Sheriff: [so they will be waking up to the doorbell. Somewhere in Lindsay's room, Ben is just swearing and turning over in bed because he's so not getting out of it for anyone]

Laura: [mumbles as she slides out from under Parrish's arm, before getting up and stumbling towards the door. She opens it and ...] Sheriff!

Sheriff: Hi Laura. Please tell me your idiot boyfriend is still here.

Laura: [her eyebrows go up and she points] He's sleeping.

Sheriff: Good. He's about to get a rude awakening. [steps in]

Lindsay: [Laura is so confused as Lindsay is also wriggling out of bed and pokes her head out to probably bitch about it until she sees who it is] Boss! What are you doing here at this godforsaken hour of the morning?

Sheriff: I'm here become someone thought he could turn in his badge while I was out to dinner and didn't think I would track his ass down.

Lindsay: [nods] And since that someone is obviously not me, I'm going back to sleep. Good luck. [and she disappears behind the door again]

Laura: ... I'll go wake him up. [And she will flee back to the bedroom because angry Sheriff bad]

Parrish: [he's heard enough and he's already pulling on a shirt, debating on if he would be fine with an escape out the window]

Laura: [and then Laura's at the door, and she looks really confused] If you run, he might shoot you.

Parrish: For the record, I did that before we talked.

Laura: Good to know. But I think you should have a talk with him too.

Sheriff: I may shoot him anyway.

Parrish: [pulls on his sweatpants and sighs before walking out] Sheriff...

Sheriff: Sit down, son.

Laura: [will just follow and go sit on the couch next to him for moral support]

Parrish: Sir, I'm dangerous...

Sheriff: No, I'm going to talk, okay. First of all, you're one of my best deputies. I'm not going to let you go this easy. You have saved a lot of people in this town.

Parrish: People are going to die because of me.

Laura: People are going to die because of the Beast. Not because of you.

Sheriff: And what's to say that you leaving is going to stop that. Maybe you're here to save them.

Parrish: I'm a hellhound, guys. Hell is a part of the name.

Laura: Semantics.

Sheriff: Son, I've seen evil. I've stared it in the eyes while it wore my kid's face. You're not it.

Laura: The hellhound exists to protect the supernatural. That means protecting the mundane world from it too.

Parrish: [jaw set]

Sheriff: You told me you were drawn here, Parrish. What's to say that you get too far from that and it's going to take over and turn you right back around.

Laura: ... That's a possibility too. You're not the one in the driver's seat where the hound is concerned.

Parrish: [and he sighs at that]

Sheriff: Maybe, but the times where it matters, Parrish? The times when the Beast isn't around... that's you. That's the deputy I need to stay here and help me take care of this city.

Laura: [won't try and add or detract from that, but just reach over and squeeze Jordan's hand gently]

Parrish: [he looks at her hands, and then at the Sheriff] And what happens if this thing kills me?

Sheriff: It won't.

Parrish: But what -

Sheriff: We won't let it, son. You got enough people willing to back you up. You just gotta have a little faith in us, and yourself.

Laura: Besides, you've been willing to die to protect people your entire life. Do you really want to start running away now? [being a cop and being a soldier took a certain amount of bravery, and it's one of the things she loves about him. She doesn't want to see all of this turn him into a coward]

Sheriff: You're not alone in this. I don't care what the hell that hound in you says. You're Jordan Parrish. You're the best damn deputy I've had in a long time, and you are never alone. Got that?

Parrish: [takes a deep breath and nods] Got it.

Laura: Good.

Sheriff: [hands him back his badge] Now don't make me lecture you again.

Laura: [smirks at that, before letting go of his hand so he can take it]

Parrish: [chuckles and takes it] Yes, sir.

Sheriff: I'm going to let you have today off since you're obviously feverish to even think about quitting. But tomorrow your butt better be in your chair at oh seven hundred or you're stuck back on desk duty again.

Parrish: Yeah, I got it.

Laura: [she nods as she gets up] I'll walk you out.

Sheriff: [and he will go with Laura] Call me anytime he tries to talk himself out of it, and I will come back and shoot him in the kneecaps.

