canon au } { post-s4, of thanksgiving and family drama

[After the Hales have their small Thanksgiving dinner, Stiles and Cora get ready to head back to the loft, Stiles holding her jacket for her.]

Cora: [slips it on before taking his hand and pulling him gently out the door]

Stiles: [likes this whole walking hand in hand thing. It really makes him feel like a real couple] You know, from the outside looking in? It's really nice seeing you guys all being a real family again, and not just trying to figure each other out.

Cora: [she likes it too. It a way of feeling connected to him, and she's missed him, more than she'd care to admit] Yeah, that was nice. We haven't had anything like that in a while.

Stiles: I'm also glad to have you back home.

Cora: [smiles a bit at that, stopping and turning to face him so that she can tug him in with her hand to kiss him] Me too.

Stiles: [grins and kisses her back, his free hand going to the small of her back to keep her close]

Cora: [hums softly into the kiss, the hand with their dessert coming up to rest against his shoulder as she holds the kiss for as long as possible before pulling back] Unfortunately, I think that may be the best you get out of me tonight.

Stiles: [laughs] And here I was hoping for a movie marathon and bungee jumping. I guess I'll just have to go and cancel the appointment.

Cora: [she laughs] Not tonight. Maybe another day.

Stiles: I don't know, it was a bitch to get the bridge cleared for jumping off of. [smiles and starts to walk them back to his jeep]

Cora: [she laughs as she slides into the passenger's seat] Well, you should have asked first.

Stiles: It was going to be a surprise, okay? I like to surprise you every now and then.

Cora: I don't mind surprises. But it might have been better to go with something more low key when my day has been pretty much non-stop since eight AM.

Stiles: I will remember that then for Christmas Eve and cancel the reindeer now. [smirks]

Cora: [she laughs] I'll be back before that for Christmas. I will have a full week to recover before Christmas Eve.

Stiles: Awesome.

Cora: Yep. [nods a bit as she turns her attention back to the road.]

Stiles: [driving them back to the Hale house chatting about what's been happening in the last few weeks. Nothing important. And then they are there and Stiles has an overnight backpack]

Cora: [which is good because she's going to head inside and take him right to her room to try and avoid any potential glares from certain older siblings who still haven't quite warmed up to the idea of their little sister having a boyfriend who sleeps in her bedroom]

Laura: [yep, nope, not warmed up to the idea at all. She's at the kitchen when they come in and her mouth sets into a thin line when she sees the overnight bag] Back from dinner?

Stiles: [it's a backpack. There could be books in it!] Yeah, it was good though pretty sure I learned my lesson to make a big plate the first go round so I don't have to pray there are seconds left. [trying to be nice]

Laura: [it's not you, Stiles. It's just that Laura's still getting used to Cora being a - not dead and b - not a little kid. She missed all the big sister talks and things that she should have had with regards to boys, so she is just channeling that frustration into a target that's easy to glare at.] Uh-huh.

Cora: [yep, she's just going to keep tugging Stiles along] We're going to bed.

Laura: [:||||||||||||||]

Stiles: [is tugged along] Night Laura. [whispers to Cora] You keep doing that and I'm going to end up in an unmarked grave on the preserve.

Cora: [gives him a bit of a look as she takes him upstairs, and will wait until they're behind the closed door of her bedroom to actually speak] She just needs to get used to it. Walking on eggshells around it isn't going to help that. You're not going anywhere, so she just has to deal.

Stiles: I'm just trying to be friendly and I'm getting the looks. Her looks are worse than Derek's were and that's saying a lot, let me tell you.

Cora: And how long did it take Derek to warm up to you when you weren't sleeping with his sister?

Stiles: ..... Fair point. Though Scott and I did make him the most wanted man in Beacon Hills for a while...

Cora: [her eyebrows go up a bit at that]

Stiles: Scott was flailing and it was the first thing he thought up and we got him cleared of the charges. Eventually.

Cora: [blinks before shaking her head] I don't want to know. I don't care. [she does care but she doesn't care right now. she takes his hand again and tugs him towards the bed] I just want to get in my pajamas and sit with you and the pie and not talk about Derek or Laura.

Stiles: That sounds like a good plan. I can tell you all about how we had a running joke about Derek living in a Streetcar named Desire.

Cora: [that's technically talking about Derek, but that sounds like a funny thing, so she'll allow it. She smirks a bit before taking a step closer to kiss him] I'll get dressed.

Stiles: [kisses her back] I brought my pj's too so I'll change as well. [because he's dressed nice in khakis and a button down]

Cora: [nods a bit as she pulls away to shed her jacket and other clothes and get into comfy pants and one of his t-shirts. After that she'll grab the pie tin with dessert in it and go curl up on the bed]

Stiles: [and he's got his flannel pants and t-shirt on, and the portable DVD player since Derek lacks any entertainment functionality in this house] Movie with your pie?

Cora: [nods with a smile] Sure.

Stiles: [looks at his portable collection of "getting Cora caught up on good movies" and holds up Hunger Games] The third movie is in theaters. You see either of the others yet?

Cora: [glances at it and shakes her head] Nope.

Stiles: Hunger Games it is then.

Cora: Okay. [and she settles in to get comfortable]

Stiles: [and they will watch a great girl power movie because Stiles knows Cora is liking the movies with strong female leads and he will show them all to her]

Cora: [best boyfriend ever. And she does like it for the most part. He even gets sadfaces when Rue dies.]

Stiles: [he also gets sad faced when she dies. And he will stay quiet to just let her enjoy it. Totally Team Peeta btw]

Cora: [she likes Peeta. he seems like a nice guy. She doesn't really have an opinion one way or another ship wise, but she does like Katniss a lot.]

Stiles: [but he is just going to snuggle and try and sneak some of that pie when he can]

Cora: [he can totally have some, she likes to share - at least with him. and as they get towards the end of the movie, she is starting to nod off a bit against his shoulder]

Stiles: [and he will just move gently to move the pie remains to the side table and leans back to lady down with her curled into his arm]

Cora: [stirs a bit as she's moved, her eyes blinking open for a moment] Did I miss it? Did she win?

Stiles: You need to see it since it's a series but yes in a way.

Cora: [hums softly, before curling into him more] I'll watch the end tomorrow.

Stiles: To and then we can start the second one

Cora: Okay. [and with that she's going to let herself drift off to sleep completely.] Love you.

