puppy love } { of first kisses and family dinners

Stiles: [yup, in his backpack and he will park outside and ring the doorbell, nervous]

Cora: [there's already the smell of popcorn popping as Cora opens the door with a smile] Hey.

Stiles: Hey! Smells good in here.

Cora: I thought we should have some pre-popped. [steps back] C'mon in.

Stiles: [and he will come in, grinning] No, good idea. I mean I had lunch but I'm always hungry so prepopped popcorn is good.

Cora: Good. TV's over there if you want to set up the first one. [turns and points to the living room]

Stiles; Sweet. [and he will go, pulling out the Amazing Spiderman]

Cora: [and she will return and settle on the couch with the bowl of popcorn] What'd you bring?

Stiles: Spiderman.

Cora: Cool. [a beat] Toby Maguire or Andrew Garfield?

Stiles: Garfield.

Cora: Good.

Stiles: Shall we? [goes to sit on the couch]

Cora: [goes to hold the bowl between them and nod] We shall.

Stiles: [and they get to settle in and start watching]

Cora: [and as the movie moves forward she might shift slightly, so that she's leaning into him more]

Stiles: [and he will shift the popcorn to let her keep leaning in and not knock it over. Totally his priority]

Cora: [yep, totally. but she's just getting comfortable and relax against him more, glad that she's doing this instead of being stressed about Derek]

Stiles: [and his hand will go to stretch and may just end up around her shoulders]

Cora: [which will just allow her to settle against him even more]

Stiles: [and his hand will go to gently stroke her arm as he's focused on the movie]

Cora: [and she likes that. she likes that a lot. and eventually she'll glance up at him curiously, occasionally, but then turn her attention back to the movie]

Stiles: [and he will look down at her too, usually not when she is, but finally he will look at her when she is looking at him, and smile] This is nice. Right?

Cora: [she smiles softly] Yeah. It is.

Stiles: We should totally do this more often.

Cora: Yeah, we should.

Stiles; And you can come to my place too. My dad's on duty half the time.

Cora: So we'd have the place to ourselves?

Stiles: Yeah, until he came home.

Cora: Sounds good. [and she's back to silence again because she doesn't know what to do]

Stiles: Do you... want to be alone with me?

Cora: [she shrugs] Kind of the point of going on dates right?

Stiles: Sometimes. When you want to be alone.

Cora: And we are alone now.

Stiles: We are. Watching a movie.

Cora: [she nods for a moment, before looking down and playing with his shirt] And we'll probably be alone for a while.

Stiles: [oh. OH.] So um... what are you thinking?

Cora: [she shrugs at first. she isn't really sure what she's thinking. then she watches him for a moment, her brow clearly furrowed in thought before she acts on instinct and leans in to kiss him softly]

Stiles: [and he will blink, and then smile and lean down to kiss her back, shifting a bit closer]

Cora: [she hums softly when he kisses her back, holding it for a moment, before she pulls back and tries to get a look at his face]

Stiles: [and he will open his eyes and look at her, the smile still on his face] Hey.

Cora: [she smiles back] Hey.

Stiles: That was good for me. Was it good for you?

Cora: [she nods, because she definitely liked it] Yeah.

Stiles: Good. [and he is going to lean down and kiss her this time, cupping her cheek]

Cora: [getting kissed is different than kissing someone else, but she does her best not to tense up, one hand moving to his side as she tries to remind herself that she trusts him and this isn't going to end badly]

Stiles: [he won't hurt her. Far from it, being gentle and his thumb stroking her cheek a bit]

Cora: [she'll eventually relax into it more, forgetting about the movie entirely and just focusing on this]

Stiles: [there's a movie on? totally forgot that]

Cora: [yep, sorry Spider-Man you were not entertaining enough for this not-date]

Stiles: [and he's going to just... put the popcorn somewhere not his lap so that Cora could come closer when she wants to]

Cora: [which she will if she's given the invitation - not in his lap, exactly, but they're definitely touching more]

Stiles: [and totally respectful, not touching anywhere private, not going under her shirt. Just holding her and they are totally making out now]

Cora: [yep, definitely making out. And they'll probably keep doing that even after the menu of the movie starts up again, and Cora has to break to breathe a little]

Stiles: [yeah, breathing is good. the human is panting at that point] You okay?

