Melissa: [sighs heavily, before rubbing the back of her neck] I don't know, Scott. This is a pretty big risk.
Scott: [from where he's curled up on the couch] I know, but what happens when the next asthma attack happens while I'm on campus and no one can help me.
Melissa: [sighs and she rubs her forehead] And what happens if this doesn't work at all and you die?
Scott: Then make sure Stiles doesn't get drunk and say something stupid at my funeral?
Melissa: [a look]
Scott: Mom, I'm scared too, But I don't want to be like this anymore. I don't want you to worry about if I'm going to be okay every day for the rest of my life.
Melissa: No, I'll have to worry about if you're going to lose control and kill someone. [she holds up a hand before Cora can interrupt] No offense, Cora, I know you'll teach him. But anything could happen, and you can't be with him everywhere.
Peter: And Derek and I will be here too, Melissa. He will have more than enough support to learn control.
Melissa: I just want to make sure he's thought through all of this, because this is more than just getting rid of your asthma, Scott.
Scott: I know. But I trust them. I just want a chance to have a real life, Mom.
Melissa: [takes a deep breath before closing her eyes] You're eighteen, Scott. It's your choice.
Peter: [going over to massage Melissa's shoulders]
Scott: I want to do this.
Melissa: [leans back into Peter before nodding] Then ... do it.
Scott: [looks at Cora] Let's do this.
Cora: [swallows and nods] This is going to hurt.
Scott: Good thing my mom is here to kiss it and make it better?
Melissa: Scott.
Scott: I love you.
Melissa: [rubs her eyes before moving towards the door] I'll be outside when you're done.
Peter: [looks over at Derek, who is standing quietly against the wall, and motions with his head for his nephew to follow Melissa outside]
Derek: [nods and goes]
Scott: [deep breath] Okay, I'm ready.
Melissa: [is just going to sit on the porch and not engage]
Cora: [nods and holds out her hand] Give me your arm.
Scott: Is it going to leave a scar?
Peter: No. [goes to hold Scott's shoulders, giving them a comforting squeeze] I've got you, son.
Cora: [takes a deep breath, before her eyes flash, her fangs extend and she bites into his arm]
Scott: [and that... yeah that HURTS so he will be screaming just a bit]
Cora: [and she'll pull back shortly after, waiting to see what happens]
Scott: [and he's going to look at his arm, whimpering in pain and curling back into Peter's arms.]
Peter: Cora, it takes a while for the healing to kick in. Can you get the first aid kit from the kitchen?
Cora: [she nods and darts off to grab it quickly, still worried]
Derek: [is listening, looking in the window to watch] It's done.
Melissa: [she doesn't turn to look] Is he okay?
Derek: It's too early to tell. But I know how to tell when it's happening, better than they will.
Melissa: [purses her lips together before nodding]
Derek: Peter doesn't want you to be alone out here. Do you want to come inside?
Melissa: [shakes her head] No, not really.
Derek: [huffs. He's not really all that good yet with people. So instead he is going to just go back inside and follow Cora back to the living room]
Peter: I asked you to stay with her.
Derek: I'm better here. I know what to look for.
Cora: It didn't really sound like she wanted company anyway.
Peter: She's just worried. But we're going to be alright.
Scott: It's not hurting as much anymore.
Derek: [just watching the wound]
Cora: [frowns before going to sit next to Scott and staying close]
Derek: [and he will keep watching it, and then nods] It's healing and not turning black.
Peter: [nods] That's a good sign.
Cora: [perks up a bit] So he'll be okay?
Derek: He sound be. Should still take it easy for the rest of the night.
Scott: I like the sound of that.
Cora: Come on. Let's go to bed.
Peter: You kids go on. I'll check on Melissa.
Cora: [nods and goes to help Scott upstairs]
Scott: [and he will be totally fine with they end up snuggling in bed together]
Peter: [goes outside to sit next to Melissa]
Cora: [yep, she's good with that too]
Melissa: [still sitting there, quietly staring out at the street]
Peter: He's going to be fine. It's taking well to him.
Melissa: Good.
Peter: [reaches over for her hand] Are you okay?
Melissa: My son just got turned into a werewolf.
Peter: I know it's hard to believe.
Melissa: It's not that. I got over that. But it was different when it was you and Cora and not Scott.
Peter: I had a feeling that eventually, both Scott and Stiles would come to think about it.
Melissa: Think about it, yes. It's hard ... not to think about it, really. But I didn't think they would actually go through with it.
Peter: Are you upset at him?
Melissa: [she sighs] I told him it was his choice, and if it's working, this will make him better. I know I need to start letting him make his own choices. I just didn't expect the first one to be this one.
Peter: [wraps his arm around her and pulling her close] It's hard when you realize that your kids don't need you as much anymore. But he's a good kid, and he's going to make good choices because of you.
Melissa: [sighs as she leans back into him] I hope you're right.
Peter: I can't promise they will ALL be good choices, but that's teenagers. And Stiles is still an influence.
Melissa: Right. At least he's going off to the Air Force and won't have too long to drag Scott on all the adventures they didn't get to do because of Scott's asthma before.
Peter: And maybe Cora will be able to take him out on more adventures so we can have some more time alone in the house. [kissing her shoulder]
Melissa: [she laughs] Don't get your hopes up there.
Peter: I think they are trying to keep from having more siblings. [kisses up along her neck]
Melissa: I think they know they don't have to do that. [because they've probably had this talk about how raising Scott and Stiles was probably enough parenting for her]
Peter: [they have, but he's always willing to renegotiate if she ever is]
Melissa: [we'll see, but probably not]
Peter: The kids have gone to bed. Would you like to join me in that as well?
Melissa: [takes a deep breath and nods] That's probably a good idea.
Peter: [stands and helps her up] Of course, you are now outnumbered in the house.
Melissa: I think I'll be able to manage.
Peter: [chuckles] I'm sure you will.
Melissa: [shakes her head] Come on. Let's go to sleep.
Peter: Good idea. [and he will walk her to bed]
Melissa: [and we will skip?]
Peter: [yup. where to?]
Melissa: [Scott waking up a werewolf? Or a different verse entirely?]