Stiles: I love you too. [he kissed her forehead and he isn't far behind her]

Cora: [will pretty much sleep through the night curled up comfortably in his arms]

Stiles: [And he will too because he always sleeps better with her. It keeps the nightmares away]

Cora: [and she will stay that way until she picks up on the noises of people starting to arrive downstairs. She groans and moves to bury her head against his shoulder more]

Stiles: [he will snort in his sleep and shift a bit more towards her]

Cora: [smiles a bit at that, pulling back a bit to watch him as he sleeps]

Stiles: [its not anything special. Just relaxed, drooling a bit and after a moment he smiles for a moment before slipping back to that flat sleeping look]

Cora: [still, it's him. And it's more than she's gotten to wake up to in a long time]

Stiles: [eventually he will blink awake and see her starting at him] Do I have something on my face?

Cora: [shakes her head, keeping that eye contact as she does.] Nope.

Stiles: Then your just being the Hale creeper that I love. [small smile]

Cora: [she laughs] I just ... missed this.

Stiles: So have I. Like a lot.

Cora: [she sighs a bit, her hand coming up to run her fingers through his hair] I wish I wasn't so far away.

Stiles: Christmas break is almost here.

Cora: It seems like forever from now.

Stiles: And come May we will officially be in the same school.

Cora: And we will be driving Tara crazy.

Stiles: We need to get her a friend.

Cora: We do. Give her something to preoccupy himself with.

Stiles: Something to work on over the summer.

Cora: [nods a bit] I wish everyone wasn't downstairs too.

Stiles: We can just stay up here until dinner.

Cora: Mmm. And come back up here when it's done?

Stiles: That works. Or take a walk or something like that.

Cora: Perfect. [she shakes her head] I just know that with as many people as are going to be here? Dinner will be enough.

Stiles: I'm going to just focus on avoiding you sister and Buffy stabbings.

Cora: [eyebrows go up at that]

Stiles: I get hungry and I heard she may try to stab me if I go into the kitchen.

Cora: [she laughs] We could go have breakfast elsewhere. I'll make sure you don't starve.

Stiles: [smiles] so shower and then IHOP?

Cora: [she grins and nods a bit] Sure.

Stiles: I love you. [kisses her]

Cora: [sighs softly into the kiss] I love you too.

Stiles: I guess I'll go shower first.

Cora: [her teeth toy with her bottom lip for a moment, before sighing softly] Yeah. Probably a good idea.

Stiles: We could sleep at my place too you know. [gets up to get clothes o out of bag]

Cora: I don't think your dad would like us sharing a shower any better than my brother and sister would.

Stiles: Yeah but my dad has a lob he has to go to.

Cora: That is very true.

Stiles: But it's Thanksgiving and your family and vacation so it's up to you I'm not leaving your side.

Cora: It's my vacation. [she shifts a bit closer, her hands sliding over his sides] And I do want to be actually alone with you.

Stiles: I know you don't want to walk on eggshells around Laura but I don't want to you know, while she's home any more than we do when Derek is home.

Cora: I wasn't saying that.

Stiles: I know I was just saying or better odds to be some would be at my place.

Cora: So we'll go to your place.

Stiles: [grins] Cool. So let me shower now ‘kay?

Cora: [nods] Okay.

Stiles: [and he leaves the bedroom to go to the bathroom to do just that and hope no one is using it]

Cora: [And will absent-mindedly roll into the warm spot he left behind, curling up and closing her eyes for a bit]

Dawn: [is just coming out, toweling her hair] Morning.

Stiles: Morning! How was the rest of dinner?

Dawn: Good. Much calmer than tonight is going to be.

Stiles: Yeah well that's what happens when you decide to feed the entire pack.

Dawn: And then some. [a beat] Would it be too little kid if we herded all the teenagers over to one set of tables?

Stiles: I don't think so but it will keep conversations separate.

Dawn: Yeah, but I think that would still happen even if we were at one long table. There's enough of us that there'd be some distance.

Stiles: You may just want to leave the food in the kitchen and people make plates otherwise us humans may not get seconds.

Dawn: [she nods for a moment] I'll take that under advisement.

Stiles: Wolves and slayers and you didn't have a strategy to get seconds Dawn? You need more human 101 lessons.

Dawn: [eyebrow raise] My strategy for seconds was get full on firsts. Or, alternatively, save room for pie.

Stiles: Uh huh.

Dawn: [she shrugs] I manage.

Stiles: Well good luck and may the odds always be in your favor.

Dawn: [she laughs, before shaking her head to make her way down stairs]

Stiles: [and off to shower he goes]

Dawn: [continues to make her way downstairs, before climbing back into bed behind him, snaking one arm around his waist and pressing herself against his back]

Derek: [groans and backs up into the warmth. His back starts to get a bit fuzzier as he's still asleep and comfortable and safe enough that he's thinking of unconsciously shifting again]

Dawn: [not that she normally minds fuzzy, but given that there are people here, she's going to wake him up before he shifts too much] Hey. You're going puppy on me.

Derek: Mmhmph? [but it's enough to make him stop shifting and going back to human form, his eyes twitching and starting to wake up]

Dawn: [which she'll feel bad about, but he could always get more sleep. She shifts forward, pressing a soft kiss to his human nape of his neck] Morning.

Derek: Is it already?

Dawn: Mmm-hmmm.

Derek: Has your sister taken over my kitchen already?

Dawn: She's unloading the groceries as we speak.

Derek: Is there enough time for me to make coffee safely?

Dawn: I think so. But we could always escape and get the fancy kind.

Derek: We could, but would that be admitting defeat against her cyclone force of nature.

Dawn: Then I wish you luck in you valiant quest.

Derek: [sighs and rolls over to lay nose to nose with her] What are you thinking of doing then for breakfast?

Dawn: Dunkin Donuts, maybe? Or hitting a diner.

Derek: The diner sounds good. I can get real food there. I'm not really thinking donuts.

Dawn: I was thinking more breakfast sandwiches.

Derek: No, still diner. I’m starving.

Dawn: Diner it is. [she nods] Stiles is in the shower right now, though, so you might want to wait until he gets out.

Derek: That or I could really scar him for life.

Dawn: Cora might not appreciate you breaking her boyfriend.

Derek: But aren't we supposed to be working on making new awkward holiday moments? [smirks]

Dawn: Not that awkward.

Derek: Alright, I will let the boy keep his dignity and wait.

Dawn: Your sister will thank you.

Derek: The things I do for her happiness. [nuzzles her neck] She will probably want to take one next.

Dawn: [hums softly, her hand moving to his side] Probably.

Derek: So we will probably just want to stay in here for a while.

Dawn: [nods a bit as she moves closer to him] Good plan.

Derek: [kisses her neck] Good thing I put up soundproof walls.

Dawn: Very good. Means we can hide ourselves in here for as long as we want.

Derek: And as long as the door is locked... maybe we can text Cora to bring us back breakfast this year.

Dawn: I think they're going to IHOP. I could go for pancakes.

Derek: [reaches for his phone and going to text Cora] Pancakes and bacon.