Cora: [she nods] Just needed to catch my breath.

Stiles: Good idea. Don't want you to... pass out or anything.

Cora: [she laughs] No. That would be bad.

Stiles: Your uncle probably wouldn't like to come home to that.

Cora: No, probably not. [goes to glance over at the clock] But they're also probably still at the game for a while.

Stiles: I should probably change the movie then. [even if they aren't going to watch it]

Cora: Good idea. [and she will reluctantly pull back to let him go do that]

Stiles: [and he will] Do we need to refill drinks or anything?

Cora: [shakes her head] I think we're good.

Stiles: [and look, it's Spiderman 2]

Cora: [how apropos. too bad they're going to make out through a lot of it]

Stiles: [they will never make it thought this movie in any verse]

Cora: [nope, not likely. and they wouldn't have made it through anyway because about halfway through there's the sound of tires and cars and Cora pulls away with a shot]

Stiles: [and that was abrupt] What's wrong?

Cora: I think my mom's home.

Stiles: Shit. They don't know I was coming over...

Cora: No, they didn't. [and there are voice outside and footsteps on the porch ...]

Stiles: Too late to flee. My car’s outside. Just... act natural.

Cora: [nods as the door opens and Laura makes her way through first]

Laura: Hey, Stiles. [doesn't seem surprised at all]

Stiles: Hey Laura. How was the game?

Laura: Good. We won and I got a date.

Cora: [shakes her head]

Stiles: You did? Awesome. [gives her a thumbs up]

Laura: [grins as she goes to the stairs] I have to go get ready, but good luck. [and up the stairs she goes]

Derek: [and he's following behind, more subdued than someone should be who just won the state tournament]

Cora: [notices but doesn't say anything, especially when she sees her mother right behind him]

Talia: [also doesn't seem surprised, but she saw his jeep] Stiles.

Stiles: Hi Mrs. Hale! We were just watching Spiderman.

Derek: [looks over to see Stiles, then looks at his sister. She gets a small smile, a he sees you're happy and is happy for her, and then he's going to just head up to his room]

Talia: I'm sure you were. Planning on staying for dinner?

Stiles: Um... I could? [looks at Cora]

Cora: [shrugs as well] If you want to?

Stiles: I can text my dad. He wouldn't mind.

Talia: Perfect. We were going to be down one anyway.

Stiles: I will happily eat Laura's food for her so she can go on her date without guilt. [grins]

Talia: [she laughs] I'm sure she will be very grateful.

Stiles: Then I'm staying. [and he will pull out his phone to call his dad]

Cora: I'll set the table.

Stiles: [and after a few texts back and forth Stiles will wander into the kitchen] Dad says it's fine and that I should offer to help.

Talia: You can help Cora set the table.

Cora: Mom's a little possessive about the stove when she's cooking.

Stiles: Probably best. She wouldn't want me poisoning everyone.

Cora: I'm sure you'd be fine.

Stiles: Want to bet your life on that? [smirks]

Cora: [laughs, shaking her head] My mom's a pretty good cook, though.

Stiles: Well, I should probably warn you that I haven't had a good meal since I was eight unless one of our neighbors felt the Stilinski men needed some kind of neighborhood food assistance.

Talia: Don't worry. I'm used to cooking for voracious appetites.

Stiles: Good. [this is how you end up keeping him, Hales. Kisses and food]

Cora: [sounds about right. and the finish getting everything ready, Laura heads out to her date, and everyone sits down to dinner?]

Derek: [and he's going to sit across from his sister and Stiles]

Stiles: This smells amazing.

