new york wolves } of baby werewolves and real food

Liam: [and he will catch the scent of the baby werewolf outside an abandoned warehouse. There's a boarded up window that's slightly askew like it was moved recently]

Nik: [ambling over but he is so not small enough to fit through that window, so he'll be making his way around to find the door]

Liam: [and it's boarded up and chained, the door not touched for years from the rust on the nails]

Nik: [casually breaks in easily, before opening the door and looking around]

Liam: [and that wakes the sleeping teen up, and he will skirt to hide behind the crates in the shadows]

Nik: [glances around, before speaking into the darkness] I know you're here. I'm also bigger and faster, so you might as well give up the ghost before you make me catch you.

Liam: [nope, he's going to just keep quiet and in the shadows, pulling his hood up over his head to hide himself better]

Nik: [sighs and takes a deep breath, sifting through the old scents in the warehouse for the baby wolf's] Alright. Guess we do this the hard way.

Liam: [it's not going to be hard. There's a pile of snack wrappers near a nest that includes a few rags that could pass as clothes, a blanket and pillow that's seen it's better days, a few discarded wallets, and some batteries. Liam's walking carefully away from it, though, circling the wall in the shadows to try and get to the front door while the big wolf comes further inside]

Nik: [yep, except Nik is tracking the very soft footfalls moving away from him, and after locating the nest and extrapolating whereabouts Liam might be along the wall considering the speed he's moving, he's going to turn suddenly, darting forward with the force of a very muscular freight train, aiming to grab Liam by the scruff of his neck and heft him up into the air]

Liam: [damn he almost made it. But the tiny wolf is going to kick at the man with all his little werewolf strength anyway] Let me go!

Nik: [he can try, but Nik can take a few hits and will just holding there, waiting for him to tire himself out] Nope. You're tiny for a trespasser, but you're still trespassing.

Liam: And what are you, the cops? [all the hatred a kid can put into his stare is aimed at Nik]

Nik: Nope. [then his eyes flash gold] Not that kind of trespassing.

Liam: [his eyes widen, flashing back. And then he panics.... and that is a direct kick aimed at the jewels to get himself free]

Nik: [and his hand comes up to catch that leg this time because wow, kid. really?] That? That's just rude. [sighs] Look, I'm not here to hurt you. But my alpha is going to want to talk to you.

Liam: I don't want to talk to any alphas.

Nik: Well, that's too damn bad. Should have thought of that before you wandered onto someone else's turf.

Liam: I didn't do anything wrong. I'm just passing through.

Nik: You got people calling the cops about you.

Liam: Not my fault humans are stupid.

Nik: Yeah, but you know what kind of humans aren't stupid? Hunters.

Liam: No, they're extra stupid.

Nik: [sighs. ah the bravado of youth] Look, I can't just let you go without taking you to Victor. I'm not above resorting to bribery. I'll buy you a burger on the way.

Liam: Didn't you hear me the first time? I ain't going to talk to no alpha!

Nik: You really think you have a better option right now? Because I could just leave you to the Hales, but I don't think you want that. Their enforcer and the alpha's mate are actually cops. So you could go to juvie. Or you could come home with me and have a solid dinner. Those are your choices.

Liam: [scowls.] Fine. I'll go with you.

Nik: Excellent choice. [a beat] If I put you down are you going to run? [totally listening to his heartbeat for a lie]

Liam: I doubt it'd work anyway. [which means he wants to, but won't]

Nik: Smart kid. [and he places him down gently] Grab your stuff and let's get out of here.

Liam: [scowls and goes to get the few things he has, shoving them in a garbage bag. It's not a lot. He leaves the trash behind]

Nik: [nods and places a hand on his shoulder before leading the way out to the car] So what's your fast food of choice?

Liam: [shrugs] Whatever I can get?

Nik: No preference? McDonalds, Burger King ... ?

Liam: [shakes his head] You don't have In and Out Burgers here.

Nik: Alrighty then. Local burger place it is. [and he will unlock the doors to the SUV he drove there, opening the passenger seat and gesturing for Liam to join him inside] What's your name?

Liam: Liam. [and he's going to just stare out the window. He still doesn't want to be there]

Nik: [is not surprised. But as they start to drive he will call his favorite diner to place an order for two burgers with fries, plus whatever Leah and Victor usually get so that it's ready for him to pick up and he doesn't have to leave Liam alone in the car for too long. and also will flirt with the waitress. he did say it was his favorite place]

Liam: [and he will totally be going through the glovebox while Nik is inside. Plus he can't reach the peddles so stealing the car isn't going to happen]

Nik: [he's not going to find much beyond the usual glove box things, but soon Nik is back in the car with that really delicious smelling food and they're heading back to the Kirsanov penthouse.]