Dawn: I want those cinnamon bun pancakes.

Derek: Extra crème stuff?

Dawn: You know me so well.

Derek: I try. [order is texted in with a big thank you and he puts the phone down and snuggle back into his girlfriend] So what shall we do?

Dawn: [hums a bit as she settles in closer] I definitely vote more of this.

Derek: How much do you think we can get away with?

Dawn: [she smirks a bit before leaning in to kiss him] I'm willing to try and find out.

Derek: [groans happily and rolls over to pull her on top of him a bit] Me too.

Dawn: [grins a bit as she settles on top of him before leaning in to kiss him again, this time slower, intending to savor it more]

Derek: [and it's a nice, lazy morning so he's happy to just take his time, running his hands along her hair and back, enjoying the kiss]

Dawn: [sinks into him, letting him keep the slow and lazy pace as she teases his bottom lip, silently willing everyone else to just stay away for as long as possible]

Derek: [he's be curious on how far she would let him get while they are in their own soundproof little bubble]

Dawn: [she is actually okay with pretty far, given that there's soundproofing and all that jazz, she shifts a bit against him, letting her fingers slide up and through his hair as she pulls him closer]

Derek: [and it is his house, so they better not be complaining anyway. So he's going to deepen that kiss, pulling her closer against him]

Dawn: [not enough people are around to be complaining. She moans softly into the kiss, leaning in closer as she settles into his hold]

Derek: [and Buffy will hopefully know better. But yeah, kissing and making out slow and steady because they have all the time in the world, and a lot to be thankful for with each other]

Dawn: [yes they do. So much thankfulness, but they have so little time to do it in, because as soon as things are starting to get good and Derek's hands are wandering to where she really wants them, the bedroom door flies open]

Buffy: [walks in, hand over her eyes] Is it safe? Are you dressed?

Dawn: No. We are very, very naked. Go away.

Derek: Seriously? The door was closed. You could at least knock.

Buffy: If I knocked you would have ignored me.

Dawn: As is our right with a closed door.

Buffy: There are people here. Do you have any shame?

Derek: No, we have a soundproof bedroom.

Dawn: [huffs as she turns to look at her sister] What do you want?

Buffy: I can't find your turkey baster.

Derek: Didn't you buy one last year?

Buffy: No. I don't think so.

Derek: Well, then I don't own one. You're the one who does the turkey cooking here.

Buffy: [huffs a bit, before sighing and taking a step back] Fine. Okay. You can resume doing things that I don't want to know about.

Derek: You could ask Scott if his mother has one that she can let you borrow.

Buffy: Oh! There's an idea. [and with that, she'll close the door behind her]

Dawn: [sighs heavily] I really hate her sometimes.

Derek: I will install a lock on the inside tomorrow.

Dawn: [she sighs] It may be the only way we get any peace in times like this.

Derek: Hold on a moment. [and he gets up and goes to move a chair under the door handle] There, I used to do this as a kid. That should keep anyone out.

Dawn: [smiles a bit at that] Perfect. Now come back here.

Derek: [goes to crawl back into bed with her, cupping her cheek with a hand and going back to kiss her]

Dawn: [hums a bit into the kiss, her hand moving to his side to pull him closer]

Derek: [and he's going to gently lower her back into the bed, stretching out on top of her]

Dawn: [a small happy noise as she settles under him, her fingers dragging up his back to pull him closer]

Derek: [and he is going to slide closer, pressing himself down on her as his fingers thread in her hair, kissing her hard]

Dawn: [moans softly into the kiss, shifting her legs so that they frame his hips and he can get closer]

Derek: [and as she does that, he's going to fit himself snuggly between them so that he can grind against her needfully]

Dawn: [she sighs softly as her hips press back up into him, meeting his motions with soft circles of her hips]

Derek: [and he is just going to enjoy making out with her until he needs to pull back from kissing along her body, panting as he looks up at her] Condom.

Dawn: [hand fumbles to the table besides he bed, pulling open the drawer to fish one out before pulling him back in again, placing it in his hand]

Derek: [and with practiced ease, he's going to suit up and slide up to kiss her as he presses himself up inside of her]

Dawn: [her fingers dig into his shoulders as he slides into her, fingers digging into his shoulders as she pulls him closer in the kiss]

Derek: [he will kiss her nice and hard, one hand guiding her legs around his hips so that he could rock against her nice and deep]

Dawn: [follows his lead, locking her legs around his hips and using that leverage to rock up into him as best she can, meeting him thrust for thrust]

Derek: [and like all the times they make love, time disappears and it's just the two of them, bodies in sync, and Derek feeling like he is right where he should be]

Dawn: [she gets carried away with him, just drowning in the moment for as long as she can until she feels the tension building and she's falling over the edge, her legs tightening around his hips]

Derek: [as he gets to his edge he presses his lips to the crook of her neck, kissing her hard there, his teeth pressing against her skin]

Dawn: [she whines softly at that, her head tipping back to give him better access]

Derek: [his teeth run along her neck and she's going to have a hell of a hickey, but he doesn't break the skin as he falls over the edge with a hard thrust]

Dawn: [it's okay, she's gotten used to wearing her hair down at this point. She just sighs and relaxes under him, sliding her fingers through his hair as she keeps him close]

Derek: [and he's going to nuzzle her neck as he comes down, and then kisses her] I love you.

Dawn: [smiles a bit at that as she turns to face him] I love you too.

Derek: [he looks down at her, smiling] You know, we never talked about what happened when I went to talk to the oracles.

Dawn: [her eyebrows climb a bit at that] You went to see them? Did you punch them in the face for being jerks?

Derek: I withheld that urge just to be able to get information to find you. But um... I realized something while I was there.

Dawn: What?

Derek: That what we've got... that I want more.

Dawn: More how?

Derek: [he runs his fingers along her cheek] I called you my mate. It just came out, and I keep thinking back and I'm not wrong.

Dawn: [her smile widens a bit at that, because she can't say she doesn't like the sound of that] Yeah? [the question is softer, a little more uncertain because she knows this is a big deal for him]

Derek: Yeah. Lately I’ve been feeling it, and just wanting to be with you forever. But it's a lot to ask from you.

Dawn: Not as much as you think. Derek, there's nowhere else I want to be.

Derek: I don't know what it all means still. I've been meaning to talk to Peter about it, but he has his own things to deal with.

Dawn: Well, we don't have to do this fast, whatever it is. We have time.

Derek: I know. Especially now that we know I'm not dying and you're no longer in danger of fading out of existence.

Dawn: [she nods, threading her fingers through his hair] I'm not going anywhere.

Derek: Neither am I. [He rests either forearm on the side of her head, leaning down over her] I know what I need to do, and who I want to be with. For the first time, I know my place in this city, and it's also with you.

