regency au } { of incoming visitors and little warriors
Parrish: [lord of the manor is tough work. But after a long day, it was a tough choice on if he was going to stop in the nursery and see the baby, or going to see his wife while she was off working on her alpha responsibilities. Normally, the baby won, and he walked in to lean over the crib]
Amelia: [is starting to get a handle on sitting up all by herself now and she's busy ... beating a ball into submission against the bottom of the crib until it slips from her grasp to bounce against the crib bars]
Parrish: What did that ball do to you, princess? [smiles]
Amelia: [her head tips back at the sound of the voice and she grins at him, before reaching plaintively towards the ball and looking back at him with a silent question]
Parrish: [and he will go and roll the ball back to her] There you go. Can you roll it back to daddy?
Amelia: [she gets her little fingers around the edge of the ball, almost letting it escape her grasp a few times, before repeats the process, bringing the ball down against the bottom of the crib repeatedly until it slips from her fingers and rolls away]
Parrish: [laughs, going to retrieve the ball for her again] You are going to be a strong warrior one day.
Amelia: [nooooooo idea what that means, she just likes the round thing, and it's clear that she's pleased with this new game she's figured out]
Parrish: [gives her back the ball, and then holds his hands out] Want to come with me to find Mommy?
Amelia: [ooooh flying, flying is better, she twists in her seat and reaches for his arms almost as though to say yes please]
Parrish: [and up she goes, getting tossed gently in the air before he settles her at his side.] You have a fun day today? [and off they go to find Laura]
Amelia: [and she will happily babble in her baby way, looking at everything over his shoulder as they go]
Parrish: [and he will talk back, totally having a fascinating conversation]
Laura: [and eventually they will track her down in the study, looking tired from the day, but when she glances up after hearing them coming, she smiles] Well, hello.
Parrish: Hello, my love. I figured you could use some affection.
Laura: You are not wrong. [and she gets up to make her way closer, giving her daughter a wide smile]
Parrish: [and he goes to hand Amelia over] She has figured out a new game with a ball in her crib. I'm sure soon we'll be able to teach her how to play catch.
Laura: Oh really? [she takes Amelia from him eagerly, just letting the little girl settle into her arms] So we have an athlete is what you're saying.
Parrish: A tiny little warrior in training.
Laura: [smiles softly] Good. She'll need to be strong.
Parrish: She will. I'm not worried about that. [leans in the kiss Laura's neck]
Laura: [she laughs at that as she turns into him] Looks like I'm not the only one who was wanting attention.
Parrish: It was a long day.
Laura: Then perhaps, we should go back to our chambers and pretend the rest of the world does not exist until dinner.
Parrish: If that is what the lady wishes.
Laura: It is. [and she will reach for his hand to let him lead the way]
Parrish: And once again, it is proven in the Hale Manor, the Lord is easily swayed by the whims of his lady. [grins]
Laura: [smirks] As any good lord should be.
Parrish: [laughs, and makes faces at Amelia over Laura's shoulder]
Amelia: [just thrilled with this attention.]
Laura: [and she will lead the way back to their room and make sure the door is closed behind them before she places Amelia down on the bed on her stomach and goes to sit next to her with her back against the headboard]
Parrish: [and he will slide onto the bed, propping his head up with his arm] So do we know what the cooks are making for dinner?
Laura: Probably nothing special. We're having guests for dinner tomorrow, so we'll be saving the best for them.
Parrish: Oh, who are we receiving?
Laura: Kali and Ennis. They're a pair of alphas from Spain and friends of my mother. They say that it's merely a social call but I'm fairly certain it's much more territorial than that. They're looking to take stock of my power and determine if there's room to take advantage of it.
Parrish: That doesn't sound very nice.
Laura: They're not very nice people. When it comes to alphas, "friends" is a term that is used very loosely. Ennis in particular used to buck my mother's word as often as he could.
Parrish: So what else should I know about them so I don't show any weakness on my end?
Laura: Ennis seems the more formidable of the two and to an extent that is true, but Kali is the one to watch. She is craftier and her emissary is ... every knowledgeable in the druidic arts. Some say she is even capable of actual magic.
Parrish: That doesn't sound at all promising. Should I leave a guard with Melissa and the children tomorrow?
Laura: [she shakes her head] I've already arranged to have them sent with Cora and Stiles to visit Peter for the weekend. Derek has already agreed, I'm unsure if Elena is going to go with them.
Parrish: But isn't sending your family away a sign of fear?
Laura: Not if it was already prearranged with Peter prior to them giving notice if their arriving. [it wasn't, but that is the story they'll be giving]
Parrish: And their ill-timed visit is the reason you and I stayed behind to greet them?
Laura: And Derek, as my second.
Parrish: [nods, reaching over to rub Amelia's back] Not sure I like being away from her like that.
Laura: [she shakes her head as Amelia pushes up into her father's hand] I don't either. But I know that she will be safe with Cora.
Parrish: And Peter. Pretty sure Peter would destroy anything that tried to hurt the kids.
Laura: [she nods] This is better. Though I worry that Elena will not be able to travel, but she is ... more diplomatic of the two, so that might be a bad thing.
Parrish: [thinks] Maybe it would be better for Elena to stay, and Patience. So that way it would see as if they were not going to Peter's at all because of her condition.
Laura: I will have to see if Derek is comfortable having Patience here.