Laura: [she laughs] Don't worry. I'll make sure he's got his priorities in order.

Sheriff: You do that. [and he will head off to work]

Laura: [and she will shut the door behind him and come back to the living room]

Parrish: [fingers playing with his badge, thinking to himself]

Laura: [moves to sit next to him again] You okay?

Parrish: Not sure.

Laura: Wanna talk about it?

Parrish: I don't know if you can answer my questions.

Laura: I can try.

Parrish: How can we take the split personalities and make them one? Because if I'm doing this - I want control too. I need to know what I'm doing. I can't take the blackouts anymore.

Laura: I think that's something you're going to have to negotiate with him.

Parrish: I think I need the nemeton to help with that.

Laura: Okay. Maybe we can go up there today, then.

Parrish: Maybe.

Laura: I tried pointing that out to him before, but maybe it will be better coming from you.

Parrish: Maybe. But I think I need to find a way to be able to talk to him myself, and I feel like the tree will be the key.

Laura: Okay. Then we'll go up there today and see if we can figure it out.

Parrish: And before I lose my nerve.

Laura: Do you want to try and get more sleep, or do you want to go now?

Parrish: We should go now. I go back to sleep, I might talk myself out of it.

Laura: Then let's go. We can grab breakfast on the way.

Parrish: [nods, and off they go?]

Laura: [yep, up to the nemeton to commune with a hellhound. good times]

Parrish: [but just before he touches it] Laura... just know something. Just in case.

Laura: What?

Parrish: I love you, with all my heart. No matter what happens - don't forget that.

Laura: [she reaches over and gives his hand a small squeeze] I love you too.

Parrish: [and he is going to lean down and kiss her because he knows there's a chance this will go wrong and he will never be the one in control again]

Laura: [kisses him back gently, one hand coming up to brush against the side of his face]

Parrish: [and he will stay close a moment, and then pulls back and turn to look at the tree, his hand going to reach for it]

Laura: [and she will take a step back, crossing her arms in front of her chest as she goes]

Parrish: [and he's going to stand there, eyes closed as his fingers press into the moss on the stump that is starting to glow with orange energy. Every now and then his head will shift, almost like there is a long internal debate going on - which there was]

Laura: [and she'll wait patiently, hoping that this all goes in his favor which is pretty much her favor too]

Parrish: It will take a bit but eventually he will lift his hand slowly, and then turn to look at her, eyes glowing orange]

Laura: [and she will wait until he addresses her so she can figure out who she's talking to first]

Parrish: [give him a moment and then] Laura?

Laura: Yeah?

Parrish: Wow... I feel tingly. [and he will look at his hands, focusing before he formed fire on his fingers]

Laura: [her eyebrows go up a bit and she grins] Hey, that's progress.

Parrish: [nods] We need more power though. And I know where we need to go, and you're not going to like it.

Laura: ... Where's that?

Parrish: The Argents.

Laura: [yep, she doesn't like it. this is her "not liking it" face]

Parrish: You don't have to talk to them, or even let them know you're there. But I need you to keep a watch on them from the distance in case Gerard tries to double cross us.

Laura: [sighs and nods] That I can do.

Parrish: We need to find the Beast, and now. Before he becomes too powerful.

Laura: Then let's do it.

Parrish: [and off they go back into matching up with canon]

Laura: [yep and we will skip to somewhere else]

Stiles: [after Liam and Malia went to find Scott, he had gone off to find Cora. Only he got sidetracked with a bunch of scared people rushing into the locker room and he ended up grabbing a baseball bat out of coaches' office and went to stand guard at the door to help protect people in case the Beast came in here]

Cora: [which it didn't and Cora will eventually text him and say that she's getting Scott home to rest and will meet up with him later]

Stiles: [and once his father finds him and gives them the all clear he's heading for Scott's house and peeks in on what's about to become some sexual healing and yeah] Sorry [closing door now and going to head back downstairs]

Cora: [and she will be passed out on the couch exhausted and a little beat up but otherwise fine]

Stiles: [and he will find her next and goes to sit on the floor next to the couch and lean his head back towards her stomach and he will fall asleep just like that]

Cora: [and they will probably stay that way until she starts to rouse from her nap and catches his scent] Stiles?