Dawn: [she looks up at him and for once in her life she actually has no words. Well, she does, but any words she comes up with feel cheap. So she just watches him for a moment before pushing herself up to kiss him, long and slow]

Derek: [smiles and kisses her back, and then nuzzling her cheek]

Dawn: [sighs as she settles in with him] I really wish we weren't going to have a million people over today.

Derek: Well, the good thing is that most if not all of them will be leaving once the food is gone.

Dawn: I just wish they weren't here now. We could stay in bed all day.

Derek: Well, unless you really need to go shopping tomorrow, we can just schedule that for tomorrow?

Dawn: I never go shopping on Black Friday. That sounds like the perfect plan.

Derek: Good. Then you just spend all of today thinking up things we can do all day tomorrow. Or maybe start our Black Friday celebration earlier depending on when we shut our doors. [smirks and kisses]

Dawn: [laughs as she kisses him back] I vote for as soon as everyone is gone.

Derek: Then you better start working on that list while I go shower. [kisses and pushes up, looking for his robe]

Dawn: [hums softly and nods, before closing her eyes with a sigh] I'm going to have to shower again when you're done.

Derek: [he looks over at her and smirked] You smell perfect to me.

Dawn: But will the rest of our guests agree with that?

Derek: Probably not, but half won't notice anyway. And the ones who do will probably know better than to say anything.

Dawn: Two of them are your sisters.

Derek: [sighs because it's not like either of them would not have smelt her like that but] You want to just join me and we can make it faster?

Dawn: [look as much as she loves rubbing it in her sister's face, she likes Cora and Laura too much to do that to them. However, the idea of a slippery, sudsy Derek is a pleasant one] I could go for that. [she fumbles for her own robe and starts to get out of bed]

Derek: [He grins and goes to walk with her to the bathroom for that shower, and while they may play a bit, condoms and showers don't work so they will behave]

Dawn: [unfortunately but thankfully both Stiles and Cora were able to shower while she and Derek were otherwise distracted, so by the time they finish being wet and slippery there are pancakes on the table with a side of little sister judgment. Or resentment at the double standard. Choose your own adventure.]

Derek: [he's dressed and raises an eyebrow at her. Because he would give her the same look if she had, but he wouldn't actively stop them. He's not the one who objects to this relationship any longer or denies the fact they are having sex.]

Cora: [yes, well, her boyfriend is still scared of both of you, so grrrr.] Your food's over there.

Derek: [which he will never complain about.] Thank you. How much do I owe you?

Cora: [she hands him the receipt, before going back to hanging out with Stiles on the couch]

Derek: [chuckles and goes to get her the cash from his wallet, handing it to him.]

Stiles: [looking between the siblings and nope, not asking]

Cora: [sighs and curls up with him, shifting so that her back is resting against his side, but his arm could still loop around her.]

Dawn: [emerges a few minutes later, toweling her hair dry again] Oooh, food. Yummy.

Stiles: [and he will, and he will playfully feed her some bacon]

Derek: [is making her plate] Anyone need a coffee refill?

Dawn: Me please.

Cora: [smirks a bit as she reaches for it, chomping down as she relaxes into his arms more]

Stiles: [ grins and then goes to kiss her after she finishes eating it.] I could use a refill too.

Derek: [nods and goes to get Dawn and Stiles coffee before flopping onto the couch across from them] So you two staying here this weekend or at Stiles'?

Cora: [kisses him back, before turning back to her brother] Probably a little of both.

Stiles: You don't mind, do you?

Derek: No. I just figure if the three of us - [being Cora, Derek and Laura] - are going to be here, we can at least work to make sure we're giving each other time alone so we're not overcrowding.

Cora: [looks a bit grateful at that, before nodding] Yeah. That would be good.

Derek: Good. [because it's your home too, Cora. And he's getting better at seeing that you're an adult.]

Cora: [if only they could get Laura to see the same way.]

Laura: [speaking of which, she has wandered down at the siren scent of food and coffee] What's good?

Derek: Figuring out a schedule for the weekend to alone time in the loft so we're not tripping over each other.

Laura: [is half asleep enough that she doesn't read too much into that] Okay. I guess.

Derek: And for the record, Dawn and I are claiming tomorrow. [smirks and reaches for his plate]

Stiles: Oh, so this whole conversation was really just a lead into us knowing not to come near the loft after we leave tonight?

Dawn: More like a friendly warning.

Laura: [there's a few sips of coffee, before her brain starts to work again] Wait, what?

Derek: Nothing. [evil little brother smirk. See, Cora, he knows how to do it to Laura just as well as you can do it at him]

Cora: [smirks back]

Laura: [glances back and forth between the four of them and just groans] I hate you all.

Derek: We love you too, Laura.

Laura: I haven't even had my coffee yet.

Derek: That's not our fault then.

Stiles: Actually, it's more like strategic planning...

Cora: [elbows him in the ribs]

Laura: [a look at Stiles] Not helping. [she doesn't like the idea that she's being conned either]

Stiles: [ow. He pouts at Cora]

Derek: I'm sure you want to have time with Parrish as well, Laura, without Cora or I being in the way.

Laura: [there's a silent look at that because it's not Derek she's worried about. It's their teenage sister and her teenage boyfriend and it's going to take her time to be okay with that.]

Cora: [rolls her eyes at her sister, before snuggling back into her boyfriend more]

Derek: [sighs and looks at her because they really need to have the talk about letting Laura let it go and let Cora grow up in her eyes]

Stiles: [is going to snuggle back, lacing his fingers with hers and just being adorable]

Laura: [glances back to Derek and her eyebrows go up a bit, almost as though to say "what?"]

Derek: [kisses Dawn's cheek and gets up, motioning for Laura to join him on the balcony]

Laura: [huffs a bit before taking her coffee cup and following him out to the balcony]

Derek: [waits until she is out there with him, and then turns to look at her] You need to ease up on them.

Laura: [her eyebrows go up] Oh do I?

Derek: Yes, you do. I know you're trying to be the big sister here, and somewhere Cora appreciates it, but I've walked this route already and Cora left this house because of it.

Laura: [sighs heavily] They're too young, Derek.

Derek: Too young? [he looks back into the room] The girl on the couch there is eighteen if my calendar is correct. Stiles? Turns eighteen in April. And they've been together for almost a year now, so it's not like this is something short term. When they started this, yeah, I would agree with you. I did. But then I realized that they are both a lot more intelligent about their relationship than I ever was at their age.

Laura: [her eyebrows go up a bit and then she shakes her head] This is not about her having sex. Which ... [her hands come up because she's not necessarily happy about that either, but as he said, they're eighteen, it's bound to happen sooner or later] Don't think I haven't seen the marks on Stiles.

