regency au } { of new arrivals and chicken disputes

Laura: [sees the flustered look on his face and laughs softly] What happened this time?

Parrish: Two of the farmers having a mini war over a cow. I mean, really, a cow?

Laura: [laughs some more] Cows are very important here.

Parrish: I know they are important, but why must they attack the other for it? It is obviously one man's cow. Just because the cow sometimes eat the grass in the field between their lands does not make it the other’s.

Laura: People will take whatever opportunity they can. It's despicable, but it is what it is. [she pauses before reaching for his hand to pull him closer] Come sit with me.

Parrish: There are days I wish Peter was still here. I would gladly give him back this part of the job. [goes to sit with her though because hello beautiful wife]

Laura: [smiles softly as she leans in to kiss him, before pulling back with a nod] I know you would. And I would happily let you if I meant it saw you more, but that is not how this works.

Parrish: [mmm, distraction kisses. He's good with those] It was easier being a fake noble than a real one, I will admit.

Laura: I'm sure. Much less responsibility.

Parrish: I just hope I’m not doing things wrong.

Laura: I'm sure if you were, Deaton would correct you.

Parrish: [nods] Yes, he's done so a few times already.

Laura: Good.

Parrish: But the cow is now taken care of. So what shall we do tonight?

Laura: [deep breath] Actually, I have something I need to tell you.

Parrish: [looks up at her, curious] It's nothing bad, right? Are you feeling better?

Laura: No, it's not bad at all. [she looks back at him for a moment, before reaching forward to take his hand and giving it a soft squeeze] I'm going to have a baby.

Parrish: [and he's going to just.... stare at her] You mean... you... we...?

Laura: [she just nods, giving him a minute to process it before she says anything else]

Parrish: [his mouth moves a moment, and then he just grins] Well, we have been doing a lot of... wow. Just... wow.

Laura: [she laughs] It was bound to happen eventually.

Parrish: Oh god, what does this mean? I mean, beyond that whatever I am and you are... what will happen to the child...

Laura: It will be one or the other. It will depend on ... a number of things, but if it is a girl it will probably be a wolf.

Parrish: How do you know?

Laura: Because I come from a very long line of female alphas.

Parrish: So our first daughter would be... that?

Laura: If she's the oldest wolf in the family, then yes.

Parrish: Well, I hope none of our children are like me. Whatever I am, that is.

Laura: [her face softens, before brushing a hand against the side of his face] We will figure it out. I'm sure there is an explanation.

Parrish: I'm not sure I even want to know.

Laura: Knowing might make some things make sense.

Parrish: Maybe.

Laura: [she smiles softly before shaking her head] Don't worry about that now.

Parrish: Yeah, no we have other things to worry about. [smiles and goes to kiss her, his hand sliding down to rub over Laura's stomach gently]

Laura: [kisses him back with a grin, one hand moving to cover his as she stays close]

Parrish: [and after a moment] So how long? I mean... when did it happen?

Laura: Deaton says not longer than a few months.

Parrish: Well, hopefully we will have enough time to prepare a second nursery.

Laura: [she nods] I'm not even showing yet. We have plenty of time.

Parrish: But still... it takes time to get things done.

Laura: [smiles before pushing up to kiss him] We have plenty of time. And if necessary, we can always have the cradle in our room until it's done. [she's probably going to want the baby close anyway - her mother always did]

Parrish: And there goes any sleep either of us will have for a while. [laughs]

Laura: [she laughs] We weren't going to be sleeping anyway.

Parrish: We'll have to put up a little partition on the bassinet to protect their little baby eyes.

Laura: I'm sure we will manage.

Parrish: And if nothing, he or she will be the first of a few. [grins]

Laura: [she laughs before pulling him in closer and kissing him again] I hope so.

Parrish: [leans in, twisting them to lay out on the bed so that they can kiss a bit more comfortably]

Laura: [is more than happy to do that, one hand moving to his side to rest against it as she savors being with him. She never thought she would be this happy but she's forever grateful that she got the opportunity.]

