Molly: [and she had to call out of work because her son is sick, which sucks because she was supposed to have dinner with Michael during the break. so she had texted him with the problem and apologized, and was now sitting on her daybed couch, her son curled up in a corner sniffling and refusing to eat his soup]
Michael: [and he is also sad because that sucks, he was looking forward to dinner, but he'll text her back] Want me to bring something over? Soup? Pizza? Meds?
Molly: Are you sure? Sick toddlers are not fun to be around.
Michael: I don't have to stay if you don't want me to. But I figured you don't have a lot of leeway to run out and get what you need.
Molly: Well, I won't say no to pizza.
Michael: Let me know what kind you like and I'll be right there.
Molly: Pepperoni?
Michael: One pepperoni coming up.
Molly: You're the best.
Michael: [and he will do as asked and about forty minutes later there's a knock at the door]
Molly: [and she gets up to go and get the door, smiling tiredly as she opens it] Hey.
Michael: Hey. [grins] One pepperoni pizza, as promised.
Molly: My hero. Do you want to come in?
Kyle: [whines] Moooooooommmmyy.
Michael: Are you sure it's safe?
Molly: Do you feel like risking a cold?
Michael: I think my immune system's pretty hardy.
Molly: Then come in. Set up the pie in the kitchen and I'll be there in a minute. [and she will retreat over to check the bedroom where her son was moved to when she texted Michael]
Michael: [and he will do that, settling at the kitchen table and going in search of plates]
Molly: [and she is going to go and sing to her son for a bit, and finally just walk back into the kitchen with him in her arms, his head buried in her shoulder] Sorry, he gets clingy when he's sick.
Michael: It's okay. [gives a small wave] Hey little man.
Kyle: [looks at Michael and then buries his head into his mother more]
Molly: Kyle, you know Michael.
Michael: Yeah, we met at the diner once. You gave me some pie.
Kyle: [sniffles and looks again] I did?
Michael: Yeah. I was there with my sister and her friend?
Kyle: [thinks really hard, biting on his lower lip] Oh yeah.
Michael: You like pizza?
Kyle: Uh huh.
Michael: Well, I've got this whole pie over here and only me to eat it.
Kyle: [big sniffles] I'm su'posed to have soup.
Molly: I think you can have one slice if you drink your juice with it.
Michael: [points at that] I think that sounds pretty good.
Molly: [and she will put Kyle down in his booster seat] Thank Mister Michael for bringing over the pizza?
Kyle: Thank you.
Michael: You are very welcome.
Molly: [and she will cut up a slice for her son] So how have you been?
Michael: [he shrugs] Keeping busy.
Molly: Things going okay with your sister and her friend?
Michael: [tries to avoid making a face as he grabs a slice] Yeah, they're fine.
Molly: You don't like him, do you?
Michael: It's not him.
Molly: Then what is it?
Michael: I think it's just general big brother pissiness.
Molly: Nobody good enough for your little sister.
Michael: Basically. And she never had a boyfriend before.
Molly: [just smiles and looks over at Kyle] See, things you get to look forward to one day.
Michael: Don't date girls with brothers unless you are very secure in yourself.
Kyle: [wrinkles his nose] I don't like girls.
Michael: That may change one day.
Molly: And if it doesn't I will still love you.
Michael: And anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong.
Kyle: [blinks] Okay.
Michael: You'll get it more when you're older.
Kyle: [and he is going to just rub his nose with his arm and then reach for more pizza]
Molly: Hey, manners. Don't touch the food with snotty hands.
Michael: It's true. That's gross, dude.
Kyle: [whimpers] Sorry.
Molly: Go blow your nose and then wash your hands.
Kyle: [and he will slide down and go to the bathroom to do that]
Michael: [watches him go before glancing back to Molly] Sorry, was that too hard?
Molly: No, you're fine.
Michael: Okay. I haven't hung out with a lot of kids.
Molly: I would be worried if you did. [smiles]
Michael: There weren't a lot of kids at the compound and it was mostly me, Ben and Liv anyway.
