new york wolves } { of lame frats and lilo and stitch
Tyler: [It's a frat party. a frat that his father had been a member of when he was in college, so Tyler was expected to rush. Which is why he was there, getting to know the brothers while keeping Matt and Jeremy nearby so that they can keep him from being punked before rush week. But when he picks up the scent of another wolf he blinks, and that eventually makes him find his way through the crowd until he was close enough to the dancing girl to know that it was her and the.... not human she was dancing with. He grabbed a beer and made his way over because, well, wolves stick together and all, right?] Hey.
Malia: [glances over when she catches the scent and ... oh. Hello there.]
Landon: [will just take that as an opening] Hello, yourself.
Tyler: I'm Tyler. You guys go here, or just here for the party?
Malia: [her eyes are still watching him carefully, content to let Landon carry the conversation for now]
Landon: She goes here. I just am here to tease the college boys.
Tyler: You've got a lot of targets, I'm sure. [smirks] I just thought I'd say hello, seeing I'm starting here and all. Trying to find some new friends beyond the two losers I enrolled with.
Jeremy: [oh there you are, Ty. Jerkface] Losers, huh? Glad to know how you really feel.
Malia: [her eyes track to Jeremy and ... huh. He's human though, which, for the moment, makes him less interesting than the new wolf] And you picked a frat party?
Landon: [will just smirk in Jeremy's direction too] If it's any consolation, I don't see anything loser-ish on my end.
Jeremy: Good to know. I'd hate to get stuck in a stereotype again on my first week.
Tyler: My dad rushed here when he was my age. I think I'll be disowned if I don't make friends with the natives.
Malia: [snorts] You should find better friends. The guys in this frat suck.
Morris: [as evidenced by the one that's going to come sliiiiiiiding on up to their side] Hey, sexy. I've been looking for you.
Landon: Well, Morris, I'm touched. My heart is all a flutter.
Morris: Not you. [there's a glare in Landon's direction] I was talking to Malia.
Malia: [glares] Well, Malia's not talking to you. Get lost.
Jeremy: But if you're looking for someone to talk to, I'm very talkative. I can talk all night if you want me to.
Tyler: [smirks, letting Jeremy run interference] So Malia, huh?
Morris: [grits his teeth] Why don't you idiots get lost, so I can talk to ... [he reaches out to grab her wrist]
Malia: [her eyes harden a bit, before she turns and grabs him by the shirt and hauls him up into the air, before slamming him back down to the ground again. Morris lands with a groan, and Malia dusts off her hands] No means no, jackhole. [she then turns back to Tyler and Jeremy with a smirk] Hale. My name is Malia Hale.
Jeremy: [looking at Tyler] I like her.
Tyler: [his eyes open a bit wider for half a second at the name Hale because he knew that name. Knew of the name, at least. And he smirked] Yeah, I think he's learned his lesson.
Malia: [grins before looking back at Landon] I need a drink.
Landon: Ditto. To the bar!
Jeremy: Sounds like a plan to me.
Tyler: I'm good, thanks. [salutes her a bit with the bottle he had just gotten before coming over]
Malia: Suit yourself. [and with that she's going to head over to the bar where a very apologetic frat boy is standing]
Luka: I am so sorry.
Malia: [rolls her eyes] Not your fault. Morris was always a douchebag.
Tyler: [looks at Jeremy and sighs]
Jeremy: [elbows him and goes to pull him along because no, really just because you have a beer doesn't mean you don't follow] Sorry, Tyler was raised by wolves and lacks manners at times. [a joke, a truth and yet still a joke.]
Malia: [she shrugs] Not like mine are much better. [she glances back to Luka before pointing to Tyler] Luka, tell my buddy here why he's better off rushing Kappa Delta Pi.
Luka: We are not a massive pile of dicks.
Tyler: Hey, I didn't really say this was my choice. I'd rather not be in a frat at all, to be honest. I just want to have a good time.
Luka: Well, you change your mind, you know where to find us.
Malia: [is grabbing herself a beer] So where are you from anyway? [to Tyler. Or also Jeremy, if they're from the same place]
Tyler: I'll keep it in mind. I'm planning on doing everything I can to fail at rushing at the moment.
Jeremy: [to Malia] Mystic Falls, Virginia.
Malia: [her brow furrows as she tries to recognize if there's a pack there she should know about. She'll ask Peter about it later] Why New York?
