spamalot } { of early brunches and little sisters growing up

Peter: [after having some morning love, a nice shower, and getting dressed, he waits outside Nadia’s door to walk her to brunch downstairs.]

Nadia: [showered, hair dried and dressed later, she walks out to meet him with a smile] Ready?

Peter: [is looking more relaxed and happier than he has in a long time] Sure. [holds out his arm to her]

Nadia: [she takes it with a smile before turning to head towards the elevator]

Peter: [as he waits for the elevator] Thank you, by the way.

Nadia: [she turns to him, raising an eyebrow] For what?

Peter: For forcing me to take the next step. I've wanted to for a while, but I kept stopping myself out of fear.

Nadia: I had a feeling all you needed was a push.

Peter: You're getting to know me too well.

Nadia: Is that a bad thing?

Peter: No, as long as you don't plan on using it against me. [it's a tease, but it's also a serious note too]

Nadia: [she shakes her head] Wouldn't dream of it.

Peter: Good. [and he leans down to kiss her quickly before the elevator doors open]

Nadia: [smiles into the kiss before pulling back and stepping onto the elevator with him.]

Peter: [and they arrive at brunch to find the Hales at one table, in various states of sleep deprivation and snuggling with their partners.] So which family do we sit with?

Nadia: [glances over to see Nik talking to the waiters] It looks like they're putting the tables together so we probably won't have to choose.

Peter: That makes it easier. [and he watches as a connecting table is put up and he goes to lead her to a seat, pulling the chair out for her and all]

Derek: [looks over at them, then at Laura, and then Peter again with just a big knowing grin on his face]

Peter: [gives Derek the warning look right now to shoot down that comment]

Nadia: [completely oblivious, or at least playing as such, she takes the chair from Peter with a smile as she sits.]

Laura: [just smirks a bit into Jason's shoulder, turning back to the menu before she gets herself into trouble]

Peter: [sits next to her] You kids have a good night last night?

Laura: [nods in agreement] Yeah, it was fun.

Derek: [his hand playing with Fiona's leg under the table] It really was. You did a great job, Nadia.

Peter: [looking at the menu, deciding on food]

Nadia: Thank you. I had a lot of fun planning it.

Fiona: [gives him a look as she swats at his hand]

Nik: [comes up to sit on the other side of her] Don't make me separate you two.

Derek: [gives Nik a look] Good luck trying. [it's a playful challenge, but he's not actually expecting it. he does put his hand back on the table though]

Peter: [snorts and shakes his head] How about you, Nik? We didn't get to talk much yesterday. How've you been?

Nik: [he gives a bit of a grin] I am awesome. Last night was a good night.

Jason: I will admit it gave me a few ideas for our wedding.

Nadia: If you want to get in touch with any of the vendors just let me know. I can give you all their numbers.

Jason: Thank you. [and he's leaning over Laura's shoulder, reading the menu with her.]

Talia: [and soon Talia and Thomas come down to join them, eyeing the table for a moment and noting the missing teenagers] And here we thought we'd be the last ones.

Derek: I'm sure they are all sleeping in, or ordering room service to avoid spending time with the adults.

Thomas: Ah, let the kids sleep. We don't have to start back for another few hours.

Nadia: I agree. They should enjoy the hotel while it lasts.

Peter: [to his sister with an easy smile] You okay with taking Malia and Isaac back with you still? I was going to help Nadia with anything else she needed to wrap things up.

Talia: Of course. There's plenty of room.

Peter: Good. [ and he leans back, leaning towards Nadia a bit and giving her a small smile]

Thomas: [sees that and snorts, nudging Talia a bit] I always did say weddings were good things. It reminds people what really matters in life. [and he slips his arm around Talia.]

Talia: [follows his eyes to her brother and raises her eyebrows slightly] I suppose they do.

Peter: [sees his sister's look and she gets the exasperated little brother look. But there is a hint of a blush to his cheeks at it, since he sucks at hiding things from her]

Talia: [she smirks a bit before going back to the menu. Good for you, Peter.]

Stiles: [is being dragged along by Cora, still half asleep but oh god he's hungry. And he's very well showered. VERY WELL SHOWERED]

Cora: [as is his girlfriend and she's just going to slide into a seat on the other side of Nik and reach for one of the menus] Morning.

Derek: Morning, Pup.

Thomas: You sleep well, darling?