Stiles: [nope, out to the world until there is coffee]

Cora: [glances over and smiles softly before brushing her hand over the top of his head gently]

Stiles: [groans happily and leans into her hand a bit] Mmmm, lower. [is still unconscious]

Cora: [she laughs, but will do as he asks, moving to drag her nails gently against the back of his head]

Stiles: [and he will groan, leaning his head forward because damn that feels good]

Liam: [from his spot on a chair] Do you really have to do that?

Cora: [her eyebrows go up] What?

Liam: [he returns the eyebrows and nods at Stiles who is drooling]

Cora: [she shrugs] What am I doing?

Liam: Making him a bit too happy for public company.

Cora: [rolls her eyes] I'm not.

Stiles: [rolls head to his side] You're a dirty girl....

Liam: [snorts] Oh really.

Cora: [gapes for a moment, before sneaking down to pinch his shoulder]

Stiles: OW! [yeah, now he's awake] What's wrong? What happened?

Cora: You were talking in your sleep.

Stiles: [rubs at his face, and then looks across at Liam's smug look] Oh. Sorry.

Liam: Yeah, sure.

Cora: [glances over to Liam] How are you healing?

Liam: Mostly better. Trying to find Mason for most of the night didn't help, but he's more important.

Cora: We'll find him, Liam. Buffy's got the Slayers out looking too.

Liam: [sighs and nods, but he's not that confident. After all, just a few weeks ago they were going to try and save Hayden and failed there. He's still hesitant]

Cora: [anyway, she shifts a bit and starts to get up] I'll go start the coffee.

Stiles: Coffee would be good.

Cora: Liam?

Liam: Yeah, sure. I think Lydia and Malia were going to come over soon.

Cora: Coffee for everybody. Isaac and Allison will probably be up soon too.

Stiles: I'll text Lydia and see if she'll bring over donuts or something.

Cora: Sounds good. [and into the kitchen she disappears as there are footsteps on the stairs and Allison appears]

Allison: Morning.

Stiles: Morning. [pulling himself up onto the couch]

Isaac: [stumbling down after her. Even half asleep his hair is perfect] Please tell me someone's making coffee.

Cora: Already on it!

Allison: Awesome. I will make breakfast.

Stiles: So I shouldn't text Lydia for donuts?

Liam: I'm all for donuts.

Allison: Donuts are fine but we're going to need protein too.

Isaac: [is waiting not so patiently over the coffee machine] So donuts and bacon?

Allison: [there's a look at that because no, that's not healthy and she'll just grab eggs and other breakfast making things out of the fridge]

Stiles: [texts Lydia for donuts and then goes into the kitchen and hugs Cora from behind] You are a coffee goddess.

Cora: [glances back to him with a smirk] Good morning to you too.

Liam: [is just going to stay in his chair and heal because Hayden is not there and he wants her to be]

Cora: [eventually serves up coffee for everyone and Allison serves breakfast not long after]

Stiles: [and then they can get down to planning how to find Mason]

Cora: [which basically goes down as it did on the show because Allison and Isaac are stay with Malia to help make sure her mom doesn't cause problems]

Stiles: [except that Cora is at the Sheriff station with him where he's just stretched out and bored because nothing to doooo]

Cora: [smirks] You okay?

Stiles: Bored. So Bored. Bored times infinity bored.

Cora: This is for your own protection.

Stiles: Yeah, because someone like the desert wolf would be deterred by the sheriff station.

Cora: No, but she would be deterred by me.

Stiles: My scary werewolf girlfriend.

Cora: Exactly.

Stiles: My SEXY scary werewolf girlfriend.

Cora: [she tosses him a look] You better be careful. I think you've already scarred Liam enough.

Stiles: How did I scar Liam?

Cora: [there's a beat as she shifts closer and drops her voice] "You're a dirty girl"?

Stiles: [blinks] No, I'm not.

Cora: No, that's what you said this morning. In your sleep.

Stiles: Well, if I was asleep I can't be held accountable for it.

