new york wolves } { of missing sisters and alpha packs

Laura: [is sitting in the stands at Stiles’ lacrosse game, trying not to be nervous. Malia, Jeremy and Cora were all supposed to meet her here for the game, and none of them have showed yet. Malia, she figured she wouldn't be seeing until later if she was meeting Jeremy here, but Cora should have been here by now. For the most part, however, she's trying to focus on the game and figures that something must have come up.]

Stiles: [it's obvious from the games that Hal and Stiles are a team to be reckoned with. Stiles plays defense, Hal has offense, can they always have each other’s back. Stiles keeps looking into the stands to see if Cora's watching, but she hasn't shown up yet and he nods at Laura, but the disappointment that she isn't there is evident on his face before he focuses on the next ball drop]

Laura: [frowns after a moment, before starting to push up in the stands, seeing if she can catch sight of them or hear snippets of one of their voices. This isn't like them at all. She then sends another text to both of them to see if they're on their way, but since they haven't responded to the last two, she doesn't have high hopes there.]

Jeremy: [and look, he's showing up nice and late, looking around the stands until he sees Laura and goes up to her] Hey.

Laura: [glances over with a small smile] Hey. I was wondering when you guys would be getting here.

Jeremy: They aren't here yet?

Laura: No. I thought they were with you.

Jeremy: I was supposed to meet them but they hadn't showed and Malia wasn't texting me back, so I figured they were running late so I told her I'd meet her here.

Laura: [frowns] They're not texting me back either. [and with that she's getting to her feet and standing on the bench she was sitting on, trying to give herself a better vantage point. She calls Malia's phone, knowing that she has it on that dog whistle frequency and hits send, mostly trying to see if she's somewhere in the area first before calling Derek] When was the last time you saw them?

Jeremy: Two days ago? I don't normally see them on Tuesdays.

Derek: [is at work, but knows better than to answer Laura's calls] Yeah?

Laura: I know this is the kind of thing that could usually get you in trouble but could you do that GPS locator thing on Cora and Malia's phones? I just tried calling Malia and it rang forever but I couldn't hear her ringer. [to Jeremy] Have you talked to her, though? Texted her? When did she stop responding to you?

Jeremy: [looks a bit nervous, but pulls out his phone] Yesterday afternoon. She was about to go into class.

Derek: Should I be getting worried? [and he's going to shift over to Ryan's computer since he's the one with the tech to do that]

Laura: [to Derek] Maybe. [Laura was getting worried, because she hasn't seen either of them all day, she just assumed that their plans were set]

Derek: [it's a good thing he's Flack's favorite, okay? He's running the cell phones, his tucked under his ear] Well, they're on campus. I'm showing them both in the vicinity of the chemistry building.

Laura: Great. I'm on campus now, I'll go check it out. Thanks, Derek.

Derek: No problem. Just text me and let me know what's going on.

Laura: I will. [and with that she'll hang up before looking at Jeremy expectantly.] You wouldn't happen to know the fastest way to the chemistry building from here, would you?

Jeremy: Yeah, I'll show you. [and he will take her to the building]

Stiles: [yeah, he's been listening in, trying to stay focused on the game, but his eyes are going to follow her and he misses someone trying to get past him, getting yelled at by Hal in the process to get his head back in the game]

Laura: [and when they get there, there's no sign of them at first. She then pulls at her phone again, calling Malia's number and listening for the chirp-chirp-chirp of her phone that Jeremy probably can't here. She follows the sound around the corner of the building and when she gets there, she's stopped dead in her tracks, staring up at the alpha pack's symbol painted on the wall over where Malia and Cora's phones were left]

Jeremy: [following her, and he sees the phone lit up and bends down, looking at the symbol closer] What is that?

Laura: [doesn't respond at first, because she knows what it is, and her knowing is probably the only thing that matters. It takes her a second to register Jeremy's voice, and shakes her head] Something bad. [and she reaches for his shoulder to pull him back because they should call the cops] Jeremy, go home. I'll keep you in the loop just ... go home.

Jeremy: [yeah, not helping. but he knows that voice. It's Tyler's 'bigger than you can handle' voice] Yeah, sure. [he's going to back up, but he will be back to take a picture of that marking later and showing it to Tyler]

Laura: [yeah, she's going to tack on:] Tell Tyler to keep his head down. [and with that she's going to let him go and call Peter first, then Derek]

Peter: [getting dressed to go pick up Nadia for dinner. Sees the phone ringing and reaches over] Yes?