Stiles: [is taking the seat on her other side, reading the menu over her shoulder and pointing at a pancake platter almost instantly]

Cora: [glances up and nods with a smile] Yeah. The beds are really nice. [but nods in agreement to Stiles. Pancakes. Good choice.]

Talia: [eyes the very silent Stiles] How about you, Stiles?

Stiles: Me? [quick to respond] Oh, good. Tired. Could have slept for a few more hours. [and he yawns behind his hand] Great wedding.

Jason and Derek: [yup, eyebrows are up and looking at them]

Fiona: [annnnnnnd Fiona is just going to swat at her boyfriend from under the table. Leave them alone] All that dancing can wear you out.

Cora: [yep, pointedly keeping her eyes on her menu right now]

Derek: [and she gets the "did you know about this?" look in return]

Stiles: Yeah, dancing was good. And we took a long walk on the beach after. Still really nice weather and all. Never been here before.

Fiona: [maybe. She shrugs. Actually she did, but they're not going to talk about this right now, silently or otherwise.]

Talia: Good. Maybe you can come back one summer and see the sights more.

Stiles: Maybe. It looks like a nice place to live. You come here a lot, right Nadia? How long do you stay?

Derek: [long. suffering. sigh]

Fiona: [just pats his leg gently under the table. They'll talk about this later]

Nadia: Usually a week, sometimes two if I can swing it. It depends what project I'm working on.

Stiles: Well, maybe spring break? Get away from LA? [he looked at Cora.]

Cora: [looks up with a nod] Yeah, that sounds like fun.

[And they chat for a while and eventually all go their separate ways.]

Derek: [he waits until they are on the interstate] So...

Fiona: [sighs softly] She talked to me about it.

Derek: And you didn't warn me?

Fiona: [her eyebrows go up at that because warn you? really?] I didn't think it was any of your business.

Derek: She's my sister, Fiona. I don't need the details, but at least letting me not get caught off guard would have been nice.

Fiona: Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize that people need to be warned about other people's sex lives. Should I be warning Cora every time I'm about to have sex with you?

Derek: That's not what I meant. The only reason we even had sex the first time was because of that girl, for the record.

Fiona: I'm not sure what one has to do with the other. What happens between her and Stiles is supposed to stay between her and Stiles unless she decides to tell you. I'm not going to make that decision for her.

Derek: [just growls and looks out the window. She's right and he knows she's right, but he's still pissed about it all]

Fiona: [she sighs softly, glancing over at him] She's not a little kid anymore, Derek. She's eighteen.

Derek: [nope, still grumpy wolf]

Fiona: Look, she wanted to talk to someone who wasn't in her family. I made sure she was safe. She was going to do it whether she talked to me or not.

Derek: [he huffed. Not that he didn't trust Fiona to take care of his sister. He just... he was her confidant. Cora was supposed to come to him for things. He felt... snubbed.]

Fiona: [yeah, she's getting that] Look, this is not the kind of thing she could go to you for. She needed to talk to a girl. You, as close as you are, are not a girl.

Derek: I've talked to her about everything until now.

Fiona: Did you want to know about this? Honestly?

Derek: Yes. Because I would have listened to her. I've been waiting for her to. I love my sister and this isn't something I would fuck with.

Fiona: [she sighs softly] Yeah, but this isn't really something you go to your big brother for, no matter how close you are. These were questions you couldn't answer for her. To put it simply, you have the wrong plumbing.

Derek: [his fingers play on the window. Still not happy]

Fiona: [one hand wanders to the wheel and squeezes his leg gently] I know you wouldn't mess with her. And she does too. She didn't come to me because she doesn't trust you.

Derek: It feels that way.

Fiona: It's not. I promise.

Derek: [closes his eyes] I knew it was coming, I just... she's not a kid anymore.

Fiona: No, she's not. But she thought this through.

Derek: [nods] Good.

Fiona: She's always going to be your little sister, Derek. And she knows that. There's a part of her that doesn't want to lose that.

Derek: I don't want to lose that either.

Fiona: So let me field the stuff that doesn't fall into big brother territory.

Derek: [licks his lips, then nods] Alright. But just... tell her I don't mind the girlie stuff either. I just want to be there for her.

Fiona: [she nods. It's not really something she could take to Derek anyway, but she knows that he just wants to be there for her] I think she knows. She just wanted to talk to a girl. Girls need a little girl talk sometimes.

Derek: [and he hopes that Laura isn't feeling how he feels right now] I know you'll take care of her.

Fiona: I will. I promise.