Liam: [yeah, and his stomach is going to be growling because OMG real food that isn't stolen of pulled out of a dumpster]

Nik: [glances over because even he can hear that. He reaches back, pulling out one of the containers and sniffing it to make sure it's Liam's burger, before handing it over to him] Here. Just don't choke on it.

Liam: [he watched Nik a moment, and then just snatched it from him, hovering over the burger and wolfing it down. He almost looks like a dog that will growl and bite if someone tried to steal the food from him]

Nik: [fortunately, Nik isn't going to. He's going to drive them into the garage beneath their building and turn off the car] Good burger?

Liam: It was alright. [it was the best thing he's had in years, but he's not going to act like it]

Nik: Uh-huh. [tips his head to the side as he grabs the rest of the food] C'mon. Let's get inside.

Liam: [and reluctantly he will follow, gripping his little trash bag tightly]

Nik: [and they will head up to the very fancy penthouse, Nik letting them in the front door and calling in] Food's here!

Leah: [deep sigh] That did not take you nearly long enough.

Nik: [makes a gagging expression because he's twelve]

Liam: [wrinkles his nose. It's funny, but he's trying not to play like he's liking Nik.]

Leah: [makes her way out of the bedroom dressed in her pajamas and blinks when she sees Liam] And you brought company.

Nik: Meet the wild dog terrorizing the warehouse district.

Leah: [she smirks] Hi there, kid. I'm Leah.

Liam: Liam. Hey. [his hands go into his pocket, and he's just looking at the penthouse. Well, more like casing the joint, but same difference]

Leah: [she nods before reaching out a hand to take the food from Nik, mentally counting the containers before frowning] You didn't get anything for him?

Nik: He ate it in the car.

Leah: [back to Liam] You still hungry? I can make you a sandwich or something.

Liam: [he just shakes his head. Totally is, but he's nervous and trying not to show it]

Leah: [nods] Okay. Well, we're all going to eat in here. C'mon. [and she'll turn and hold out a hand for him to take if he wants to, but otherwise she's just gesturing that he can move ahead of her]

Liam: [he'll eye her hand, and just move on his own. He left his bag right at the door, though. His hands only come out of his pockets as he used them to climb into the chair at the table - the one closest to the door - and then back in as he sits, trying not to eye their food like the starved wolf he is]

Victor: [Leah sets up the table as Victor appears in a Jets t-shirt and jeans, and stops when he sees Liam] Ah. You must be our "wild dog" problem. I'm Victor.

Liam: Liam. [yup, that's it. But he can tell he's the alpha and just looks at the table]

Victor: [nods, watching him for a moment before moving to sit on the corner next to him, while Leah and Nik take up the opposite corner, chatting about inane family things, mostly including Leah's siblings, while Nik devours his own burger with pleased happy noises] Are you hungry?

Liam: I ate already.

Victor: Okay. [and he will open his meal which looks like a Reuben and fries, starting to eat as he talks to Liam] So where are you from, Liam?

Liam: California.

Victor: Huh. So are our neighbors. What part of California?

Liam: San Fran.

Victor: My sister loves that city. Then again, she loves anything on the water. She's partial to the view.

Liam: [shrugs his shoulders]

Victor: Did you have a pack there?

Liam: [nods]

Victor: Did they come with you to New York?

Liam: [shakes his head]

Victor: [then, gentler] Are they still in San Francisco?

Liam: [shakes his head]

Victor: [his face softens a bit and he nods] I'm sorry.

Liam: [just shrugs, but he's looking at the table]

Victor: Why did you come to New York?

Liam: Why not?

Victor: Do you have family here?

Liam: [shakes his head]

Victor: Do you need somewhere to stay?

Liam: I was just fine until you sent him after me. [and there is the stubborn kid]

Victor: [raises an eyebrow at his brother]

Nik: He was living in an abandoned warehouse and sustaining himself on candy. He devoured that burger like he hadn't eaten a decent meal in weeks.

Victor: [and back to Liam] That doesn't exactly sound just fine to me. What if the police had found you?

Liam: They wouldn't. Haven't so far.

Victor: They would have eventually. Some things are inevitable. The police and hunters are two of those things.

Liam: I was fine.