Jeremy: The missing man in the trio. [scans the crowd] He got the scholarship, and we're just following him so we don't have to split up.
Matt: [and that would be his cue, wandering over with is beer after talking to Elena on the phone because he misses her and he's whipped shut up Ty.] Hey, there you are.
Landon: ... Hello, blue eyes.
Jeremy: [laughs] Matt, this is Malia, and the guy who's barking up the wrong tree.
Tyler: [snorts]
Landon: Landon. My name is Landon. And you never know. Occasionally, I may happen to find the right tree.
Tyler: And the walking mouthpiece is Jeremy, just so we're all on the same page.
Jeremy: Yeah, well that tree's pretty much got my sister wrapped around him in a death grip. [smirks at Matt]
Tyler: We're still surprised she didn't change schools to be here.
Matt: [rolls his eyes] She's in Boston. It's not like she's far.
Malia: I know a guy from Boston. His dad teaches at one of the schools there.
Jeremy: Boston University?
Malia: [squints a bit as she tries to remember what school Hal's dad works at, before going for her phone to text him: "Stop making out with Alexis and tell me what school your dad works at." She's such a good friend.] Is she taking history?
Jeremy: Elena? Damn if I know. I think she and Caroline change their majors every week, don't they?
Tyler: [shakes his head] Yeah. Caroline is just determined to make sure that they experience everything that they can while having the best four years of their lives.
Hal: [text] No. Boston U. Y?
Matt: Elena keeps going on and on about this Professor Mason guy. She really enjoys his class.
Malia: That's the guy! That's Hal's dad. ["Met some kids with a friend in your dad's class."]
Jeremy: Well, that's kinda a coincidence then. This guy at the party?
Hal: No way. That’s freaky.
Malia: [shakes her head] He's hanging out with his girlfriend across campus. [to Hal: Yeah, coincidence, right?]
Hal: Totally. What’s this friend's name?
Tyler: He's probably having a better time then. [finishes his beer and grabs another]
Malia: [laughs] Probably. [to Hal: Elena, I think.]
Hal: I'll ask my dad about it.
Jeremy: Well, if this place sucks, why don't we find something better?
Malia: I am all for that.
Landon: I go where she goes.
Tyler: [looks at Jeremy] What are you thinking?
Jeremy: We really haven't broken in the apartment yet...
Tyler: No, come on, Man we agreed no big parties at the place.
Jeremy: Dude, I count what - five of us? [looks over his shoulder] six if Luka is really bored to death.
Luka: I am incredibly bored to death.
Malia: We are totally considerate party people. No mess we won't otherwise clean up.
Jeremy: Come on, man. We came to college to live a little. [looks at Matt to back him up]
Matt: [glances between the two of them before groaning] This is why you all wanted to live with me? So that I have to be the tiebreaker all the time?
Tyler: Because he's an evil influencer.
Jeremy: Hey, it's not my fault you lack self control!
Matt: Nope. I'm not doing this. You guys sort it out without me.
Malia: [laughs] How about a diner? You guys like diner food?
Jeremy & Tyler: Yes.
Malia: Then let's hit a diner. Luka?
Luka: [nods] I could eat. Let's eat.
Jeremy: [and so they all go off to the diner, and he's going to sit himself next to Malia randomly] So what are you studying?
Malia: Dance. [she totally doesn't mind. Landon's making doe eyes at Matt at another table and Luka and Tyler are talking football which she doesn’t' actually care about] What about you?
Jeremy: Graphic art.
Malia: Really? What do you like to draw?
Jeremy: I've gotten into doing these really good character types. Kinda like comic books, but I don't have a lot of stories to go with it.
Malia: You should talk to Alexis's dad! He writes mystery novels and he just had graphic novels made of one of his series - Derek Storm?
Jeremy: [give him a second] Wait, you know Richard Castle.
Malia: [nods] Yeah, my sister and his daughter are best friends. He's pretty cool.
Jeremy: So you just happen to know all the cool people in school, or just lucky?
Malia: [she shrugs] I don't know a lot of people.
Jeremy: Well, you know three more people tonight.
Malia: Yeah, I guess I do.
Jeremy: I'll admit, it's not easy trying to make friends in this place. It's huge.
Malia: It's not so bad. I'll introduce you to some of our other friends.
Jeremy: Awesome. [just smiles at her as the food arrives] So what kind of dance are you into?
Malia: Landon and I do competitive ballroom.
