regency au } { of sons and missing family

Parrish: [and he will be looking over to his wife, smiling and laughing with the rest of them]

Laura: [gives them all a small smile as she starts to get to her feet] Excuse me. [and she's going to step out to try and figure out if she's actually in labor or if it's just a false alarm]

Parrish: [and he will watch her go, but no, he will just keep paying attention to the birthday girl]

Laura: [and then there's a big contraction that he'll definitely feel through the bond and oh, yep, this is definitely labor]

Parrish: [yeah, that has his eyes open wide and he's getting up and going to find her] Laura?

Laura: [takes a deep breath and she looks up at him] I think the baby's coming.

Parrish: Oh, okay. Well, let's get you to bed and I'll get Melissa to call for Deaton...

Laura: [she nods and off they will go to do that! And Parrish will get kicked out of the room for all that gross labor stuff but now he gets the fun new sensations of all the PAIN that comes with having a baby]

Parrish: [And he will just suffer though it because it's a good thing.]

Melissa: [and eventually will come out with a wrapped bundle while the ladies are cleaning up Laura and the bedroom] Congratulations, my lord. You have a son.

Parrish: A son? I have a son?!

Melissa: [smiles as she holds him out to his father] A son.

Parrish: [and he is going to take the bundle, all smiles as he looks down at the baby] Hello, my son.

Melissa: They're cleaning up Laura, and she needs to rest, but I thought you'd want to see him while you wait.

Parrish: Yes. I will let the rest of the family spend the day with Miranda. They can visit us tomorrow. [and he will go find his chair to sit and bond with his little baby boy]

Laura: [and it will take them a little time to clean everything up and get fresh clothes for Laura, but eventually they will let him back into their chambers where Laura is sleeping]

Parrish: [and he will trust Melissa to help get Amelia from uncle Peter and get her to bed while he takes their son in and sits on the chair near the bed so not to disturb sleeping mommy]

Laura: [yep, Amelia will be taken care of, and eventually, after a few hours Laura will stir, rubbing her eyes gently] Jordan?

Parrish: Good morning, love.

Laura: [she follows the sound of his voice and smiles softly, stretching out a hand to him] Can I see him?

Parrish: No, I plan on keeping him forever. [as he stands to bring the boy over]

Laura: [makes a face at him] Don't make me laugh, I'm still a bit sore.

Parrish: I'm sorry. [and he will sit down on the bed and gently transfer the sleeping baby to her arms]

Laura: [and she will take him gently, smiling softly as she does] Perfect.

Parrish: Yes, he is. [leans over her] Amelia is going to love him.

Laura: Yes, she will. As soon as we give him a name.

Parrish: Lord Jordan Hale the Second?

Laura: [eyebrow raise at that]

Parrish: What, I'm the first of my name. That I know of.

Laura: [she pauses before shaking her head] I don't know. I've never liked the practice of naming a child after the living. They should have their own name.

Jordan: Well, you know I don't have any traditions or history to guide me on stuff like this.

Laura: I know. [sighs softly] Maybe we should think on it?

Jordan: We have time

Laura: We do.

Jordan: [and he looks at his son and smiles, but there is a bit of a sadness on his face a moment as he thinks about Liam]

Laura: [she senses that, and her free hand comes up to rest against his arm gently]

Parrish: I'm going to do better by him than I did with Liam, Laura. I promise.

Laura: [she looks up at him as her hand slides up to rest against his face] You did the best you could with Liam. You and I both did.

Parrish: Yes, but most of the habits he learned were with me. I never stopped his gambling or thievery because it was what allowed us to eat.

Laura: And he was old enough to change his behavior when his situation changed.

Parrish: I know. But still...

Laura: You did the best you could for him. Then and now.

Parrish: I still feel the guilt of it though.

Laura: I know. You miss him, as do I.

Parrish: Malia most. I don't think she will ever forgive us.

Laura: She might, when she hears what happened from him.

Parrish: If she ever sees him again.

Laura: She might. Peter will start taking her on the tournament circuit eventually.

Parrish: True.

Laura: She will come around. Make new friends.

Parrish: [nods] I was actually going to ask your uncle if he felt they would be a good match for marriage. That is not an option now.

Laura: [she laughs] I hope you weren't planning on doing that now. The answer would have been a vehement no.

Parrish: No, I would not now.

Laura: I meant, before everything happened with Liam. He wouldn't marry Malia at all if he had his way.

Parrish: Oh. You don't think he would deny her a family of her own and children?

Laura: He is protective. Malia was his whole world for a long time - he would want someone worthy of her, and I feel you would be hard pressed to find anyone who is.

Parrish: And if she happened to find someone herself?

Laura: I don't know. She has never really seemed interested in that.

Parrish: Some people change when they get older. Or find someone of worth in their eyes.

Laura: [she nods] I know. If there's hope for Cora there is hope for her. But it has always been difficult for her to make friends, even with children her own age.

Parrish: There isn't many her age in the manor.

Laura: No, but she's spent time in other castles. Liam was the first to ... understand her.

Parrish: [sighs] True.

Laura: They'll figure things out in time. Right now, we should just focus on our new baby boy and see what time brings.

Parrish: Yes, that is true. And find a name for him to wear in the meantime.

Laura: [she nods again, before turning her attention back to their son] Thomas was my father's name, but I don't think it suits him.

Parrish: I think of the name Thomas, someone looking like young Lord Stilinski comes to mind.

Laura: [she nods for a moment, before a thought occurs to her] Elena's father name was Gracin. Gracin Hale.

Parrish: Should we ask her first? In case she is waiting to use it herself?

Laura: [she glances up at him before nodding] If you like it. There is no point if you don't.

Parrish: I like it. [names aren't something he really has a love/hate thing with]

Laura: [she nods] Then yes, we should ask her.

Parrish: When they visit later. For now, we can just rest. [and he's going to lay down on the bed, tired]

Laura: [and she will shift to settle with him, letting their son rest in the space between them] I love you.

Parrish: I love you too, Laura

Laura: Good night.

Parrish: [and he is exhausted from being up most of the night and he's out]

Laura: [and she will stay on her side, watching them both until she succumbs to sleep herself]