Victor: [stubborn child. He doesn't give any outward sign of it bothering him though] You can stay here if you want. I'm sure the bed in our guest room is much nicer than your warehouse.

Liam: [he looked around, and then shook his head] Thanks, but no thanks. I don't need any help.

Victor: Do you? An omega on your own in a city run by two very old and very influential packs? Never mind the remnants of the Ivanov pack that still like lurking around corners.

Liam: I was leaving New York anyway. [well, he wasn't until now. Now he was because they found him]

Victor: And going where?

Liam: Jersey. Maybe Philly. Haven't decided.

Victor: Jersey has a number of complicated pack structures. Philadelphia is a war zone. [he gives him a look] You're going to give up guaranteed safety for the unknown?

Liam: I don't want to be in a pack.

Victor: That wasn't what I offered.

Liam: I don't want your help, okay? I just want to go!

Victor: Go where, Liam? [Liam's stubborn, but Victor can be equally so] Do you really want to spend the rest of your life running?

Liam: I don't care! You're not my alpha, and you're not my parents. If you want me to leave your territory, I'll be out tonight but I don't have to answer to you.

Victor: No, you're right. You don't. [he sighs for a moment, before shifting and reaching for his wallet on the counter behind him, pulling out a business card and placing it on the table in front of him] But eventually something is going to catch up to you and you're going to get into trouble. And if you need help, you can always reach me at that number. Alright? I know you don't want my help, but one day you might need it.

Liam: [he licks his lips, and then quick as a flash swipes the car up and sticks it into his pocket] Yeah, sure.

Victor: Sure you don't want to spend the night here?

Liam: Yup.

Victor: Don't want any food for the road? My wife makes a mean sandwich.

Liam: [shrugs] If you want.

Leah: [glances over and gets up] Sure. I think we've got enough for me to whip something up.

Liam: [and he will sink back into his seat, sulking like the kid he is]

Victor: [smirks and Leah will fix him a large sub, wrapped to go with all the fixings]

Liam: [and he will just take it] Thank you. [the kid has manners!]

Leah: No problem. Remember your way out?

Liam: Yeah. Is the big guy driving me back or am I walking?

Leah: Up to you.

Liam: [he looks at Nik, then shrugs] I can make it on my own. [And he'll slide out of the chair, heading to his little garbage bag of things and putting the sandwich inside]

Nik: [looks like he really wants to protest that but Victor shakes his head so he nods] Alright. See you around, kid.

Liam: [and off he will go. He will go back to his warehouse but oh look, the door's open so it's been overrun with homeless people. So he's going to just sigh and start to wander to find someplace else to stay]

Victor: [door's open if he wants it. just saying]

Liam: [nope, stubborn 11 year old is just going to find himself a fire escape that looks half decent and will sleep on that. Or try. More just curled around his bag, and rationing out his sandwich]

Victor: [sigh. Victor will keep an eye on him but won't push him until he's ready]

Liam: [which probably won't happen until he ends up getting mugged by a group of teenagers trying to get the few things he has, and he may be a wolf but there's six of them]

Victor: [poor poor Liam]

Marcus: [and of course he gets sent to the hospital because some good Samaritan wanted to help, and who else is on duty but Marcus keeping up his license by doing rotations at the ER. He sees the healing and takes the chart, closing the door. They talk, and then he goes to the office and closes the door and dials Victor]

Victor: [and a grumpy alpha answers the phone] Aren't you supposed to be saving lives?

Marcus: Of course, which is the point of this call. Were you aware there is an eleven year old omega in your territory?

Victor: Yes. But he's very stubborn so we're working on it. What happened?

Marcus: Victim of gang brutality. He should have a broken arm, leg, face and lung, but he's going to live. However, he has no guardian and child services will be coming to collect him in an hour. He's in no condition to slip out the back door at the moment.

Victor: [sighs] I'm on my way.

Marcus: Thank you. I'll keep him sedated so that the sarcasm is dulled.

Victor: I appreciate it. [and with that he will head down to the hospital]

Marcus: [and he will meet him and show him to the bed that Liam is curled up in. He's a mess of bruises, but looks better than he should] I made a notation that you're a family friend that is babysitting him while his parents are out of town.

Victor: Thank you. [goes to sit next to the bed]

Liam: [his eyes crack open] He called you?

Victor: Yep. He's my emissary. He was worried about there being a young omega in my territory - he didn't know we already knew each other.

Liam: Oh. [and he curls up a bit more, and then whimpers in pain]

Victor: He made a note on your chart that I'm your guardian to get around you being put in the system.

