spamalot } { of fluke survival and rescue attempts

[The boys and oni get are in an epic stare down and Cora uses the distraction to go get Lydia.]

Nogitsune: Mmm, no I don't think you'll do anything to me.

Peter: You so sure about that? [stalking forward, growling]

Nogitsune: Oh, I'm very sure of that. Because you kill me... and you kill Derek. And do you really want his blood on your hands again?

Cora: [is just going to quietly make her way over to Lydia and take her hand] Lydia? We have to go.

Lydia: [looks up at her, eyes somewhat vacant, and then slightly confused] What are you doing here? You're not supposed to be here.

Peter: You're bluffing.

Nogitsune: Maybe I am, but are willing to take the chance that I'm not?

Jason: Peter... don't.

Cora: Doesn't matter. We have to go, while he's distracted. [she takes her arm and pulls and Lydia goes easily, not really having any issues with getting the hell out of here]

Chris: Peter, we got what we came for. [has taken position between the retreating girls and the nogitsune]

Peter: [snarls just that bit he does]

Nogitsune: [smirking] Go, Peter. Back to your sister. She's the one who's going to need you next.

Jason: [grabs Peter's shoulder, pulling him back] Not now. But soon.

Cora: [yep, running back to the car after a certain point and is just going to curl up with Lydia in the back seat]

Lydia: [just going to break down sobbing. Again. It's been a long night.]

Peter: [and he's going to let Jason pull him away, but this isn't over, nogitsune]

Nogitsune: [disappears into the night]

Chris: [is going to drive them back to the Hale House]

Lydia: [is back to feeling a little numb once they do, leaning heavily on Cora and just not really wanting to move] It's my fault.

Cora: No, it's not.

Lydia: If I had just stayed upstairs ...

Cora: He would have gotten you anyway.

Lydia: But Parrish wouldn't be dead!

Talia: [is standing at the window as they pull up, before saying back to the rest of the house] They're back.

Parrish: [and nope, he's not going to stay on that couch. he's in a pair of Peter's spare clothes and goes running onto the porch to make sure she's okay]

Peter: [turns to look at her] You may want to reevaluate that. [nods with his head at the porch as the car stops]

Lydia: [turns and stares out the window for a moment, before pushing past Cora and out the car door to just stare some more] I'm hallucinating. [her brain's been through a lot tonight, it's not out of the question.]

Jason: No, you're not. Though the how is a mystery to all of us.

Peter: [is getting out, staring up at his sister in the window with his "I'm not happy at all" face]

Lydia: [she still doesn't entirely trust it, taking a few steps closer to Parrish and still staring, trying to make sense of it] He went up like a Roman candle. I saw it. He can't be ...

Parrish: [jumps down off the porch] Yeah, I can't explain it either, but it's really me. Trust me, I'm freaking out inside about it too.

Lydia: [he's close enough to touch at this point and Lydia tentatively reaches out and rests her hand against his chest, feeling it solid beneath her palm. There's another moment where she just continues to stare at him, before her fingers are curling into his shirt, tugging him closer as she pushes up onto her toes to kiss him.]

Parrish: [and he was not expecting that. At all. But he's not going to complain about it because honestly, he's been wanting her to do that for a while so after the shock moment wears off, he's kissing her back, his hand going to rest on her arm to keep her close]

Cora: [is just going to grab whichever men are closest to her and drag them inside to give them a moment]

Lydia: [oh good, so she's just going to keep doing that, her hand releasing his shirt and moving up to rest against the side of his face]

Peter: [is actually going to storm off into the woods because no, he's angry and he needs to take a walk]

Jason: [goes off to find his wife]

Chris: [is dragged by Cora inside]

Parrish: [he's just going to keep this up a bit longer before he pulls back just an inch] This isn’t just because I'm alive, is it? I mean...

Talia: [yeah, Talia will watch that from inside, and frown a lot - not Parrish and Lydia, but her brother]

Lydia: [She looks up at him for a moment, before shaking her head slowly.] Not entirely. [It was the impetus, certainly, but not the only reason. She may have been wanting to do that for a while too, but wasn't entirely sure how to initiate. It was one of those moments where she missed the girl she used to be]

Parrish: [nods] Good. Because I'd hate for this to be the only reason. I've been hoping you'd have done this sooner and all...

Lydia: [she huffs a bit at that] Sorry. I'm not as direct as I used to be.

Parrish: Hey, it's fine. [he reaches up to push some hair back from her face] I don't know that old Lydia. I know this one, and I happen to like her. A lot.

Lydia: [she smiles at that, leaning into his hand a bit, before closing her eyes] I'm sorry. I should have stayed where I was.

Parrish: Yeah, um, you probably were better off not. I think I'm currently homeless because the bar burned down.

Lydia: [she laughs softly, before shaking her head] You can stay with me. Least I could do.

Parrish: This isn't your fault, Lydia. Plus I think it's a bit early for me to be moving in. [smiles] Come on, let's get inside.

Lydia: [she nods a bit, and honestly it is her fault. She was there, the nogitsune wanted here, even if she wasn't complicit in it. And for the record, she was offering her couch until he finds another place, but she'll just nod and follow him in]
