canon au } { post-502, of burgers and awesome roommates
Parrish: [and it's his day off, so after Laura left, Parrish is at the balcony grill, making some burgers and sipping a beer]
Lindsay: [makes her way in after her shift and groans at the smell] Oh my God that smells good.
Parrish: Good thing I've made enough for both of us. [grins through the doorway.] You want cheese or no?
Lindsay: Cheese please.
Parrish: I'd offer you bacon but we're out of it again. [late breakfast/early lunch saw the end of the last of it]
Lindsay: Nah, I'm good without so long as we have pickles.
Parrish: Yeah, those are all yours.
Lindsay: Sweet. Let me just grab a shower and I'll be right out.
Parrish: Alright. [it's not going to be long before the food is ready and he's got the burgers made and the patio table set]
Lindsay: [makes her way out as she's toweling her hair dry and drops into the chair across from him] You are the best roommate ever.
Parrish: Well, so are you. You've been doing nothing but speaking my praises to anyone who can get me off desk duty.
Lindsay: Hey, I know desk duty. It is a hardship no man should suffer.
Parrish: Yeah, well I have a feeling it's going to be a moot point for a while.
Lindsay: What do you mean?
Parrish: I take it you didn't hear?
Lindsay: I heard that you had a bad call.
Parrish: Yeah. It was a very bad call. [he took a bite of his burger, knowing that his stomach was still iffy on food]
Lindsay: [and now she's sitting up, worried] What happened?
Parrish: [and he tells her about how the call went] And I lost consciousness just as I was hearing Stilinski's voice entering the room. He... well from what they told me... I was dead. For a while.
Lindsay: [her face softens a bit and she runs a hand over her face] Shit.
Parrish: He's afraid of me. I saw it in his eyes.
Lindsay: He's worried for you. There's a difference.
Parrish: He pointed a gun at me.
Lindsay: Why the hell did he do that?
Parrish: He was afraid. I could see it in his eyes. Afraid I would come back violent again.
Lindsay: Did you?
Parrish: [he nods] I reigned it back in. Laura being there helped. But it was just like last time - I woke up wanting to find the person who killed me and destroy them.
Lindsay: I think that's a very natural reaction to being killed.
Parrish: I'm worried that the next time if happens... I'm not going to be able to stop.
Lindsay: You will. And if you don't, I'll stop you.
Parrish: [nods] That's what I was hoping. I don't want Laura to be the one what had to do it. She's had enough tragedy in her life... I can't ask that of her.
Lindsay: Hey, I'm not going to be your suicide by cop. But I'll tie you down until you ride it out.
Parrish: But if I can't. If it comes down to me or someone else...
Lindsay: Then I'll do my job. But there are a lot of supernaturals out there who have survived and gotten a handle on themselves. You'll do it too.
Parrish: And I'm not saying I'm not going to try. I'm going to fight this and hopefully figure it out. I just don't want anyone innocent getting hurt because of me either.
Lindsay: Don't worry. I won't let that happen.
Parrish: [nods] Thanks. But either way, I'm pretty sure Stilinski isn't putting me back in the line of fire ever again.
Lindsay: Don't worry. Things we'll start to get crazy again and he'll have to put you back in the field.
Parrish: I hope that it doesn't get too crazy. That maybe this was an isolated incident.
Lindsay: Fingers crossed.
Parrish: All of them.
Lindsay: Until then, don't worry about being in the field.
Parrish: [nods, picking his burger back then] Just remind me not to go out alone anymore, even on a noise complaint.
Lindsay: I'm surprised they let you out without me to begin with.
Parrish: Too many people running too many different directions. Only reason he let me out was because it was a noise complaint.
Lindsay: A noise complaint is never just a noise complaint in Beacon Hills. He should know better by now.
Parrish: And now Stilinski's kid is convinced that there's something wrong with this new kid in town.
Lindsay: Anything of merit?
Parrish: Nope, just his paranoia. At least so far.
Lindsay: What's the name? I'll keep an eye out.
Parrish: Theo Raeken.
Lindsay: [nods] Got it.
Parrish: So what's going on on your end?
Lindsay: Business as usual. Patrol patrol patrol.
Parrish: Could you do me a favor? There's this girl Lydia's friends with, and I think something's going on with her. Maybe see if you can swing by her place at night, make sure everything is on the up and up?
Lindsay: Sure. Just send me the address.
Parrish: I'll text it to you later.
Lindsay: Perfect.