Laura: [her words are rushed and hurried but Peter will probably be able to make them out] The alpha pack is in town. They took the girls.

Peter: [his hands still] When?

Laura: Probably last night? That's when Malia stopped responding to Jeremy's texts and I haven't seen either of them all day.

Peter: They can't get far in a day. If it's been over twenty four hours, put in a report through Derek immediately. I'll be there as soon as I can.

Laura: Okay. I'll call Derek now and text you the address.

Peter: Alright. [and he's going to hang up and call Nadia, cancelling dinner and telling her to warn Victor that Deucalion is in town with his pack, and he will be in touch]

Laura: [calls her brother again, and when he answers "hello" is barely out of his mouth before:] It's the alpha pack. They took them.

Derek: [and he stands up suddenly, probably getting attention but not caring] What?

Laura: I found their phones. They painted their symbol over them on the wall of the building.

Derek: [trying so not to freak out.] Okay... okay so... [deep breath] What do you need me to do? [heading towards Flack's office]

Laura: They've been missing for longer than 24 hours, at least by my best guess. File a missing persons report. Peter is coming here and I'll keep you updated, but keep your head down. Don't pick fights with any of them, you won't win.

Derek: Yeah, trust me, I know better than to go up against Ennis.

Laura: Good. [swallows hard] Do, um. Do you need me to stay here? Or leave their phones or something? Stiles is in the middle of his game, so he's fine, but I want to make sure I'm there when it ends.

Derek: I need the coordinates. [of the crime scene] Let me check with Flack though, because this could get ugly and I don't want to put people not in the know into harm’s way.

Laura: It's where you said their phones were.

Derek: [nods] Right. Okay, I'll be there soon.

Laura: [nods and hangs up, before texting Stiles to stay with Hal, stick to the crowds and not leave the game until she finds him]

Stiles: [which he won't get until he's back in the locker room, and the longer that Laura is gone, the more worried he is]

Derek: [is going to talk with Flack about what's happening] So how do we play this?

Flack: [runs a hand over his face] Right now? I'm not really sure beyond treating it like a normal missing persons case.

Derek: Which isn't in my wheelhouse.

Flack: I know. But given the amount of your family involved, they probably would have taken you off the case anyway.

Derek: Yeah, and the last time my sister went missing, we saw how well that went. [sighs] I just know that the three people who took them are off the grid. But someone who tries to follow a lead is going to walk into something they can't handle.

Flack: Not everyone on the force is as clueless about the supernatural as you think.

Derek: I know. But I've gone against one of them, sir. You think my sister's strong…you've seen nothing. The stories have it that they killed their own betas to gain their power for themselves. And I went against one of them before that, and he threw me around like I was nothing.

Flack: That doesn't mean I can just let you and your pack run lawlessly all over the city trying to track these guys down - if you want police resources to be used, we have to do this the right way. [sighs] Look, let me make some calls to some of my contacts in the FBI. Maybe they'll be able to dig up something so that we can at least figure out if they're in the city or not.

Derek: [he wasn't asking that, but he shuts his mouth and just nods] Yes, sir.

Flack: [looks up at him gently before nodding] I'm worried about them too, alright? But we have to do this the right way.

Derek: I know.

Flack: Look, just take Beckett, see you sister and lock down the scene. If anything we can at least have her start collecting evidence while I wait to talk to my guy.

Derek: Yes, sir. [and he's going to go find Kate] We've got a case.

Beckett: [looks up with a frown] We do?

Derek: Yeah. [and he's trying not to look upset] I'll explain on the way.

Beckett: [yeah, that definitely tells her something's wrong] Should I grab Espo and Ryan?

Derek: Flack just said you. It's probably not going to stay ours long.

Beckett: Okay. [and with that she's getting up and grabbing her jacket] Where are we going?

Derek: NYU. [and he waits for the elevator door to close and he's going to just sigh and lean his head back] I just put in a missing person's report to Flack on my younger sisters.

Beckett: [turns and faces him, eyes wide with worry for a moment] What? What happened?

Derek: There's a group of alphas that formed their own pack years ago. They killed off their betas, taking their power for themselves. My mother used to be friends with the leader of that pack, Deucalion. But that was before he killed.

Beckett: And you think they took them?