Cora: I don't think Liam sees it that way.

Stiles: Yeah, well he should have thought about that before he and Hayden started making out in front of me as a way to “heal.”

Cora: [she laughs] So that makes it okay?

Stiles: No, no it doesn't. Liam needs to make out with his girlfriend behind closed doors like the rest of us do.

Cora: Stiles.

Stiles: Yes?

Cora: That's not what I was talking about.

Stiles: Well, if you're talking about being a dirty girl, pretty sure my dad will kill me if we do that here

Cora: [she laughs] No, that's not what I mean. I mean that while I find you talking in your sleep adorable, you need to be careful where you do that in public.

Stiles: So no more sleeping in public.

Cora: If you can help it.

Stiles: And then I guess that means you can't fall asleep on couches.

Cora: Oh really?

Stiles: Yeah, cause I didn't want to wake you up cause you looked so adorable curled up on the couch.

Cora: And what does that have to do with you talking in your sleep?

Stiles: We would have been somewhere where Liam's delicate sensibilities would be harmed.

Cora: Mmmmhmmm. [and they talk for a bit before …] I haven’t seen Ghostbusters.

Stiles: What do you mean you've never seen ghostbusters?

Cora: I've never see Ghostbusters? [Stiles, your girlfriend's pop culture deficient ways should not surprise you by now]

Stiles: This... this is a failing on your family. That movie was out before you were born. I saw it when I was like, eight.

Cora: We weren't big movie people.

Stiles: [rubs his eyes] Okay, we are going to rectify this. Ghostbusters marathon one night.

Cora: Okay. It's not like we won't have a whole apartment to ourselves starting next week.

Stiles: [deep breath] I know. I'm nervous.

Cora: Which part?

Stiles: College.

Cora: I think you'll be great at college.

Stiles: It's just going to be different.

Cora: It is. But I think you'll like it more than high school. There's less trying to fit you into a box and more finding your own way.

Stiles: Less worrying about what monster of the semester is trying to kill you.

Cora: Though if you're going into folklore, that may still be an option.

Stiles: True. I bet that's how they want me to do extra credit.

Cora: We'll see what happens.

Stiles: Remind me to bring the bat just in case.

Cora: Will do.

Stiles: I hope we can save Mason before we go back.

Cora: Me too. I think Buffy is putting Willow on it to see if there's a way we can separate them.

Stiles: [bites his lip] And if not...

Cora: Don't go there. We'll save him.

Stiles: I was thinking about if not before we have to leave.

Cora: We'll still save him.

Stiles: But do we stay or do we go?

Cora: We'll figure it out after we find him.

Stiles: Okay.

Cora: And we will figure this out. We've figured it out before and we can do it again.

Stiles: [nods] As long as no one ends up in the hospital again.

Cora: I think we can manage that.

Stiles: Especially my father.

Cora: [she nods] There are so many deputies with him at all times, I doubt that'll happen again.

Stiles: I know, but I'm still worried.

Cora: I know.

Stiles: it's just been too many close calls. Him, me, you, Scott...

Cora: I know. But we'll be okay. I will be okay.

Stiles: I want everyone to be okay. Except Theo. Theo can die in a fire and I'll dance around it.

Cora: [she laughs] I don't think you're the only one. [there's a beat] I kind of feel bad for Tracy. Being part kanima means she's pretty much programmed to take orders.

Stiles: I kinda want to help her find a way to not be a kanima. I'm tired of being paralyzed.

Cora: I don't think the way you helped Jackson will work with her.

Stiles: Worth a try.

Cora: You'd need someone who loves her.

Stiles: .... So yeah, better to just kill her too.

Cora: Stiles.

Stiles: What?

Cora: It's not her fault.

Stiles: No, but the choices she's made after aren't all Theo's doing either.

Cora: Maybe not. But that doesn't mean we should just kill her.

Stiles: [sighs] Fine.

Cora: Let's see what happens.

Stiles: [nods, and then he gets up to start walking around the station again because bored and restless and being Stiles = too much energy to sit for long]

Cora: [and she will keep him company until they have reason to be elsewhere]