Derek: What, the hickey? They're still teenagers.

Laura: [there's a bit of a look at that, like "c'mon, Derek," before she realizes that he's actually serious] ... you don't know?

Derek: Know what? [confused]

Laura: [sighs heavily] Hickeys aren't hickeys for werewolves, Derek. It's staking a claim.

Derek: [one eyebrow goes up] Excuse me?

Laura: [rubs her forehead with one hand as she leans back against the railing of the balcony] You haven't noticed it with Dawn? When you're with her, you want to bite?

Derek: [and yeah, that's both his eyebrows going up as his attention shifts away from Cora to his own life] Not to give you too much detail into my life behind closed doors, but yes. But I'm not a biter.

Laura: [she sighs] Wolves bite to show their claim on a mate to the rest of the pack. Werewolves do too. Human teeth is kind of like being engaged, but our real teeth ...

Derek: I never felt that with Paige though, or Kate. [for your information] Only with Dawn, and only now. Why would that be then?

Laura: Because you've decided she's your mate.

Derek: [goes to look back at Cora and Stiles] And you think that Cora isn't old enough to be able to make that kind of choice?

Laura: I don't think she's old enough for what comes after. [she runs a hand through her hair] The hickeys are fine. She'll be a bit more protective over him, but in Beacon Hills that isn't such a bad thing. But the next part ... mate bonds aren't something you do lightly. You'll be able to feel what they feel, if you're in trouble, they'll know, and if either of you die ... the other doesn't really make it much longer after that.

Derek: Then you need to talk to her about that. And not make her feel that you think she's too young to have a serious relationship with a boy she's in love with.

Laura: She's eighteen, Derek. Which may be an adult in the eyes of the law but that doesn't mean she's ready for something that serious. Especially in a town like Beacon Hills.

Derek: She was raised in a community of slayers in Scotland since she was eleven, Lar. You didn't see her when she first came back. You thought I was bad after the fire... she had no one. She thought we were all dead, and she shut herself off of all her emotions. And it wasn't me who broke through to her, or any of my betas back then, or even Scott. It was that boy right there. The reason she's able to smile and laugh like we see her do now is all because of him. [he crossed his arms] Maybe she's not ready for the next step, but that's not our choice to make for her. It's theirs. All you can do is make sure she knows what she's getting herself into.

Laura: [she sighs softly as she turns her eyes back into the main area, watching Cora and Stiles. her eyes go a bit sad, one hand rubbing her arm as she does. she missed too much and she knows it, feels it every time she looks at her and she just wants to protect her the way she couldn't after the fire. It isn't that she wants her to be unhappy with her. She just wants her to be safe.]

Derek: [looks at his older sister and moves over, pulling his arm around her and pulling her in a bit] Just be her sister, Laura. That's all we want. And I got lucky to have you. She misses you too, but you need to just be her sister, and not her protector. Once you do that, you will both figure each other again, I promise.

Laura: [she leans into him, letting her head rest his shoulder a bit] I didn't know there was a difference. [being the oldest, the next alpha, it's always been about protecting them. She doesn't know how to do it any other way]

Derek: I didn't either when I was an alpha. It was after I lost it that I learned it. She can take care of herself - and has so many times. She knows what choices she's making. She just wants you to believe in her and trust her, and to be there so if she does need you to lean on, she doesn't have to go far.

Laura: [she sighs a bit, still watching them.] He's still really annoying.

Derek: He'll grow on you. He's had a hard life too. Mother died when he was little and he has ADHD and gets panic attacks. And now he's the only human in a pack of creatures and he's the one who helps keep them human. [looks over at her] And he almost died last year.

Laura: Not making me feel better about the first thing we talked about.

Derek: [chuckles] Talk to Cora about the biting thing. It'll be a lot less awkward coming from you I bet. And then just let up a little and just get to know them, okay?

Laura: [takes a deep breath and sighs] Fine.

Derek: [looks over at her and smiles, and then pulls her into a hug whether she wants it or not, nuzzling her cheek against hers]

Laura: [no, hugs are good. Even if she's going to pout through it like a child who's about to do something she doesn't want to do]

Derek: [kisses her cheek, a silent promise that he was going to make sure they figure out how to save her so she could have a future too with them for years to come] Come on, breakfast is getting cold.

Laura: [she nods a big, grabbing her coffee mug and making her way back inside]

Scott: [arriving at the perfect time, holding a turkey baster] So why did my mom send me over here like I was on a noble quest?

Buffy: [darts over to snatch it out of his hands with a smile and a kiss on the cheek] You're the best. Make yourself at home, but stay out of the kitchen.

Stiles: I think you just saved Thanksgiving, Scott. Sit down, have some bacon.

Scott: Oh, bacon. I can do bacon

Cora: [nudges the take out container over to him] How'd dinner with your dad go?

Scott: It went okay, actually. And he got called in on a real case during desert, so we don't have to worry about him crashing into dinner. He had to go back to San Francisco for a few days, but he said he was planning on spending the holidays here.

Cora: That's good, isn't it?

Scott: Yeah. I mean, I guess. [rubs the back of his head] I just... I know he's trying to make an effort and I think mom actually wants to make it work too, I just am waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Dawn: [nods a bit. She knew how that went with her own dad - sort of - and unfortunately with Mr. Summers, the shoe did drop.] For what it's worth? I know deadbeat dads - he doesn't seem quite so dead. More like he's on the critical list, but showing signs of improvement.

Stiles: And I mean, hey, he hasn't left yet. And he's been attacked what, at least twice now? I think he's adapting to the town again.

Cora: [smirks a bit] Have you told him yet? [about, you know, him being the alpha of a pack of werewolves]

Scott: [sinks back into the couch further] No, not yet. I guess, I mean I'm pretty sure that's the other shoe. And I don't know if I want him to leave just because of this.

Derek: You think he'll leave just because of what you are?

Scott: You didn't see the way my mom looked at me, Derek. I can't do that again even if it's him.

Dawn: Hey. [she reaches over and places her hand on his shoulder] Coming clean is the hardest part. Your mom didn't exactly find out in the best situation. But with your dad you have the chance to do it right. Do you really want to run the risk of him finding out the hard way?

Scott: No. And if he's staying, he needs to know. I know he's not safe not knowing. I'll... I'll figure it out.

Dawn: [nods a bit] Talk to your mom about it when you're ready. Having her there might help soften it a bit.

Stiles: Yeah, and I mean, really it has to go better than how my dad found out, and he took it fine after he realized I wasn't lying to him. And hey, I can ask my Dad if he can be there too.

Scott: That may be good too.

Dawn: [nods] And even if the shoe does drop - it's better to leave things in an honest place. Even if it will probably suck for a while.