Parrish: Well, if Lady Caroline stays, I'm sure it will be easy to ask Sir Tyler to stay in the wing that day.
Laura: [she nods] I will ask.
Parrish: Then I guess tomorrow is going to be very interesting.
Laura: Indeed. But I do not want to think about that now. [she turns and shifts so that she's leaning in to kiss him softly] I just want to spend time with our family.
Parrish: [kisses her back] Well you're the one who brought it up.
Laura: A mistake I will not make again.
Parrish: Good. [and he will kiss her again, making sure they aren't going to accidently crush the baby]
Amelia: [don't worry, Amelia won't let them, using her tiny hands to pull against her father's clothes and pull herself up onto his chest]
Parrish: [laughs, looking down at her] It seems someone is feeling left out.
Laura: [grins as she shifts so that she's lying down next to them] Well, she is part of the family.
Parrish: That she is. A very special part.
Amelia: [grins at both of them because LOOK AT ME I'M DOING IT until her grip slips and she flops back onto her back, kicking her legs happily]
Parrish: [smiles and goes to play with her feet] I still can't believe we made her.
Laura: Me either. Or that she's gotten so big already.
Parrish: We can always make another when she gets too big. [grins]
Laura: [she laughs] I'm sure we could.
Parrish: I especially enjoy the trying.
Laura: [she grins] The trying is quite enjoyable.
Parrish: Perhaps after dinner when this little one is asleep?
Laura: [she hums softly, considering, before looking up at him again] I think that may be just what I need.
Parrish: [grins back up at her] Good, then we have our plans for the evening.
Laura: [she nods] Good. To make up for tomorrow.
Parrish: Of course, we will need to make sure this one is good and tired so that she goes to bed and sleeps for a long time.
Laura: What did you have in mind?
Parrish: Lots of playtime.
Laura: Then we better get to work.
Parrish: [and there is a lot of playtime until they are summoned for dinner]
Laura: [and they have a lovely dinner with the family]
Parrish: [and then they go to put Amelia down and head back to their room]
Laura: [and she will start getting out of her ridiculous dresses so she can get ready for bed]
Parrish: [and when he's down to his sleep pants, he will come over and help. which is more just kissing along her neck]
Laura: [she closes her eyes and leans back into him] I have missed this.
Parrish: So have I. Just you and me... nothing in between...
Laura: [hums softly as she turns to face him with a smile] Though I'm sure the rest of the castle has been ... grateful for the dry spell.
Parrish: Maybe, but it's time that they get used to it.
Laura: I couldn't agree more. [leans in to kiss him]
Parrish: [kisses her back, and guides her to the bed]
Laura: [goes easily, hands sliding over his chest as she remembers the feel of his skin]
Parrish: [and as she lays back, he's going to work to get them under the blankets, and then get the rest of the clothing removed from their bodies]
Laura: [sighs softly as she settles under him, letting her fingers draw down his spine]
Parrish: [and he's going to kiss her, his fingers sliding up her body, remembering her body as he moved to fit himself nicely against her]
Laura: [continues to kiss him back, her hands wandering and drifting down over his sides]
Parrish: [and he will press his hips against hers, hands being gentle at first on her breasts knowing that they may be sensitive]
Laura: [she tips her head back as she arches into his hands, one hand curling into his hair as she pulls him closer]
Parrish: [and he will kiss her neck harder, and then down her shoulder to kiss the top of her breast. And then her nipple and he snorts, pulling back a bit] That's different.
Laura: [blinks as she glances down, her hips rocking against his at the sensation] What is it?
Parrish: [licking his lips] Milk. [grinning at her]
Laura: [she laughs] Yes, they have that right now.
Parrish: It's not bad. Just, different. [and his teeth tease along the top of her breast]
Laura: [she shivers a bit, pushing her body towards his mouth] Most of this is still the same, however.
Parrish: Well, I hope so. [and he's going to kiss and tease her, his hands sliding down to her sex and going to play with her nub]
Laura: [gasps and moans at the touch, hips bucking into his fingers]
Parrish: [chuckles, kissing back up her neck to kiss her lips. Once he's sure she's ready, he will gently thrust himself up into her. It's been awhile, so he will go slow so not to hurt her]
Laura: [it is a little odd, and her fingers tense against his shoulders, but as he starts to move she remembers how this is supposed to feel and starts to become more responsive, rocking her hips up to meet each of his thrusts]
Parrish: [and he will become more steady as they go, taking his time as he made love to his wife]
Laura: [she really has missed this, the safety and security and connection with him, feeling him pressed against her as the tension and stress starts to bundle together and prepares to ebb away. She can feel herself getting closer and she tips her head back from the kiss as her climax builds and she falls over the edge]
Parrish: [he missed it too: the warmth and love and affection. The feeling of being complete, and home. He kissed her neck as he joined her over the edge, thrusting in hard as he rode the wave of sensations before he slowed back down and settled over her]
Laura: [hums softly as she settles under him, glancing up at him with a smile] I love you.
Parrish: I love you too. Always and forever. [and he will go to kiss her for a bit before moving to roll to their sides so they could go to bed]
Laura: [closes her eyes and curls into him, drifting off safely in her husband’s arms and worrying about the problems of the world tomorrow]
Parrish: [as she should. And he will keep her safe in those arms]
Laura: [best husband]