Jeremy: Really? Have you won any?
Malia: We've come close a few times. We placed second in the last one we went to.
Jeremy: Well, if you ever want someone to make you posters or something, I'm your man.
Malia: We don't usually use posters, but if we do I will let you know.
Jeremy: [nods, not really sure what else to talk about]
Malia: [nods for a moment before glancing back to the rest of the room] So why graphic art?
Jeremy: I've always liked to draw, you know? Just something I was good at, but lately the actual get paid to do it type jobs are using graphics.
Malia: Can you do that thing where you draw on the computer?
Jeremy: A little. But it's mostly just flat art. I don't know how to animate it at all.
Malia: So you're not going to draw the next Lilo and Stitch?
Jeremy: Maybe. I mean, that's one of my favorite movies when I was little, so maybe I could do a sequel or something.
Malia: [brightens a bit when he says that] Really?
Jeremy: Of course. I mean, come on, who can't love Stitch?
Malia: [and she grins even wider] It's my favorite movie too.
Jeremy: I kinda got back into watching it again a few years ago. My life's kinda made me feel like I'm Lilo a lot the last few years.
Malia: Really? I always kind of identified more with Stitch.
Jeremy: Well, my folks... [deep breath] A few years back. My older sister tried to make things better, but I was a mess for a while. I got better though.
Malia: [frowns a bit at that] Oh. I'm sorry. [she knows how that goes too]
Jeremy: [shrugs, reaching for a fry] Hey, it happens. [small smile] So why do you identify with Stitch?
Malia: [she blinks for a moment, glancing away before shrugging a little as one hand comes up to scratch the back of her head] It's ... a long story. But my mom died when I was a kid too. And my little sister.
Jeremy: [and he just goes to put a hand on top of hers, sympathetic] I'm sorry.
Malia: [she shrugs] Oddly enough, I kind of wound up in a better place as a result. But it took a while for me to figure that out.
Jeremy: Yeah. It took me about a year of being a complete emo teenager and borderline drug addict to figure it out myself.
Malia: [she winces at that. If she were honest with herself, she probably would admit that her tendency to sleep around rather than have actual relationships is probably the fact that she still feels like she has the potential to destroy everything she touches, but she's getting better at that. At least isolate herself the way Cora used to] And how are you now?
Jeremy: I still have my bad days. But Ty and Matt do the big brother thing and try and keep my nose clean. But holidays are still hard. My aunt Jenna tries a lot, but it's not the same.
Malia: At least you have her. I didn't really have anyone until Laura found me.
Jeremy: And now?
Malia: [she gives a shrug] I have my brother and sisters. I have my dad. I'm getting better.
Jeremy: And you have good friends. [he looks at Landon] One who I think wants to do dirty things to my sister's boyfriend.
Malia: [laughs] Oh, you have no idea.
Jeremy: [laughs] Oh no, I have a very creative imagination. Though I don't really want to turn it there.
Malia: [grins] You seem like you have good friends too.
Jeremy: Yeah, they are. Tyler took a year off before going on to college to wait for me, and Matt needed to work and ended up getting recruited this year because he had to get his SAT score up before they could accept him. So it's cool to be coming here with my two best friends.
Malia: That's good. My sister goes here with me too, her and her boyfriend.
Jeremy: And what about your boyfriend?
Malia: [shakes her head] Don't have one.
Jeremy: You're kidding me, right?
Malia: [she wrinkles her nose] No. Why?
Jeremy: You mean beyond the fact that you're beautiful and I mean, you kicked that guy's ass...
Malia: [she rolls her eyes] I don't really date.
Jeremy: Well, that explains why you don't have a boyfriend then. [he smiles, because that isn't a big deal to him]
Malia: [she shrugs] I just don't get the point. I mean if you like someone you like them. I don't know why you have to dance around each other and go through all the flirting and everything when you could just ... jump to the fun part.
Jeremy: Well, yeah, I get that. But dating isn't always like that. It's more doing the fun stuff with just one specific person that you like, not like, anyone.
Malia: Wouldn't you do that anyway if you liked them?
Jeremy: Some people don't. They think that they can find something better while still being with who they already have. That's not the kind of game I'm into.
Malia: [rolls her eyes] That's dumb. If you don't like being with someone, don't be with them. It's easy. You just say no.
Jeremy: They'll tell you that you can like more than one person. Trust me, I've been there.
Malia: And this would be why I don't date.
