canon au } { post-1408, of touching base and making use of soundproofing

Michael: [and they return to Lindsay and Ben's after dinner that night, put Kyle to sleep on the couch, and head off to the guest room they've been assigned. Once the door closes, he glances over at her with a small smirk] I have a feeling all of us are thanking Derek for sound proofing this place right about now.

Molly: Well, I can't blame them. They did just get engaged.

Michael: Neither do I. I'm just glad I don't have to hear it. [and he sits down to pull off his shoes, trying to find his way around to what he actually wants to talk about]

Molly: That was a nice party. I'm glad you invited me.

Michael: I'm glad you came. [a beat as he takes off his second shoe and then goes to pull his sweater over his head. He pauses long enough to take a breath, before:] Look, about earlier ... I didn't mean to do that wrong.

Molly: I know. I made it awkward. I shouldn't have said that.

Michael: No, it wasn't you. And it's not that I don't want that. I just wasn't expecting it to come up in front of my family, and I got weird. [he shrugs] Sometimes it still doesn't feel like the things I have here are mine to keep.

Molly: [and she'll look at him, then go to sit at his side and take his hand] I think your cousin and sister would disagree with you. They've both found things... people... to keep. [she rubs her thumb along his knuckles]

Michael: Yeah. And ninety percent of the time, I think I have too. [he looks over at her with a small smile] But then there's that ten percent when the way I grew up kicks in and I'm worried about it being swept out from under me.

Molly: You've been here five years. If it was going to get swept away, it would have by now. [she brings his hand to her lips and kisses it]

Michael: Yeah, I know. I didn't say it was a logical thing. [he takes a deep breath, before turning to face her] I don't want you to think that it's because I'm not all in on this because I am. I love you and I love him. I'm not going anywhere. You know that, right?

Molly: I know, but it's always nice to hear it. And we both love you too, and cherish whatever time you can be with us.

Michael: Okay. [small smile.] I'm planning on it being a while.

Molly: But I do have to ask, what happens the day Kyle asks you to be his dad, or just says you are. You've known him since he was a toddler and the only male role model he has.

Michael: I'm okay with that if that's what he wants. And I'll probably react a little better as it's not the first time it's come up?

Molly: And what about if I want to call you Daddy? [teasing him]

Michael: [and he blushes a little] I'm not really sure I'm the type.

Molly: What if I said that I want to keep you. [she linked her fingers with his]

Michael: I'd like that a lot. [squeezes her hand in return]

Molly: And my place isn't that far from the bunker. I'd need to get a real bed but, maybe you could come to call it home?

Michael: I'd like that. I'd offer for you guys to just move in to the bunker, but there's a lot of people in and out, and I don't know if you want all of that around Kyle.

Molly: I don't know about Kyle being there just yet. He doesn't know how to filter his words.

Michael: [he nods] But yeah. If you want me around, I wouldn't mind.

Molly: I would love you around. It'll be nice to come home to both of you at night.

Michael: [joking] You might find it less nice when it's me coming home at six in the morning.

Molly: If you bring me breakfast, I'll always forgive you.

Michael: Noted. When late, bring bagels.

Molly: Or croissants. I like being spoiled. Oh, or the donuts with chocolate frosting and sprinkles.

Michael: [he laughs] Dunkin Donuts is usually open late. I think I can make that work.

Molly: Good. [and she smiles before kicking her shoes off next to Michael's boots] So, soundproof, huh?

Michael: That's what I'm told. Not even werewolves can hear through it.

Molly: Perfect. [and she is going to lean in and kiss him, her fingers going to cup his face]

Michael: [hums softly as he kisses her back, sliding one arm around her waist to pull her closer]

Molly: [and she will make it easy and straddle his lap, going to run her hands along his shoulders]

Michael: [and his hands slide up over her back, pulling her in closer as he inches back on the bed]

Molly: [and she is going to make full use of the soundproofing]

Michael: [yep, lots of quality alone time while they have some time to themselves]

Molly: [best. roadtrip. ever]

Michael: [indeed. good food and good fun all in one]

Molly: [and waking up in the arms of the man she loves it the icing on the cake]

Michael: [and soundproofing means he sleeps way more soundly than he would normally.]

Molly: [and that they can maybe have a romantic good morning]

Michael: [maybe they can, so long as Kyle doesn't get antsy. Then again, maybe Dean will be up early to watch Scooby Doo with him]

Molly: [if not Dean, then Ben. Kyle is easily amused and used to multiple babysitters]

Michael: [thanks Winchesters, the happy couple is grateful for your early morning entertainment]

Molly: [she really likes being a part of this family unit]

Michael: [good, he's glad. Because he really likes having her there]