Derek: We know they took them. They left a message for Laura.

Beckett: What do they want with Laura?

Derek: I don't know. But it's not good either way. We've kept our heads down after our mother died for a reason.

Beckett: We'll find them, Derek. It'll be okay.

Derek: This is just too much on top of each other. I feel like there's no breathing room anymore.

Beckett: [and she doesn't know what to tell him so she's just going to step forward and slide her arms around his shoulders, pulling him in closer]

Derek: [and he's going to press his forehead to hers, trying not to radiate just how scared he was. because Ennis alone scares him, and to think that Deucalion was stronger... yeah]

Beckett: We'll find them. We'll find them and we'll bring them home. No matter what it takes.

Derek: I'm just worried at that the cost is going to be.

Beckett: [nods once] Hopefully it won't be too high.

Derek: I hope not. [because it's either Laura or the pack... and neither is a cost he's willing to pay]

Beckett: [pulls back as the elevator reaches the ground floor, before turning and heading to the door.] C'mon, let's head out to the scene.

Derek: [and they head to the scene and do their cop thing]

Laura: [and once she's given them her statement and they've told her she can go, she books it over to the locker room to find Stiles]

Stiles: [and he's in the locker room with Hal, pacing. He's got the something is very wrong vibe already and worried, biting on his thumbnail with his arms crossed]

Laura: [sneaks her way in and ...] We have to go. Now.

Hal: [stands up] Okay, what's going on?

Stiles: [confused, but grabbing his bag] Yeah, where's Cora and Malia?

Laura: We can't talk about this here.

Stiles: [nods, and looks at Hal] Go home. Tell Alexis I'm okay, and I'll text you both later.

Hal: But Stiles...

Stiles: I'll be fine, Hal. I swear. I'm with Laura. Just find Alexis and get home. Maybe even see if her dad will let you crash there for a day or two.

Hal: [licks his lips, then nods] Alright. But you better text me, man.

Stiles: Promise. [smirks, and grabs his stick and goes to follow Laura]

Laura: [she nods] You might want to go up to the Hamptons for the weekend, just to be on the safe side. I'll have Stiles text you once I fill him in.

Hal: That bad, huh.

Stiles: Just go, I'll text.

Hal: [frustrated look, but grabs his bag and goes out the main entrance]

Laura: [takes Stiles’ arm and heads towards the door. she's quiet until they get back to the penthouse and she's closing the door behind them] Cora and Malia were taken.

Stiles: [just nods] Which is least bad of the things that was running through my head. Argents?

Laura: Nope. Worse.

Stiles: There's something worse to fear than Gerard Argent?

Laura: The alpha pack.

Stiles: The alpha pack? Isn't that a little overstating?

Laura: It's a pack of alphas. They killed their betas in order to gain more power and formed one super pack.

Stiles: Oh. [blinks] Yeah, that sounds scary.

Laura: Their leader used to be a friend of my mom's until Gerard blinded him, his beta tried to kill him, and he went a little ... nuts.

Stiles: And this psycho has Cora AND Malia?

Laura: Yeah. My guess is that he's trying to force my hand.

Stiles: Force your hand to do what?

Laura: Join his pack.

Stiles: But to do that... damn. He's... he's... [yeah, his brain is faster than his mouth] That's just fucked up.

Laura: Yeah. It's not going to happen. I'd die first.

Stiles: Yeah, and that's not going to happen either. So, how do we find them?

Laura: [deep breath] That's the part I don't know.

Stiles: But you know it's them. They've got to leave some kind of trail...?

Laura: They know how to hide their scent. We wouldn't be able to find them our way.

Stiles: ..... Which is why Derek was working the crime scene.

Laura: [she nods] I think Flack is calling in the FBI to help too.

Stiles: So all we can is just sit here and wait?

Laura: Yeah, I don't like it either.

Stiles: Well, what can I do then? I'm not really the best at sitting still...

Laura: Just ... stay where I can see you. Beyond that, I don't know.

Stiles: [nods] Can I take a shower at least?

Laura: [nods as she goes to sit in the living room] Sure.

Stiles: [nods, taking his bag and heading to the showers. He's still in his uniform, so his clothes from the day is in it, and he's going to take a shower and then change, and about 30 minutes later he will be coming out to the smell of Chinese food that Peter has brought back as he's coming in the door]

Laura: [glances towards the smell and groans] Thank you.

