Parrish: [he doubted Lydia would want to go hitchhiking across the country. Or drive. Or anything that wasn't first class, to be honest. So it was lucky for them that Nadia was taking a trip back to NY that Parrish was able to convince her to let him and Lydia tag along. Once they touched down though...] I did tell you to pack something you didn't mind walking in the sewers with.
Lydia: Yes, you did. And sadly, I actually own something that qualifies.
Parrish: [he's holding her hand with one hand, the other with his maglight to light the way] Now don't let the females get under your skin. They are very material and self-preservationists.
Lydia: So basically like high school.
Parrish: I guess.
Lydia: Great. Sounds familiar at least.
Parrish: Now, the illusion should be right about... there. [and there is a spot where his flashlight reflects more than it did on the stone walls]
Lydia: [blinks in the light, holding up her hands to shield her eyes]
Parrish: The illusion may throw off your senses for a second as we pass through but you'll be fine once we're in there. Ready?
Lydia: [she nods squeezing his hand] Lead the way.
Parrish: [and through the illusion wall they go, and soon they are in the nest. A bunch of the dragon priestesses and their children stopped to look at the arrivals and Parrish just raised one hand and waved a bit]
Lydia: [her eyes wander over each of them, but she keeps her hand in Parrish's while she waits to be introduced]
Elsie: [and finally one blonde walked over, all smiles] Jordan! You're back. We were just talking about you.
Parrish: Hi, Elsie. Lydia, this is Elsie. Elsie, this is my girlfriend Lydia.
Lydia: [waves with a small smile] Nice to meet you.
Elsie: Nice to finally meet you. Jordan's told us all about you. We were taking bets on if you were real or if you were a dream girl.
Lydia: [hmph] Very real.
Elsie: [tilts her head] And you're really a banshee?
Lydia: Unfortunately.
Elsie: That is so cool.
Lydia: It's a lot different when you actually are one.
Elsie: Can you do the whole throwing people across the room with your voice trick yet?
Lydia: [and at that, her eyebrows go way, way up] No?
Elsie: [looks at Jordan] I thought you said you saw Meredith and she was going to help teach her things?
Parrish: We haven't gotten there yet.
Lydia: That's ... a thing we can do?
Elsie: Yeah. Meredith and I totally went to college together. She was kinda nuts, but that girl had a set of lungs on her. She discovered the trick when we were getting mugged one night, and she kept teaching herself until she could totally do it whenever she needed.
Lydia: Huh.
Parrish: We can still detour back through Chicago on the way home.
Lydia: [she nods with a swallow] Yeah. We wanted to do family first.
Elsie: Well, William is going to be very happy to see you.
Parrish: Is he busy?
Elsie: Nope, I just finished with him.
Lydia: Guess we're heading there next.
Parrish: Come on, you'll love William.
Lydia: [and she'll nod and follow his lead]
Parrish: [and then he will walk Lydia to the area that was William's lair, and they will enter to see a large blue dragon being climbed on by a handful of small children.] Looks like someone got regulated to babysitting duty.
William: Jordan! I didn't think you would be here to visit again so soon.
Lydia: [is .... just going to stare at the dragon for a bit]
Parrish: I did say I was going to come back. And I brought the woman I told you about - Lydia.
William: Ah, hello Lydia.
Lydia: .... Hi.
William: You don't need to be afraid. I won't hurt you anymore than I would these children climbing me
Lydia: That's .... I wouldn't call it fear, exactly? More ... you're not what I was expecting.
William: Well, I have gained some weight since I woke up.
Lydia: [she laughs softly] Not what I meant exactly. [and then she decides to just put it out there] Most of the supernatural creatures I run into are more ... humanoid.
Lydia: [she nods] And to be fair, I mostly spend time with werewolves.
William: Yes, we have heard many things of the Hale family. I knew their ancestors. We migrated to this new world around the same time.
Lydia: I'm sure Talia would love to talk to you about it sometime.
Parrish: She is more than willing to Skype with you if you have that encrypted signal installed.
William: We are still working on it. Candy is trying to get the best deal.
Lydia: I know a tech guy. He could probably help her negotiate around it if it means he gets to meet an honest to God dragon.
Parrish: You really want to bring Stiles here?
Lydia: Do you really think you'll be able to keep him away?
Parrish: He's on the other side of the country. And has two kids.
Lydia: That would not stop him.
William: We typically do not let outsiders into the lair lightly.
Lydia: He's the mate of Talia's youngest daughter. If you're interested in renewing that connection with her family, he's probably who she would send to help.
William: [watches her a moment, then laughs] You were right, Jordan. She is one who gets what she wants through debate.
Lydia: [smirks] It's hard to disagree with logic.
William: That it is.
Lydia: Anyway, you don't have to. But Stiles did our entire network and it runs like a dream. And I'm also pretty sure he'd do it for free.
William: I am intrigued.
Parrish: Once you meet him, William, you will never lose him.
Lydia: In an endearing way. Most of the time.
Parrish: Most of the time.
Lydia: I can ask him when we go back to the hotel if you like?