Buffy: Just don't overreact if it goes badly at first. [she waves a hand] Trust me - it's never as bad as you make it out to be in your head.

Scott: [nods] Thanks, guys. I needed to hear that.

Dawn: No problem. Just don't run away to LA, and everything will be fine.

Buffy: I heard that!

Derek: [snorts]

Scott: I... I won't? I have classes still.

Dawn: [smirks a bit] That's what Buffy did when our mom didn't take it well. I was making fun of her.

Scott: Oh. Well, not going to LA. Got it.

Dawn: Good. That's all we ask.

Scott: Well, I should probably go. I was told to come back so that I can help carry pies. Which Buffy, my mom wants to know if six will be enough?

Buffy: If it's not, we really need to look at our life choices.

Scott: Okay, I'll tell her yes then. We'll be back at two, right? Or is that too early? I think she wanted to offer to help you with last minute stuff.

Buffy: No, two is perfect! We'll see you then.

Scott: See you then. [he gives them all a wave, and then heads out]

Stiles: So what shall we do until everyone else shows up? I mean, do you even have any board games or anything, Derek?

Derek: [raises eyebrow]

Dawn: Oh! We could play charades! Or Pictionary.

Cora: I feel like the latter is asking for trouble.

Stiles: I could run home and grab something. You guys ever play cards against humanity?

Dawn: I hear whispers of it.

Laura: Never even heard of it. [though no one should be surprised, given that she was dead for a while]

Stiles: Okay, well you ever play apples to apples?

Dawn: Yes!

Laura: [long pause before she shakes her head]

Stiles: Okay, well in this one you have a hand of cards with phrases that talk about things in the media or pop culture that aren't always politically correct, and then each person takes a turn as the judge where they put down a phrase and you try to use your cards to get the best... or really worst answer, and the judge decides who wins that round and the winner gets points.

Laura: [... not entirely sure she gets it but she can usually pick up things quickly] Sounds easy enough.

Stiles: It'll be fun. It'll just take me what, fifteen minutes to run home and back. That work?

Cora: [nods a bit] Sounds good.

Stiles: Alright. I'll be right back then. [goes to see if Buffy needs him to pick up anything first before he heads out]

Buffy: [she's good for right now, now that she has her baster, but for the most part she's just shooing him out of the kitchen to be on his way]

Stiles: [and he will be gone for like 15 minutes so people can talk about him behind his back]

Laura: [yep, Laura's going to take her sister upstairs to have a chat with her, leaving Derek alone with the Summers sisters. Sorry, Derek.]

Derek: [nope, while she does that, he's going to look at Dawn] So um... I found out something interesting that I didn't know.

Dawn: [eyebrows go up a bit, before glancing back towards her sister] Is this something we want Buffy in earshot for?

Derek: [thinks] Probably not.

Dawn: [takes his hand to pull him up and back towards their bedroom]

Derek: [goes with her, heading to sit down on the edge of the bed] Laura told me why she had been worried about Cora and Stiles, and it wasn't what I was expecting... and it brought up something I didn't know about werewolf habits.

Dawn: [her eyebrows climb a bit] Good or bad something?

Derek: Neither, or both. You know how when we make love, how I tend to play right at the crook of your neck right as we... you know.

Dawn: [she nods. She likes that actually, even if it's led to her wearing her hair down a lot more lately] What about it?

Derek: It... well, according to Laura, it's a werewolf mating thing. It's a way of staking claim.

Dawn: .... Oh. [that's ... okay. That's good to know.]

Derek: She thought I knew. And she’s been seeing the mark on Stiles too

Dawn: ........ Oh. [her words are not as rambly as they usually are, but she's getting the gist] I take it Laura thinks they're too young?

Derek: Yeah. I told her that they are both old enough to know what they want, but if she's concerned, she needs to let Cora know the werewolf side of things so that she's prepared in making her choices.

Dawn: Is that how you really feel about this?

Derek: I've watched the two of them for the last year. I think they are good together. So yeah, I think they need to be left to make their own choices when it comes to what their future is, and hope that they make the right ones for each other.

Dawn: That's very level headed of you.

Derek: But I asked Laura why I would only have wanted to do this to you, since I never felt this urge before with Paige or Kate... and she told me it's a sign that I've chosen a mate.

Dawn: [she nods a bit at that, reaching for his hand at that] So what we talked about this morning - it's the real deal.

Derek: Yeah. [squeezing her hand] But there's another level to it too that I didn't know.

Dawn: Still that mix of good and bad?

Derek: Yeah. It's a final claim. Something I'm going to want to do that once I do, we can't turn back.

Dawn: [nods a bit] What do you have to do?

Derek: Laura described it as biting you with my real teeth. [his fangs] It creates a mate bond and it's for life. It'll link us so that we can feel each other, know if the other is in trouble... but if what she says is true, it also means that when one of us dies, the other is quick to follow.

Dawn: [she sucks in a bit of a breath at the last part] How fortunate for us that we don't live lives of constant near death experiences.

Derek: [nods] Which is as big of a threat to us as it is to Cora and Stiles.

Dawn: [nods in agreement] Especially since they're still kids.

Derek: But you and I aren't kids. [squeezes her hand]

Dawn: [squeezes her hand back] No, we're not. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't think about this. Especially with my tendency to be kidnapped and your tendency to have people around who want to kill you.

Derek: I'm good at controlling my urges so far. But I think until we're really ready, we just need to make sure if you feel my fangs, you stop me so we don't take that step.

Dawn: [she nods a bit in agreement] I will. I trust you.

Derek: Good. And I'll take care of you.

Dawn: I know you will. [slides her arms around his neck pulls him close] I'll take care of you too.

Derek: [arms around her waist, looking up at her] Good. Now come on, let's go back out before they think we're unable to keep hands to ourselves for more than an hour.

Dawn: [she smirks a bit at that, before leaning in to kiss him softly] I love you.

Derek: [ kisses her back, smiling] I love you too, Dawn.

Dawn: [and with that they head back out again, and Cora and Laura are back on the couch. They seem like a bit of the air has been cleared, but it's hard to say how much]

Derek: [heads back in, smiling at his sisters and hoping it's a good silence between them]

Stiles: [and he returns] So I got cards against humanity. I was going to grab Monopoly but I figured that it may get to be a long game so I didn't and I figured that twister was right out but I did find trivial pursuit and it's a few years old so I don't think anyone would have an advantage there...

Cora: [glances up at him and smirks] I think Trivial Pursuit is the one we all might stand the best chance at.

Stiles: Well, good thing I grabbed it then. We can play humanity later too because it's for like, up to ten players so yeah. [and he puts down his backpack and pulls out the game that was dated back to like, the mid ninety’s.]