Peter: I figured that with the stress level being on ten, fuel would be appreciated. [he looks at Stiles] I even got extra eggrolls.

Stiles: You still love me.

Peter: For Laura.

Laura: [smirks] You can have some, Stiles. I'm not that hungry.

Stiles: Thanks, Laura.

Peter: Have we heard from Derek?

Laura: [shakes her head] He said Flack's FBI guy should be there soon though.

Peter: [sighs] Not sure how fond I am of the FBI getting involved.

Laura: Flack says he isn't calling him in because he's FBI but because he knows the world.

Peter: That only makes it slightly better. FBI makes this all too real.

Stiles: [he's just going to stay quiet, since he was the last kidnapping victim in the pack. twice over]

Laura: [she nods] There's not much else we can do right now.

Peter: Someone has to have seen where they went. It would be very hard for them to drag two girls off campus without some kind of trail.

Laura: They're checking the security cameras and talking to anyone in Malia's class.

Stiles: They could probably slip into the subways. I mean, there's parts of the subway you can't access normally. I think a line runs under campus.

Laura: Where?

Stiles: Yeah, You've got Worth station and 18th. Worth would be darker since they show off 18th when you ride the 4/5. And there's a length of a few blocks going east from the F line around Lafayette.

Laura: [and she's going to pull out her phone and text this to Derek as Stiles talks, just so he has the information. As much as she wants to leave and scour the city for her sisters, she knows she can't make herself a target right now]

Derek: [text back asking if Stiles knows that they went into the subways, because there's no evidence of it]

Laura: Derek says there's no evidence of it. Did you see anything around there?

Stiles: No, I didn't see anything. All I could smell was Cora's fear.

Laura: [relays that to Derek with a frown] I'm honestly surprised there wasn't more blood. Malia wouldn't have let herself get taken easily.

Peter: [deep, measured breath because nope, not thinking of his daughter bleeding] Which would mean either there was a druid involved with them, or wolfsbane of some sort.

Laura: [nods] Probably. If they were keeping them alive.

Stiles: But they wouldn't gain power from killing someone else's betas, would they?

Peter: [shakes his head] Not that I've heard of. [he looks at Laura] He would want you to do it.

Laura: That's what we're assuming. But ... I didn't make Cora and Malia. [the only beta she's actually made is Stiles]

Stiles: [nods] And now I get when I'm on lockdown. [reaches for an eggroll]

Peter: We're different, in a way. We’re born - our line continues to follow the power that made our family. Far, far back in the family line, that power that you inherited was the power that made us, not through bite but through birth. We're all betas to the power that's in your, so we're your betas now.

Laura: Yeah, well, things also aren't always as clean as they would like. I don't think they're above killing them either.

Peter: Which is why we're going to find them.

Laura: [nods, more out of habit than anything else. She glances down at her barely-touched food and then shakes her head] I ... need some air. Let me know if Derek calls. [she's not leaving the penthouse, but she needs some room to breathe for just a second.]

Peter: [watches her go, sighing softly]

Stiles: [waits until she's gone, then looks at Peter] We're going to find them, right?

Peter: [he looks up at Stiles, and he can't be angry at him at the moment, and just reached over to rub at his back] We will find them.

Laura: [the door to her room closes, shutting out the rest of the world so whatever freak out she's about to have stays within the safe space she knows is hers. She's angry and terrified and she doesn't know which emotion will serve her better. so she just sinks down on the side of her bed that's opposite the door, burying her face in her knees and trying to keep her composure together]

Derek: [and he's going to come home since there's nothing left for him to do and it's better he doesn't loom over people at the station.]

Peter: Go see your sister. [points at Laura's room]

Derek: [nods and he goes to quickly strip down to just his jeans and shirt and then he's knocking on the door] Laura?

Laura: [she sucks in a breath in surprise before glancing back to the door, hands coming up to brush at her cheeks] It's open.

Derek: [he's going to open it slowly, slipping inside and closing it behind him. He can smell all her emotions in the room and he's just going to go and slide down to sit next to her]

Laura: [she closes her eyes before slumping against him a bit, taking the support while he's there] Anything?

Derek: They have a new alpha in their pack. A giant. He's the one who grabbed them. Fuckin bastard even smiled at the camera before the feed was cut. They staged it. They wanted us to see the video.