Liam: So I have to go home with you?

Victor: For tonight, it would probably be a good idea. At least until you're all healed up.

Liam: [he looked at Victor a moment, as if he was trying to judge the alpha for something, then nodded] Okay.

Victor: Okay. I'll go talk to Marcus and see how soon we can sign you out.

Liam: Okay. [and he will just stay there in his little ball of pain]

Marcus: [is already writing up the paperwork needed because he knows Victor that well]

Victor: [heads over to find him] What do I need to sign?

Marcus: Just this. I wrote that I had verbal authorization from his family to let him be released with you.

Victor: Excellent. [and he signs it quickly] Because I'm fairly certain his family is no longer with us.

Marcus: I get that feeling. Honestly, I feel that there's a lot more to his story than he wants to tell anyone.

Victor: I wouldn't be surprised. But that will take more trust than I have with him at the moment. [he sighs] Does he need to stay for the police?

Marcus: No. He didn't want them called.

Victor: Alright. Then let's get him home.

Marcus: I'll get the discharge papers and meet you at his room with a wheelchair.

Victor: Sounds good.

Marcus: [and he will go off and do that]

Liam: [and he's still in his tiny ball, his eyes looking up when Victor comes back] Can we leave now?

Victor: [nods as he goes to sit on the edge of the bed] Yeah. Marcus is going to get a wheelchair, so as soon as he gets back we can go.

Liam: And I'm only staying until I heal.

Victor: Absolutely. We won't keep you a minute longer.

Liam: [and he will be silent until Marcus shows up with the wheelchair. But he whimpers in pain trying to move to get into it]

Victor: [reaches out and places a hand on his shoulder gently, pulling a little bit of the pain to help him move]

Liam: [that helps, and he gets into the chair after a bit more, but it's really little, and it could carry two of him]

Victor: [sighs as he takes the handles] C'mon, kid. Let’s go home.

Liam: [and he'll go quietly, except for the occasional whimper with bumps]

Victor: [and into the car they'll go to head on their way to the penthouse, where Leah has already made up the room for him]

Liam: [and when they get there, he's not able to walk well, taking him time. There is also no bag as all his possessions were stolen too]

Victor: [doesn't rush him, and thankfully there's an elevator so they don't have to walk far. Victor will just lead him right to the guest room with the big comfy bed] Are you hungry?

Liam: A bit. [it's been a long time since he was in a real bed, and he curls into the covers]

Victor: Do you like pizza?

Liam: Yeah. With pepperoni.

Victor: Perfect. You rest, I will order up some pizzas.

Liam: Thank you. [and he will probably pass out until it gets there. Tired, healing little puppy]

Victor: [yep that's fine. He'll even wait about an hour to actually order to give him some sleep time, and have it delivered so that they're maximizing his sleep potential.]

Liam: [and there's some whimpers as he sleeps, mainly from bad dreams, but he won't wake up during them]

Victor: [and Leah will alternate checking in on them, but eventually he will take one of the pies and bring them into the room] Liam?

Liam: [and smell will rouse him] I'm here.

Victor: I brought you some pizza, but Leah and I were going to watch a movie if you want to come out and join us instead.

Liam: [he's hesitant, for so many reasons, but finally] What movie?

Victor: Haven't decided yet. Leah likes buddy cop action movies, but I'm more of a superhero guy. You could be the tiebreaker, if you want.

Liam: [he thinks a moment, then nods] Okay. [and he will slowly slip out of the bed. He stripped off his sweatshirt and shoes while in the bed, so he's a disheveled and dirty little boy in jeans and a threadbare t-shirt with holey socks]

Victor: [nods before leading the way out] Do you want to take a shower?

Liam: Maybe. I don't have anything to change into though, so I'll just be dirty after.

Victor: [shakes his head] I'm sure we have something. If anything we can send out for something in your size - it could be here by the time you're done.

Liam: Must be nice to be rich like that.

Victor: [he shrugs] We worked hard for what we have. I try to pay it forward when I can.

Liam: [he just nods, following Victor to the room with the TV, though he's more following the pizza because now he's starving again]

Leah: [glances up with a smile when she sees him] Hey, Liam. How're you feeling?

Liam: Better. Hungry.

Leah: [gestures to the pizza box as Victor puts it down] Knock yourself out.

Liam: [and he will grab two slices, turning one upside down like a pizza sandwich and starting to eat.]