Cora: [moves over a bit so that he can sit next to her and watches as he sets up the game]

Stiles: [and they will have family bonding times with trivia and gentle ribbing at each other]

Malia: [yep, fun times will be had for all until this party is crashed by one awkward werecoyote] Am I too early?

Derek: [turns to look at her first, smiling] Not at all. Come in, Malia. You want something to drink? [he gets up to stretch]

Stiles: You can be on our team.

Malia: Water's fine. [brow furrows at Stiles] Team for what?

Laura: [on the other hand, who had gotten up to get a glass of water from the kitchen, returns to see Malia and promptly drops the glass she was holding]

Malia: [her head snaps towards the sound and her eyes narrow at the way Laura is looking at her] Who are you?

Stiles: Trivia Pursuit.

Derek: [blinks, and oh shit....] Um, sorry, I should have done that. Malia, this is my sister, Laura. Laura, this is Malia Tate. [he looks at his sister because he wants to know what she knows beyond what her nose is telling her suddenly]

Laura: [it isn't even her nose really, it's just looking at her is like seeing a ghost and she doesn't really know where to start.] Sorry. Sorry, you ... you just surprised me, that's all. [she glances over at the broken glass and goes for a towel] I'm just gonna clean this up.

Malia: [her eyes narrow even more] I thought your other sister was dead.

Derek: [nods] She was, but when we were in Mexico, someone did something she wasn't supposed to - [looking so lovingly at Dawn] - and it brought her back to life.

Stiles: Remember how we said people can't stay dead in this city? Perfect example of it working for us.

Dawn: I'm never going to live that down, am I?

Malia: [doesn't really care about Derek and Dawn being adorable] Why are you looking at me like that?

Laura: No reason. Just caught me off guard. [she's grabbing the bigger pieces of glass and tossing them in the trash, before taking the towel and trying to get up the water and smaller shards and very pointedly is not looking at Malia.]

Derek: Nope, never.

Stiles: [looks over at Laura and Malia, and then Cora and mouths 'does she know?']

Cora: [glances back to him and shrugs, before paying more attention to her sister]

Malia: [yeah, Malia smells a rat, but she's going to let it go for now, plopping down on the couch on the other side of Cora and Stiles] So what's this game?

Laura: [yep, going to just quietly clean up the glass and not look at anyone right now.]

Derek: [goes to help her, his eyes doing all the asking]

Stiles: [moves over and makes room, explaining the game and acting like everything's just fine. Because it's totally fine]

Laura: [just looks up at him, before sighing a bit and shaking her head as though to say "not here."]

Derek: [nods and takes the glass from her to throw away so she can follow him into the kitchen and use it to exit out the place for a moment]

Laura: [yep, she will take that exit and Dawn will just watch as her team vacates the premises. No worries, she can totally take three teenagers at trivial pursuit]

Derek: [once they are outside] You look like you've seen a ghost.

Laura: [swallows hard, closing her eyes for a moment] She's Peter's kid, isn't she?

Derek: Yeah, she is. And she knows, as does he. He doesn't remember how, and he's been trying to find out ever since he learned.

Laura: [shakes her head a bit] She looks just like her mom.

Derek: You remember her? [blinks]

Laura: I only saw her once. She and Mom were getting into it at the house. I don't know who she was but Mom seemed to think she was bad news. She must not have known she was pregnant when she took Peter's memories.

Derek: [deep breath] That... would explain it better than he was thinking.

Laura: [eyebrows go up] Do I want to know what he was thinking?

Derek: He thinks mom knew about the baby and took that away from him. [he explains about the claws and what he had heard about Lydia pulling from them that Peter was a father]

Laura: The woman was human, Derek. Mom way have been a little heavy handed in this, and I don't know how much this woman knew but if there was a kid, she wouldn't have wanted to risk that.

Derek: [crosses his arms] The last few months, he's been trying to find anything on who Malia's real mother is. Anything to give to her so he can at least do something right for the girl. [looks in the window] Before the fire, there was a car accident. It was Malia's first shift, and she was alone with her adoptive human family and it went bad.

Laura: [her eyes close at that] Damn.

Derek: She ended up shifting into a full coyote, Laura, and kept herself trapped in that form for 8 years.

Laura: How'd you get her out?

Derek: I didn't. Scott and Stiles did.

Laura: Right. Alpha. [she rubs a hand against the back of her neck] Look, I don't know anything about her mom. I don't even know the woman's name. I just saw her once.

Derek: Right now all the have is a code name. Desert Wolf. They don't even have a face.

Laura: [......] Desert Wolf?

Derek: [nods] Yeah. It's the only thing Peter's found after he was able to acquire Malia's sealed adoption records.

Laura: Desert Wolf is an assassin.

Derek: [nods] So I've heard.

Laura: Are they sure they want to find her?

Derek: I think they both need the closure. Malia needs to know who she is, and Peter... Peter needs to have something to hold onto to remind him that he isn't the monster he became, and Malia is that thing.

Laura: That's a lot to pin on a kid.

Derek: It is, but I've heard that for a while, they were good together. Peter's setback damaged it, but if he can regain it, I want to think he can start to really find a firm grip in reality and get back to being the man we all remember him as.

Laura: [crosses his arms in front of her chest] And who's going to protect her if this goes wrong again?

Derek: The pack.

Laura: The pack full of Hales.

Derek: The pack full of her family. And friends.

Laura: [sighs softly] I just hope she trusts you enough.

Derek: She's learning to. And she's got good instincts. She just needs people willing to not be frustrated with her and help her adjust to being human again.

Laura: [takes a deep breath] She at least knows about Peter, right?

Derek: [nods] She knows everything. And that he's her father.

Laura: At least there's that.

Derek: She's a good kid. Confused and nervous, but a good kid.

Laura: [she nods a bit]

Derek: You can get to know her, you know. She's getting used to the idea of us being her family beyond her adoptive father.

Laura: If that's what she wants.

Derek: All you have to do is ask. [he worries a bit that Laura may hurt Malia’s opinion on Peter, but he knows Malia at this point wants to form her own opinions and not just listen blindly to others]

Laura: [if she talks to her she probably won't talk about Peter unless Malia brings it up, honestly. And if she knows anything about Laura she probably won't] Okay.

Derek: So you good?

Laura: [she nods] I'm good.

Derek: Let's head back then and make sure Dawn isn't being outsmarted by a teenager and two puppies.

Laura: [deep breath before nodding and making her way back upstairs]

Dawn: [and she is ... totally kicking their ass. Because this is her era. Suck it, Stiles.]

Stiles: [is frustrated and just looking at Cora and Malia] No, really guys, we need to like talk before you just shout out an answer.

Derek: [looks at the group amused] I shouldn't have doubted.