Laura: [shakes her head] I was so stupid. I should have moved us after that mess with Gerard.

Derek: Laura, we have lives here now. Moving wasn't going to be an option unless we went back home, and he'd find us there. I mean, hell, he's probably known the whole time.

Laura: But he didn't know about Stiles.

Derek: I think more people know about Stiles than you want to think. I mean, how many omegas alone live in New York. I bet Wally can give you a number if you asked - and higher than what Verity's logged.

Laura: [her head slumps back against the bed] It doesn't matter. I should have been prepared. I should have watched them more carefully. I should have ... [been a better alpha]

Derek: Hey, stop that now. [he reached across to pull her into him] You cannot predict everything and every outcome, and you know that. Mom wasn't perfect either - if she was we'd all have different lives right now. And Stiles would be dead not from a hunter but his own disease.

Laura: [she leans into him but her eyes are on her hands, curling slightly against the material of her jeans] He scares the shit out of me, Derek. [she means Deucalion, not Stiles]

Derek: Yeah, I know. He scares me too. And I don't really look forward to having to see Ennis again.

Laura: [exhales slowly as she just leans forward, burying her face in his shoulder and pulling herself back together again]

Derek: [he's going to hold her tightly, hitching his chin on her shoulder and just letting himself be the strong shoulder for her.]

Laura: Don't do anything stupid. Please? I just ... this is bad enough I can't lose you too.

Derek: I won't. I already talked to Flack and Kate's going to pick me up and someone will drop me off. I'm not going to be without at least one member of my team.

Laura: Okay. Good. [there's a pause] Not Javi. Beckett or Ryan is fine, but ... [the two of them together makes them both a prime target]

Derek: I'm sure it'll usually be Kate. [he rubs her back] Espo wanted to come home with me, but I told him to call first since I wasn't sure what your next play was.

Laura: [closes her eyes for a moment before shaking her head] He can't ... he shouldn't be here. Not until this blows over.

Derek: Yeah, I know that. But he's just as protective of you as you are of him. He wants to help take care of us. Of you.

Laura: I know. But I can't put him at risk, not when we still don't understand what's going on with me and him. Not after Gerard.

Derek: Do you love him, Laura?

Laura: [she nods once, her eyes dropping down to her hands for a moment] He's my heart.

Derek: Then he's going to always be in danger, like the rest of us. He's pack now. Keeping him away also puts him in danger.

Laura: I don't know what else to do. All I know right now is I'm going to be ground zero for however this ends and I don't want him anywhere near it.

Derek: [he nuzzled her cheek] If that's your call. Just remember he's an angry, stubborn Hispanic man and he may not take to it well. Or listen.

Laura: I know.

Derek: And honestly, having a military trained Special Forces sniper in your back pocket is an advantage he may not know fully about.

Laura: Maybe. But I can't even think about strategy right now until I know what the playing field is.

Derek: Then we go on the defensive. He took them for a reason. If he wanted to kill them, they'd be dead already. He wouldn't stage it in a way I'd be able to find that video.

Laura: So why just take them?

Derek: Why do people take hostages? Leverage. He knows he has power over you while he has them. Same with those people who took Alexis and Hal. Same when Stiles was taken, same with Kate taking Cora. It gives them power over us.

Laura: Then why haven't they made any demands yet.

Derek: That I don't know. Maybe they want to make you sweat. See how you'll react. See how far they can push you. [licks his lips] Maybe they're testing you.

Laura: [grits her teeth, before shaking her head] I don't like it.

Derek: Well, yeah, I'd hope you wouldn't.

Laura: [she sighs softly, burying her face in her hands] Is there anything else you managed to find? Evidence or video or ... something that indicates where they may have gone?

Derek: Ryan's trying to track down the rental car they had and see what leads they have. We've sent Cora and Malia's pictures to the airports and train stations. The FBI guy will be here in the morning and we'll see what the next step is.

Laura: So I guess right now the only thing I can do is wait. [which she doesn't like but she doesn't have a choice]

Derek: And see what other avenues we can utilize to get information.

Laura: [nods] Okay.

Derek: [nods, rubbing her back] Come on, have you actually eaten yet?

Laura: [shakes her head] I'm not hungry.

Derek: Alright, well why don't you call Espo and give him the order you know he's not going to follow, and then get some sleep. Peter and I will keep watch.

Laura: [swallows and nods, hands coming up to brush at her cheeks again] Okay.

