Scott: [gets home, sneaking into his mom's room first though, but whispers] Mom?

Melissa: [startles awake, squinting at the shape in front of her until it starts to resemble her son] Scott?

Scott: [oops.] Yeah, it's me. Just letting you know I'm home. Everyone's back, safe and sound. [more or less]

Melissa: [blearily] What time is it?

Scott: [looks at clock] Three AM.

Melissa: [sighs, then shifts to go back to sleep] Tell me about it in the morning.

Scott: I will. Love you. [and heads to his room, stopping before he opens the door all the way because he has that "Someone is in my room" feel and he lets his eyes glow, and then] Oh hey Kira.

Kira: [small awkward smile as she sits on the edge of his bed] Hey. I know I was probably just going to see you tomorrow anyway but the past couple days have been … a lot so I wanted to make sure you were okay. [a beat] And Derek, that he got home okay.

Scott: No, it's fine. And I'm actually fine. All healed up and everything. [goes to sit next to her] Got Derek to Peter's place and he should be safe there for the night. Peter may be a jerk sometimes, but he and Derek still take care of each other. And Kate being back is going to piss him off enough to cooperate.

Kira: [she nods] I'm not even going to pretend to understand the dynamics here, but I'm all for Cora's uncle being more helpful, less of a creeper.

Scott: The Hales are a very, very complicated story. [chuckles and sits down] And I would probably avoid them if it wasn't for the fact that Peter is the one who turned me.

Kira: [her head tips a bit] But you care about Derek, obviously. And Cora is part of your pack, right?

Scott: Now, yeah. Derek would be, but I think he doesn't because of Peter. He can't let Peter be an omega on his own and I think he feels guilty about some stuff that happened to him after the fire. But Derek's the one who trained me. Still kinda does, really. He's a good guy.

Kira: Yeah, I know. I mean, it's kind of weird how he can just appear out of nowhere, but he's a good ally to have.

Scott: The whole appearing out of nowhere is totally a Hale family trait.

Kira: It's a little unsettling.

Scott: You get used to it. But he's the reason I smell my bedroom before I enter into it. [laughs]

Kira: [she laughs as well] So I guess I should make sure you know my scent then. [there's a pause] That sounded ... sexier in my head.

Scott: [laughs] I already know your scent, so don't worry about it.

Kira: Well ... good. [there's a pause as she tries to figure out what to say next] Look, Scott. When we were with the Calaveras ...

Scott: [shakes his head] Don't feel guilty about that. It was me or Lydia, and you made the right choice.

Kira: That doesn't mean it felt right. I mean, torture doesn't exactly seem like the kind of thing you do to your could-be-boyfriend, powerful alpha werewolf or not.

Scott: [He reaches over to put his hand on top of hers] No, it should never feel right. But sometimes the right choices suck, and hey, it ended up giving us the clue we needed. So just focus on that part?

Kira: [she nods, turning her hand over in his and lacing her fingers through his] And hopefully I'll never have to do it again.

Scott: I hope not too. [he thinks for a moment] Um, Kira... when you just said could be boyfriend...?

Kira: [her eyes pick up from their hands and she looks a mixture of hopeful and worried. Mostly worried that she took could-be-boyfriend a bit too soon.] Yeah?

Scott: Do you... want it to be just... boyfriend?

Kira: [the look on her face turns to more of a grin as her eyes light up a bit] Yeah? I mean, if that's what you want. But I think just boyfriend is ... pretty nice.

Scott: [bites his lip a moment, then smiles] I was thinking about it on the whole drive back. And I kinda do. I think I really do want to. Be your boyfriend.

Kira: [yeah, she's grinning like an idiot. Because yay!] My boyfriend Scott McCall. I like it.

Scott: [big Scott grin] Me too.

Kira: [her head ducks a bit for a moment, before glancing towards the door] Anyway. It's late. I really should let you sleep. [a beat] And let me sleep.

Scott: Do you want to stay? It's already after 3 right now so...

Kira: Do you think your mom would mind? I wouldn't want to get you in trouble.

Scott: As long as we keep our clothes on, she's usually pretty cool about it. [moves to pull back the covers.]

Kira: Okay. [she leans forward to pull out of her combat boots, before inching back on the bed to slide under the covers with him]

Scott: [goes to hold her, and then stops] Oh, one other thing? [ and he waits for her to turn to him a bit before he leans down to kiss her while she's in his arms]

Kira: [her eyes widen a bit in surprise, before they close into the kiss, one hand coming up to brush against his jaw softly as she leans into the kiss]

Scott: [And he takes his time, enjoying the kiss he should have given her before he had gone off on his own, before pulling back and smiling at her]

Kira: [she exhales slowly as he pulls back, before opening her eyes and looking up at him with a smile] Wow.

Scott: Yeah, that's about what I've got too. [he runs his hand along her cheek] So, I'll see you in the morning?

Kira: [nods a bit, before curling into him and closing her eyes. It doesn't take long before she passes out, drifting off to a peaceful sleep]