Parrish: [same here. His life is a lot better off than what he thought it was going to be]

Laura: [and eventually she will try and pull him closer, rolling onto her back slightly so that he can move over her]

Parrish: [and he will follow, grinning as he slides over top of her, his fingers going to play with the edges of her gown straps as he kisses her deeper]

Laura: [hums softly into the kiss, lifting her shoulders some so that he remove her gown as needed, and she pulls at his tunic]

Parrish: [gown is totally getting taken off, and he's going to gently caress her body]

Laura: [She arches into his hands, pushing the material to the side and letting her hands run over his shoulders and arms to pull him in closer]

Parrish: Just let me know if anything it too sensitive. [kissing along her neck]

Laura: [nods absently, tipping her head back to give him better access]

Parrish: [grins, kissing her in that spot that makes her moan]

Laura: [and it gives him the intended results, her fingers tightening against his shoulders as she arches up into him]

Parrish: [and he will help her get his tunic off, and then lower his kisses to her breasts]

Laura: [those are a little sensitive which makes her squirm slightly under his touch, but so long as he's gentle with them it shouldn't be too bad]

Parrish: [he sees that, and he goes gently, and then slowly works down to kiss her stomach]

Laura: [her fingers slide through his hair as he moves lower, closing her eyes as she leans back against the pillows to get comfortable]

Parrish: [he's not going to go down on her - he's not sure on that yet - but his fingers will slide between her legs once her gown is completely removed, going to gently tease her]

Laura: [her hips lift to the press of his fingers, drawing soft sounds from her lips as he finds the spots she loves the most]

Parrish: [and he will go to kiss back at her lips] Is it safe for us to keep having sex while you're pregnant? Will it hurt the baby?

Laura: [she pauses for a moment, before shaking her head] I don't think so. Deaton didn't say we shouldn't.

Parrish: Okay. I just don't want to stab the baby's head with my penis or anything.

Laura: [she laughs, before shaking her head] I don't think it has a head right now.

Parrish: Well, if you're sure. [and he will kiss her as he slides in]

Laura: [she moans softly into the kiss, her hips shifting to accommodate him better between her legs, letting her hands drag up his back as they move to his shoulders]

Parrish: [and he's going to try and go gentle, not putting too much of his weight on her stomach as he starts to thrust]

Laura: [she is fine with gentle, rocking her hips to meet his thrusts and keeps him close, holding the kiss for as long as she can]

Parrish: [he will manage it for a while, just enjoying to gentle sex and kissing, but eventually his body wants more stimulation and he's going to speed up]

Laura: [picks up the change in pace with him, her sounds getting louder and more fervent as she feels herself getting closer]

Parrish: [and he is going to get close to his edge and then he will groan against her lips as he falls over it]

Laura: [she falls over with him, relaxing back against the bed and leaning in to nuzzle his neck]

Parrish: [he smiles at that, loving her nuzzling and he nuzzles back] I love you.

Laura: I love you too.

Parrish: [kisses along her neck again] Come on, let's go to bed. I probably have to deal with chicken disputes tomorrow.

Laura: [she laughs, before moving to settle into bed next to him] I'm sure you will handle them fairly.

Parrish: Would suggesting to cook them and have a family dinner with both families be good advice?

Laura: It would depend on what they're using the chickens for.

Parrish: .... I'm really hoping it's the whole food cycle reasons.

Laura: Yes, but were they going to eat them? Were they keeping them for eggs? There are lots of uses for chickens.

Parrish: As long as the uses end with food and eggs.

Laura: I'm sure it will. [she pulls the covers up around them and settles into his arms] We can worry about it in the morning.

Parrish: Yeah, morning. [he pulls her in and one hand goes to just cover her stomach because BABY] But sleeping is good.

Laura: [she can't help but smile at that, nestling against his shoulder and closing her eyes] Goodnight, Jordan.

Parrish: Goodnight, my love. [and he will be out a few minutes later]

Laura: [so will she]