Cora: Told you so.

Talia: [smiles] Thank you. Eat as much as you like.

Derek: Just not too much.

Peter: I don't think Stiles can eat nearly as much as you can.

Stiles: I don't know about that. I eat a lot.

Cora: But Derek's a bottomless pit.

Stiles: I don't know, he doesn't look like a bottomless pit to me.

Cora: Trust me.

Derek: It's what happens when you play a lot of sports.

Stiles: Hey, I play lacrosse.

Derek: That's what I mean - we eat a lot.

Cora: [doesn't listen, just loads up her plate of good food]

Stiles: So you won the game?

Derek: Yup.

Cora: Nice.

Derek: It was alright. The other team was good too. We just barely won.

Cora: [her eyebrows go up at that because that isn't like him]

Stiles: Sounds like we missed a good game.

Derek: [shrugs] Yeah, but you guys were having fun. There will be other games.

Cora: [shrugs one shoulder as she looks down at her food]

Peter: [just watching the twins and looks over at Talia]

Stiles: So do you guys go to like, nationals or something?

Talia: [glances back to him and raises an eyebrow in return]

Cora: I don't know if they have that for high school basketball.

Derek: They do, but we'd have to do regionals first and its a lot of travel. [which he can't do since he's got his control issues]
Cora: Oh.

Stiles: Travel is a bad thing? I'd love to get out of town for a while.

Derek: [pokes at his plate]

Cora: Isn't always feasible with ... family obligations.

Stiles: Oh, that sucks. Sorry, man. I'm sure the team can kick ass... without you?

Derek: [sighs] Can I be excused? I'm not hungry anymore.

Talia: [gives him a soft smile and nods] Of course.

Derek: It's good seeing you Stiles. [and he will head on upstairs to his room]

Stiles: [waits until he was gone] Is Derek sick? I was expecting at least one threat about being here...

Peter: Do you want one? Because I can substitute for him... [stern look]

Stiles: Um, no I'm good

Cora: [glares at Peter from her seat]

Peter: [relaxes, smiling at them] Alright then.

Cora: [sighs as she finishes her plate] It's getting late, Stiles should probably be getting home.

Stiles: Yeah, I should. Thank you, this was delicious.

Talia: Good. I'm glad you liked it.

Stiles: I did. Maybe another time? [looks from her to Cora]

Talia: [she nods] You're always welcome, Stiles. Just call ahead.

Stiles: I will. [and he will start to go, but then stop] Whoops, almost forgot my movies...

Cora: [and she will get up to walk him out to his car]

Stiles: [and once he's there, he will drop his stuff in the passenger seat through the window.] So, that was a good day.

Cora: Yeah, it was.

Stiles: We should do it again soon.

Cora: Yeah, we should.

Stiles: Maybe one day after school when I'm no longer in detention?

Cora: Sounds good to me.

Stiles: [and he goes to take her hand] But I'll see you in class Monday? Maybe Danny will let me borrow you for chem one day?

Cora: [smirks] Maybe. If you're lucky.

Stiles: Hey, I'm feeling pretty lucky lately.

Cora: Guess you'll have to see then.

Stiles: Guess so. [and he is going to pull her a bit closer so he can lean in and quickly kiss her]

Cora: [and she'll let him, kissing him back softly before pulling back with a small smile] Good night.

Stiles: Night. [and he will let her go and off he goes home]

Cora: [and she will watch him go before heading back inside]

Peter: [and he will look over at her and smile, and then nod up the stairs] I think someone is ready to apologize.

Cora: Do you?

Peter: Worth a shot.

Cora: [if he's ready to apologize, Derek could come to her and apologize. She's not going to go to him. she shrugs and heads towards the stairs] Night, Uncle Peter.

Peter: Night, Cora.

Cora: [and up she'll head to her room to ... probably do her homework, the nerd]

Derek: [and he is going to just hide in his room the rest of the weekend]