Jeremy: [chuckles] And like I said, I don't blame you.
Malia: [she just doesn't like the rules and expectations. Especially when all she's really after right now is sex] Do you have a girlfriend?
Jeremy: Nope. Just a few failed attempts that didn't pan out.
Malia: [nods, then there's a beat as she realizes she probably shouldn't just blow it off. So it's followed by an awkward, belated] ... Sorry.
Jeremy: [shrugs] It happens. But thanks. [he thinks a moment] So I gotta ask - you wait for the guy to make the first move, or do you typically make it?
Malia: [her eyebrow goes up a bit at that before she smirks and shrugs] Depends what I'm after and who. But usually me. [mostly because she usually picks the good ones]
Jeremy: Alright.
Tyler: [nope, he can hear what you're trying to do, Jeremy, and he's shooting you a quick look because come on, really, why are you trying for a hookup already]
Malia: [Malia is not opposed. She usually goes out to get laid anyway. Thankfully she has Landon to play wingman for her]
Landon: I feel like pie. [and he's going to reach for Tyler's arm and navigate him towards the counter] Don't you feel like pie? I think you do.
Tyler: Um... wait pie? [and he's navigated away]
Jeremy: [amused, leaning back a bit in his seat. That's one babysitter down]
Matt: [is going to take over talking to Luka about football and not pay attention to what Jeremy's doing at all, because he knows Jeremy and knows that somehow this will find it's way back to YOU CAN'T JUDGE ME YOU'RE SLEEPING WITH MY SISTER so he's just going to ... stay out of it.]
Jeremy: [GOOD BOY MATT DONOVAN. He's trained you well. Even though he knows that what he does will get back to his sister anyway is a two way street. but he's going to smile at Malia] Well, for the record, so far I'm liking what I see.
Malia: [... interesting. She smirks a bit as she turns to face him more] Really?
Jeremy: Well, yeah. I mean, come on, you're hot, you can kick random jocks' asses, and we've obviously got a similar taste in movies and tragic backstories. What's not to like?
Malia: [smile stretches a bit at that] And you're cool with just hanging out? [she's always careful to ask because some guys seem to expect things after and sometimes she doesn't want to go back for round two. But she likes Jeremy and doesn't want to screw that up]
Jeremy: Yeah. I mean, right now I'm not looking for anything too serious, you know?
Malia: [check] And your roommates would be cool with it? Because we can't go back to my place. [aka her pack, and she already knows that Tyler's a wolf, even if Jeremy's human]
Jeremy: [that's going to be the tricky thing.] Well, technically they shouldn't because I'm going to have to listen to them when their girlfriends are in town. But Ty's told me that the walls are thick.
Malia: [it may not do much, but it's at least something. She grins] Sounds good to me.
Jeremy: [looks at Landon & Luka] Think your friends will give us a head start back to my place?
Malia: [glances over to Landon, who's got Tyler's back to them, and he gives her a slight nod to get gone] Yep. Let's go.
Jeremy: [grins and yeah, totally going to abandon the big brothers. They can find their own way home]
Malia: [yep. back they go to Jeremy's place and she'll just follow until they get to the front door, before she'll stop him] Wait!
Jeremy: [stops, blinking] Yeah?
Malia: [and she will just place her hands on his shoulders, backing him (gently, for Malia) into the door before leaning in to kiss him firmly]
Jeremy: [smirks into the kiss before he's kissing her back, his hands going to rest on her hips]
Malia: [and she just melts into him, pressing closer as she continues the kiss]
Jeremy: [he'll keep the kiss going a bit longer before needing to pull back to breath] We should probably get out of the hallway at least...
Malia: [nods a bit] So you should probably open the door.
Jeremy: [grins and goes to do that, and welcome to the Mystic Falls boys pad. It looks exactly like you would expect three boys living together to look like. Crappy furniture, but an amazing entertainment set. Kitchen less than spotless, stuff all over the place]
Malia: [so long as there's nothing too gross to smell, she won't complain. She hangs out in frat houses, after all] Nice place.
Jeremy: Thanks. Sorry it's not straightened up, but I wasn't expecting to bring anyone home.
Malia: I usually hang out in frat houses. I've seen worse.
Jeremy: Then I don't feel as bad. [and he's going to close the door and pull her back close] So where were we?
Malia: [grins a bit before leaning in to kiss him again, because kissing him was fun before and that was a very important qualification]