Leah: [smirks a bit as she leans back with the remote, turning on Netflix] So what are we watching?

Liam: [looks at Victor] Captain America?

Victor: [grins] I will second that.

Leah: [sighs] Captain America it is.

Liam: You can do the second one? It's kinda buddy cop like?

Victor: Have we seen the second one?

Leah: The last Marvel movie I remember was the one with the ants. [shudders]

Liam: I didn't see that one.

Leah: Don't. Not worth it.

Victor: [makes a face] I liked it. You just don't like ants.

Leah: [give him a look before flipping through the movies annnnnnd ...] Is it this one? Winter Soldier?

Liam: Yeah, that's it. [and he's done with his first two slices so he will do one at a time now, sitting up in the chair and probably getting oily fingers all over the furniture.]

Leah: Alright. Let's do it. [and with that she will settle back with Victor and they will make their way through the pizzas]

Liam: [and he will keep to his little separate corner, watching the movie and slowly making his way through almost an entire pie]

Victor: [will not judge him, as he's going through a pizza and a half himself]

Liam: [and he will start to drift off after a bit, still healing. The picture of a tired, dirty child for a moment not being guarded or jaded]

Leah: [glances over and she rests her chin on Victor's shoulder] We can't let him back out there this time.

Victor: [turns and kisses her gently] I will do my best.

Liam: [and eventually his head is going to fall off the arm of the chair and he jerks awake]

Victor: [glances over] How you doin' kid?

Liam: I didn't mean to fall asleep. [he sits up more]

Victor: It's okay. You've been through a lot.

Liam: I didn't start it, I promise.

Victor: I didn't think you did.

Liam: I just wanted my phone back. It had pictures on it.

Victor: Do you remember the faces of the kids who took it?

Liam: Kinda.

Victor: If you can describe them we can try and track them down.

Liam: [nods] I'd like to try. It's all I really have.

Victor: [he nods, reaching for his phone to text his brother] Where did it happen? Do you remember?

Liam: [he remembers the alley, and he can describe two of the teenagers at least, trying to remember it as he picks at the edge of the couch]

Victor: [plops that all down in a text and sends it off to Nik] If Nik finds anything, he'll bring it home with him. I'll also send that to one of the detectives I know and see if he can keep an ear out.

Liam: [nods] I just want it back.

Victor: We will do our best. [and he'll send a modified version of the text to Derek too]

Derek: [sadly, the phone was already sold in one of those pay for electronic booths, but Nik can probably get the location if he works it out of them]

Nik: [which he will. because he is large and intimidating]

Liam: [totally at the mall]

Nik: [and to the mall he will go to try and see if he can get it out of the booth/clerk/whatever]

Liam: [machine. he will have to break into it. and there will be a lot of phones, but there will be an android phone that smells like Liam]

Nik: [he will have asked Victor for the number so he can call it]

Liam: [and he gives it, and the phone still has power and rings!]

Nik: Yahtzee. [and he will get it and put the machine back together before bringing it home]

Liam: [and he will have gotten caught up in another movie as they wait. He's not hungry anymore, but movies are good]

Nik: [and he will just sneak up behind him and hold the phone out in front of him]

Liam: [and his face will light up with the first smile since they met him as he reached for the phone] You found it!

Nik: It took some finagling but yep. [and he will go drop down and steal some of the leftover pizza]

Liam: [and he is going to go into the photos and there he will just sigh in relief as there is a series of photos of him with what is his mother, father, and brother.] Thank you. So much.

Nik: No problem.

Liam: It's all I have left. Of my family. [he's just looking at the pictures]

Nik: Then I'm glad I could find it.

Leah: [looks over at him gently] What happened to them?

Liam: [he thought a moment, and then looked at Leah] They died. They all died.

Leah: [her face softens a bit before she gets up to make her way over. she sits on the arm of the chair and rubs his shoulders gently] I'm sorry, sweetie. That's something no one should have to go through.

Liam: I was hiding. She couldn't find me. I was there for days to make sure she didn't find me.

Leah: She? Do you know who it was?

Liam: [he nods, looking up at Leah] She was my alpha.

Leah: [she squints] Your alpha did this?

Liam: Yeah. She killed everyone in the pack.

Victor: [pauses, before shifting forward to look at him] Was your alpha Kali?

Liam: [he looked at Victor, and then nodded] Yeah.

Victor: [exhales slowly] Well, if you're worried about her finding you, you don't have to. She's dead. The Hales took her out last year.

Liam: [and he relaxes a bit] They did?