Molly: That couldn't have been a lot of fun.
Michael: [he shrugs] Kids weren't exactly ideal where I was. It wasn't safe for them. Any kids that were there didn't get to be kids for very long.
Molly: Still. I can't imagine what it would be like growing up with no one my age around.
Michael: We made it work. And we got really close as a result.
Molly: So close that you will rip the head off any boy trying to date your sister.
Michael: I didn't want to rip his head off. The reaction wasn't that violent.
Molly: I know.
Michael: I just ... he's not from our world. I'm worried that eventually he'll hit something that he just can't wrap his head around and she'll get hurt.
Molly: There's a chance of that no matter what world he's from. It's part of a relationship.
Michael: Yeah, but our world is a little more extreme than most. There are hard lines that some people ... shouldn't have to accept that we deal with every day.
Molly: You should give him a chance before you think he can't though.
Michael: I'm not trying to scare him off.
Molly: Then why are you giving him a hard time?
Michael: Because she's my little sister.
Molly: [laughs and rubs her face] We're going in circles here.
Kyle: [comes back, all wet] Hands washed!
Michael: [he laughs] I didn't say it was one of the things that made sense.
Molly: Guess not. [looks at her son] What else did you wash?
Kyle: My face and my peepee.
Michael: ... Very thorough.
Molly: I'm not going to ask. [goes to cut him up another small slice]
Michael: [and he'll go in for another slice himself]
Molly: [and she's about to before she starts a sneezing fit, turning to the side and sneezing into her elbow]
Michael: [frowns] Uh-oh.
Kyle: Mommy's got the cold now too.
Molly: No, I'm fine... I'm... [and nope, coughing and sneezing again]
Michael: Yeah, okay, I think it's time to put the pizza in the fridge and both of you to bed.
Kyle: But I'm not tired. [yawns]
Molly: No, I think Michael's right. Bedtime for everyone.
Kyle: But where is Mister Michael going to sleep?
Michael: Probably back at my house, kiddo.
Molly: We don't want him getting sick, right?
Kyle: No.
Michael: But I could swing by later? When you're all feeling better?
Molly: Would you like that, Kyle?
Kyle: Can we play cars when you come back?
Michael: Sure.
Kyle: Can you come back tomorrow?!
Molly: Kyle...
Michael: Maybe. It has to be okay with your mom, and then I gotta check with work.
Kyle: Can he, Mommy? Please?!
Molly: [coughing] We'll see, baby.
Michael: Everyone's gotta feel better first.
Molly: [getting up] Come on, off to bed with you. [goes to pick up Kyle]
Michael: [and he'll go to clean up the pizza]
Molly: [and there will be some singing and stuff, and then she will sneak out of the room and back over to him] Thank you.
Michael: No problem.
Molly: You really didn't have to.
Michael: [he shrugs] I didn't mind. Besides, I was supposed to see you anyway.
Molly: Yeah, but sans the kid.
Michael: I was hoping I would get to meet him eventually.
Molly: I was worried how he'd take it.
Michael: I know. Which is why I wasn't planning on rushing it.
Molly: But he likes you.
Michael: Which is a good thing, right?
Molly: [smiles] Right.
Michael: Then good.
Molly: So would you like to come over again soon?
Michael: Sure. So long as I don't have to go out of town on a job.
Molly: So you think I can handle what it means to be in a relationship with you with all that stuff you're worried about your sister's guy not being able to?
Michael: [he gives a small shrug] I've been told that I've been too ... safe with stuff like this in the past. And I figure if you can't handle it, you'd tell me. It's either push you away or glare at him, and ... I'd rather glare at him.
Molly: And I'd rather not push you away. You've been probably the first nice guy I've been around in a long time.
Michael: So ... we'll just feel this out?
Molly: I think so. [goes to sneeze] Just... not when I'm a petri dish of germs.
Michael: [he laughs, before making his way closer and pressing a kiss to her forehead] Get some rest. I'll see you later.
Molly: [smiles] See you later.
Michael: [and off he will go to head back to the bunker]
Molly: [and she will pass out on her bed]
