spamalot } { of suicides and medical records

Parrish: [sitting back] So everyone on that list died at Eichen House. Apparently listed as suicide. That's got to be the link.

Lydia: All suicides?

Parrish: That's what the reports say. [he motions for her to come look at his screen]

Lydia: [pushes up from her seat and moves closer, leaning closer to him so that she can see] That's a pretty odd coincidence.

Parrish: I can run a report for dates of death and put them in order and see if it helps? Anything else would be privileged medical information and we wouldn't have access to that here.

Lydia: Okay. At least it would be something.

Parrish: [goes back to typing] So you're hoping to figure out what again from all these people?

Lydia: I ... I don't know. My grandmother left this for me for a reason, I just have to figure out what it is.

Parrish: Maybe she wanted you to investigate these deaths?

Lydia: Investigate her death?

Parrish: Well, she's on this list, right? [he pointed at the name Lorraine Martin]

Lydia: [she nods] She must know something we don't.

Parrish: You think she's... like you?

Lydia: My grandmother? Yeah. I think she might have been.

Parrish: [thinks] Maybe she thinks that you can use this then to help you solve this?

Lydia: Maybe. I hope so.

Parrish: So, what next?

Lydia: I should fill Peter in. But after that ... I don't know. Maybe we should go to Eichen House and see what information they have.

Parrish: You'll need to get a warrant to be able to look at medical records. Even for deceased patients. Unless you can get waivers from all these families.

Lydia: I can at least look at my grandmothers, couldn't I?

Parrish: You should be able to.

Lydia: Then we can start there. And if there's something to go on, talk to the other families?

Parrish: That works. So when are we going?

Lydia: [she glances to him for a moment, mouth working for a second and then] You don't have to. I know that even asking for this was a lot.

Parrish: Hey, I said I would help however I can. You just have to ask. No strings, I swear.

Lydia: [the concerned look flickers with a small smile, before nodding] I have to talk to Peter. But I'll let you know.

Parrish: [nods. This Peter guy again. Yup, he gets it.] Alright. Just an offer though.

Lydia: [it's not what you're thinking, Parrish] He's been helping me with all of this. It would feel weird, cutting him out of the loop.

Parrish: [he doesn't know how to think, so nope, not until he's proven wrong] Well, I'll give you want I can access, and you can take it back and work with him on it.

Lydia: [she nods a bit] Thank you.

Parrish: [hits print and prints it out, then puts it into an envelope and holds it out to her] There you go.

Lydia: [takes it from him with a small smile] Seriously, thank you.

Parrish: You're welcome.

Lydia: [she takes the envelope in her hands before taking a step back] I should let you get back to work.

Parrish: [nods] You're probably right. Good luck with that.

Lydia: [she nods, and with that, she'll head off and get into the front seat of her car. She'll sit there, drumming her fingers against the wheel for a moment before picking up the phone to call Peter]

Peter: [answers it] Hello Lydia.

Lydia: [she takes a breath] That list we found? The names? They're all Eichen House patients who committed suicide.

Peter: All of them?

Lydia: All of them.

Peter: That's.... very odd.

Lydia: That's what I said. Parrish says that I should be able to get my grandmother's records from them, since I'm family.

Peter: You should. If they wanted to be sticklers, they would probably want your parents to be the ones to request it.

Lydia: Yes, well, I'm sure if we take a sheriff's deputy, they'll want to be as cooperative as possible.

Peter: Would this be the new one - Parrish I believe?

Lydia: He offered. Might as well take him up on it.

Peter: [nods] We can do that. I may suggest we bring Derek too. He does need to be more involved in all of this as part of his education, but he's also been studying the local history more recently than I have. If there's something about the house, he may pick it out faster than I would.

Lydia: Okay. It'll be a party.

Peter: Let me know when the facility is good with letting us come over.

Lydia: I will.

Peter: Anything else?

Lydia: No, that's all I have so far.

Peter: Okay. Well, let me know, or if you need me to look into anything deeper for you.

Lydia: I will.

Peter: Talk to you soon.

Lydia: [and with that, she'll hang up and go home]