Dawn: [tips her head with a grin] Hey, babe. We're winning.

Malia: [looks a bit sullen] I thought I knew that one.

Derek: [goes to slide in behind her, hands on Dawn's shoulders. He's been a lot easier with PDA in ways that were just easily displays that should have been normal to him for years.] You're not beating them too badly, are you?

Stiles: Oh, trust me, we're going to make a comeback.

Dawn: He should not have picked a game from the nineties. He should have known better.

Stiles: I was born in the nineties. I can answer these questions! It's my game!

Dawn: And yet I'm still winning.

Stiles: [he's making the wordless motions at her that are interpretive responses to his frustration]

Cora: [pets his shoulder gently] Sorry, honey.

Stiles: [huffs and leans back into the couch]

Buffy: [from the kitchen] Someone help me set the tables?

Stiles: I'll help. [mutters about it saving his honor]

Cora: [sighs before getting up to help him] Me too.

Malia: [blinks as ... most of her team disappeared]

Stiles: Come on, Malia, I'll show you where to put the forks when you're setting the table. It may come in handy.

Malia: [swallows a bit before nodding as she makes her way to the kitchen]

Xander: [and he and Willow are here!] Is it safe? Can we eat?

Scott: [is following behind with his mom and the Sheriff] I hope it's safe to eat. I'm starving.

Buffy: [and out she comes with a beautiful, glistening turkey] Yep. Get in here.

Sheriff: That looks amazing, Buffy. [and he goes to help in the kitchen]

Buffy: Thank you.

Dean: [and in come the Winchesters] I hope you made a lot because I am starving.

Ben: But don't worry, we brought the entertainment for the evening. Much better than a football game.

Derek: Why do I have a bad feeling about that?

Olivia: So high school kid made a musical about Dad and Uncle Dean. [she grins] We got it on tape!

Buffy: [stops and looks up] Someone wrote a musical about them or did the musical demon come back? Was anyone on fire?

Ben: Didn't see a demon, but something exploded at the end of the first half.

Sam: Derek, please tell me you have alcohol.

Derek: Sorry, this loft has more teenagers than adults in it these days.

Xander: If you guys weren't actually singing, then I don't think it counts.

Buffy: [pouts slightly] No one ever made a musical about me.

Stiles: I happen to think that's a good thing? Pretty sure I'd like to always remain in that category.

Dawn: The last time one of our cases got musical, Buffy nearly spontaneously combusted and I almost became a hell dimension child bride. Your case sounds a lot more fun.

Dean: You haven't seen it yet.

Ben: We also brought popcorn. [smirks his father's smirk]

Dean: [sighs] Don't worry, Sammy. I'll make a whiskey run.

[and the rest of the pack drabbles in and food times. so much food time. and then the Winchester trio put on their camera recording of the Supernatural musical. and there is much laughing while Sam and Dean do much drinking. and then dessert time and the different couples drifting off to the various corners of the houses]

Cora: [yep. the Winchesters will make their way out with leftovers, Malia will take her dessert and venture out to points unknown, and Buffy will be cleaning up the kitchen, and she's going to curl up with her boyfriend like the tiny, tryptophan loaded werewolf that she is. He is warm and comfortable and she is sleepy and lazy, so she's just going to settle into his lap, her head resting against his shoulder as they sit on the couch]

Stiles: [he is also nice and sleepy, and is very happy to have his warm girlfriend in his lap. He will just wrap his arms around her, keeping her close] Hey you.

Cora: [a sleepy smile as she looks up at him] Hey.

Stiles: Overall, that was a good pack family dinner, don't you think?

Cora: [nods a bit] Definitely. [smirks a bit] And we get Saturday.

Stiles: [laughs] I really hate to say it, but your brother's really mellowed out since he turned into a giant dog.

Cora: [she grins] Yeah, he has.

Stiles: I kinda like him this way. [kisses along her shoulder] Can we get your sister to turn into a dog too?

Cora: [she laughs a bit before shaking her head] We talked. She's gonna try.

Stiles: What'd you two talk about?

Cora: [she pauses before her fingers move up to the collar of his shirt, pulling it down so that she can see where her mark was fading] This.

Stiles: Oh crap, she saw it? I swear, I was trying to hide it from them...

Cora: [she shakes her head] She didn't think I knew what it meant.

Stiles: You mean the whole thing that Peter told you?

Cora: [she nods] Yeah.

Stiles: What she say?

Cora: She thinks we're too young for the big step, and she wants us to be careful.

Stiles: Well, glad to know she's on the same page we are?

Cora: [nods a bit] She's still not ... going to be the warmest person in the world, but she's going to try and lay off a bit.

Stiles: Good. Because I would like to get to know her and not be worried I'm going to get my hand bit off every time I try and extend it.

Cora: I know. Just ... she's gotta get used to you too.

Stiles: It's easier for her to get used to me if she lets me actually talk to her. I want to try, Cora, you know that.

Cora: No, I know. But she's basically Derek when he first got here, but actually pissed at Peter.

Stiles: Well, i hope to avoid the violence that I went through from your brother who, for the record, was very punch first.

Cora: That's one benefit to being my boyfriend. She'll be ninety percent less likely to manhandle you. [her voice drops a bit with a smirk] That's my job.

Stiles: [chuckles] And that I can handle.

Cora: [grins] Good.

Stiles: [kisses her shoulder] so what are we going to do tomorrow then, since we have the loft Saturday.

Cora: [hums softly] You wanted to go see that book movie, right?

Stiles: Yeah. You've seen the first one, but we still have to get you caught up on the second one.

Cora: So we can do that at your house and then go see the last one?

Stiles: That works.

Cora: [she nods a bit] We should probably go soon. [she was sleepy and she figures getting out of Derek and Dawn's way sooner is better than later]

Stiles: Alright. Let's just say our goodbyes and go.

Cora: [nods a bit, before slowly, reluctantly, untangling herself from Stiles and going to find her brother]

Derek: [and he's helping clean up the kitchen, but looks up when Cora comes over] Heading back already?

Cora: [nods a bit] We figured we'd get out of your hair early.

Derek: You're not in my hair, but that's fine. You want me to make sure we leave any specific leftovers in the fridge for you?

Cora: [she shakes her head] I'm good. I think the Sheriff took a lot home too.

Derek: Good. Then I'll see you sometime this weekend. Get home safe.

Cora: I will. [gives his arm a bit of a squeeze as she turns to go] Have fun tomorrow.

Derek: We are going to probably sleep for most of it, or just lay around the house. [he reached up to rub her arm as well] You too.

Cora: [nods a bit before going back to find Stiles]

Stiles: [and he will have said his goodbyes and will be at the door with their jackets]

Cora: [slips it on and follows him out the door. She still has some clothes stashed at his house]