Derek: [presses his forehead against hers] We will find them, Laura. Just hold onto that right now. [it's all he has at the moment]

Laura: [nods, staying with him for a moment, before letting him go to head back into the main area]

Derek: [and he's going to just stand there outside the door a moment and take a deep breath before heading to the table where Peter is eating and Stiles has his laptop out to do homework while eating. He goes to make a plate, and they sit in silence except for when Stiles' phone beeps with a text message]

Laura: [pulls out her phone and climbs into bed, taking a deep breath as she brings up Espo's number and places the phone to her ear]

Esposito: [he's still at the station, running down the ez-pass that the rental car has to find a path. He sees the phone and motions to Ryan that he's taking the call and goes to wander into the breakroom] Hey girl, how you holding up?

Laura: [she sighs softly, closing her eyes at the sound of his voice and trying to relax so that she doesn't sound like she's constantly on the edge] About as well as can be expected.

Esposito: You want me to come over there once I'm done here and keep you company?

Laura: No. [which is the hard part because there's a part of her that wants it more than anything but she knows that this is what she needs to do] In fact, it's probably better if you keep your distance for a little while.

Esposito: Let me guess - you're afraid what happened last time could happen again.

Laura: I'm afraid of a lot of things. And this guy scares me a hell of a lot more than Gerard does and you're more expendable in his eyes.

Esposito: And the reason the bastard got me last time was because I was alone and away from the rest of you.

Laura: So don't be alone. But I'm the epicenter of all of this so you can't be here. Maybe you and Beckett can set up a buddy system or something.

Esposito: [licks his lips, sitting on the edge of the table] Laura, your fights are my fights. I'm already in this whether you want it or not. Pushing me away ain't helping you.

Laura: You don't get it. [she buries her face in her hands for a moment before taking another breath] They want to make it so that I don't have anything to lose. Push me into destroying everything I care about so that they don't do it for me. I can't have you close enough to be used as leverage, because if I lose you ... [she might as well take everything else down with her]

Esposito: Yeah, well you really think I'm going to be sitting back here knowing these bastards are going after you and doing nothing?

Laura: No. But I need you to stay away from me. [she doesn't care if he works the case because at least if he does that he's around other cops and hopefully safe, but he can't be her boyfriend. Not right now.]

Esposito: Don't do this to me, Laura. You know you need me.

Laura: [yeah she does. more than she'd care to admit.] It's not just them I'm protecting you from. [it's her and what could happen if all of this goes wrong and while right now, where she's standing she couldn't ever see herself taking Deucalion's deal, but she doesn't know what kind of game he's playing and she knows she can't take any more loss than she already has.]

Esposito: [he growled a bit] If I was a wolf, would you be saying the same thing to me right now?

Laura: Yeah, I would. [she can't get rid of her family and Stiles is hers and going to be a target no matter what she does, but odds are if Espo was a werewolf, he wouldn't be hers. Not part of her pack, not yet.]

Esposito: [it still stung. Because that meant he wasn't family to her.] Fine, but I'm not going to happy about this. [you can hear the anger in his voice] You're making the wrong choice here.

Laura: [no. It was more than that. And the anger hurts too, but if it keeps him alive, she can't really say she cares at the moment] Guess we'll see.

Esposito: Guess we will. Until then, I've got some important police work to focus on. When you're ready to talk to me again, you know the number. [and yes, he's hanging up on you, Laura. Pissy man is pissy]

Laura: [doesn't really blame him. and she's going to hang up herself and just ... stay in bed for a while]

Stiles: [when he's done with the homework he has, and Peter and Derek are off talking, he's going to sneak up to Laura's room and stick his head in] You okay?

Laura: [she's quiet for a moment, before deciding a response that isn't really a response at all] I don't know.

Stiles: [he closes the door and goes to sit on the edge of the bed with her] Do you want some company?

Laura: [there's a look on her face for a moment like she isn't entirely sure what to say but in the end she just nods, because being alone right now would probably be worse]

Stiles: [and he's going to nod and just slide up in the bed and sit against the headboard, letting her curl up into his lap]

Laura: [which she will do and probably not say much of anything. she's used up her capacity for words for the day. right now she will probably just lie there until she passes out]

Stiles: [and since he really doesn't have anywhere else to go, or even a room of his own in the penthouse... he'll just stay there and sleep after Laura passes out]