Victor: [he nods] Most of the alpha pack is dead, with the exception of the twins.

Liam: Good. [a lot of hate for an 11 year old]

Victor: [can't really say he blames them] So you don't have to worry about her being a threat.

Liam: So I don't have to keep running. Still doesn't mean it won't happen again.

Victor: [eyebrow raise] Not sure I'm following.

Liam: She wasn't the only alpha who killed their pack for power. Not even in the alpha pack. Ones who knew what it would do. I won't be in a pack again. I'm safer not in one.

Victor: Are you sure about that? I don't think living on the streets has kept you very safe so far.

Liam: I'm learning to survive. I've been on the street for three years. I haven’t' died yet.

Victor: No, but you've still wound up in the hospital.

Liam: I healed.

Victor: Next time you might not.

Liam: [and he scowls]

Victor: [sighs as he leans back in his seat] You don't have to be part of my pack. But I don't think you can honestly say that you wouldn't prefer a real bed with real food.

Liam: ......... No, I can't.

Victor: [he takes a deep breath before leaning forward] So how about we make a deal. I won't ask you to join my pack. You're not obligated to me in any way. But for my wife's peace of mind, because she will never let me hear the end of it otherwise - you stay here with us. You'll be safe and off the streets, three square meals a day and a comfortable bed to sleep in. You could even go back to school if you wanted.

Liam: [looks up at Leah] Really? [school? Are you serious?]

Leah: [she shrugs] Who knows? You might get bored.

Liam: [he wrinkled his nose] No school.

Leah: [chuckles softly] Alright. No school. [for now]

Liam: [thinks, then sighs] Well, it's not like you don't have the room. Or money.

Victor: That is very true.

Liam: Then okay. I'll stay for a while.

Leah: [smiles and gives him a small squeeze] Good. First things first, we gotta get you some clean clothes.

Liam: And I guess that means I need to shower now.

Leah: Sounds like a good idea. You hit the bathroom, I'll get you some pjs.

Liam: [and he will smile and get up] Okay. Thank you. [and he will go off, clutching his phone as he goes...] Wait, where is it?

Leah: There should be one attached to the room we put you in.

Liam: And there's soap already in it?

Leah: Yep. If you need anything else just poke your head out and one of us will get it for you.

Liam: Okay. [and off he'll go. He's going to make a mess of the bathroom since he hasn't been in a real one in forever, and he's tiny, but eventually he will be showered and looking like a tiny, scrawny, clean boy]

Leah: [and Leah will have left a clean set of clothes on the bed for him, as well as changed the sheets since they probably got dirty from having him in them]

Liam: [and he will change into them and wander back out, looking for them]

Victor: [Nik is gone but Victor and Leah are sitting curled up on the couch. He glances over when he sees him] Hey. Did the shower help?

Liam: Yeah. I scrubbed really good.

Victor: Good.

Leah: I can take you shopping tomorrow to get some more clothes and other stuff you need.

Liam: I can pick out whatever I want?

Leah: Sure.

Liam: I haven't had new stuff in years.

Leah: [smiles softly] Then you can go nuts.

Liam: Awesome.

Leah: Do you like sports?

Liam: Skateboarding.

Leah: Okay.

Liam: And I like music.

Leah: [she smiles] Okay. We can work with that.

Liam: Cool. [he likes you, Leah. You're his favorite person]

Leah: [WINNER]

Victor: [he will just let her keep winning him over, to be honest] I think there's a skate park around here too.

Liam: Can I get a skateboard too?

Leah: Maybe. We'll see if we can find one.

Liam: Okay.

Leah: Okay. We can head down to the mall and hit a bunch of stores at once. What kind of music do you like?

Liam: Alternative.

Leah: Could be worse. My sister went through a heavy metal phase. [she makes a face] That ain't music.

Liam: [his nose wrinkles] I like Imagine Dragons a lot. And Fall Out Boy.

Leah: Alright, that's not so bad.

Liam: I have a few songs on my phone. It's old though and doesn't have a lot of memory. And only a few minutes left.

Leah: We can probably grab you a new phone too. Transfer all your pictures and stuff.

Liam: As long as I don't lose my pictures.

Leah: [she shakes her head] If anything you can keep your old phone just to hold your pictures.

Liam: [he nodded] Okay.

Leah: But right now, I think we all should get some rest.

Liam: And the room's all mine?

Leah: Yep. We can clear out another room for a guest room.

Liam: Cool. [he thinks a moment] You guys are okay.
