canon au } { post-603, of ghost riders and creepy train stations

Ben: [sipping his coffee as he walks] I still can't believe it. That cutie from the diner? Really?

Olivia: Yep. He's been hanging out with her kid a lot too.

Ben: [laughs] Out of all of us, he's probably the one who'd actually be a nondysfunctional parent.

Olivia: Probably. He was a lot like Dad that way.

Ben: Yeah, he is. And a lot more like the one here than the one I knew.

Olivia: I still don't know how he feels about that.

Ben: How Sam feels about Mikey dating?

Olivia: I think he's just glad we're all happy and playing normal.

Ben: [snorts] First time someone compared me to normal.

Olivia: I don't think we'll ever be normal. But he seems to think we should have something close - not feel pressured to go into hunting.

Ben: You totally missed the mark on the whole "close" thing.

Olivia: [looks up at him] What's that supposed to mean?

Ben: Your boy is what, other side of the country half the time?

Olivia: I like to drive.

Ben: Which is good.

Olivia: Yes, it is. [and something brushes against the back of her spine and she comes to a stop] Did you feel that?

Ben: [he'll stop, his hand automatically going to his gun. He feels the wind picking up, leaves blowing] Just the wind.

Olivia: Right. [she pauses for a moment, eyes scanning the area before turning back to him again] Must be overreacting.

Ben: [finishes his coffee and tosses the cup into the trash] Nah, good to stay alert.

Olivia: And we are in Beacon Hills.

Ben: Yeah, try living here on a daily basis. Buffy says this is worse than her old place.

Olivia: Really? That's definitely saying something.

Ben: It keeps me busy while Lindsey is at work.

Olivia: You mean you guys don't go on hunting dates?

Ben: Yeah, with Parrish in the car as well? [his head whips to the side] Did you hear something?

Olivia: [her head snaps towards the sound as well and her eyes narrow in agreement] Yep. Definitely heard that.

Ben: [yeah, that horse whiney is loud] Come on.

Olivia: [nods as she goes to follow his lead]

Ben: [and as they get into the park there's a Rider waiting for them] Little late for Halloween there, buddy.

Olivia: Seriously - it's way overkill.

Ben: [and the Rider says nothing, but the sound of spurs behind them indicate that they have riders on both sides of them. Ben's hand goes to his gun] So what, this some kind of cowboy reunion?

Olivia: [her hand goes to hers as well, getting more of a bad feeling] ... I don't like this.

Ben: [and two more appear, circling them as the first slides off his horse, a whip going to his side] Yeah, I think we're just going to go then.

Olivia: [she turns so that she's at Ben's back, not leaving much space between them] I don't like these odds, Ben.

Ben: Yeah, know what you're feeling. [his gun is drawn] You fuckers better back up.

Olivia: [they're not backing up. in fact, they're still advancing and Olivia is tensing more] I don't think they're listening.

Ben: Guess we'll have to make them. [gun up at one of the riders] Back the fuck up. Last warning.

Olivia: [yep, they're not listening, which has Olivia shooting at one of them, but the bullets don't seem to do them much good]

Ben: [and he's shooting as well] You having any luck?

Olivia: Nope - [and as she speaks one of the whips lash out and wraps around her ankle, yanking her forward as she hits the ground]

Ben: Liv! [he felt her leave him and he turns, aiming to shoot at the whip since she is being pulled in supernaturally fast]

Olivia: [she tries to claw at the ground to slow her down, but it doesn't work as well as she hopes] Ben!

Ben: [and he is about to go after her to help when there is a bullet fired and Ben just.... explodes into a cloud of black and green smoke]

Olivia: Ben! [there's a shriek of despair, but as she gets pulled in closer to the riders, the gun aimed right at her. All it takes is one shot and she disappears in the same cloud of smoke]

Ben: [and when they wake up, they are in a train station. Everything is tinted blue]

Olivia: .... What the hell?

Ben: I don't know... [rubs at a sore spot on his shoulder]

Stiles: [hearing familiar voices and looks up slowly from the post he has taken to sitting at as his own. he blinked a moment] Ben? Olivia?

Olivia: [turns at the sound of her name, and for a moment, she stares in confusion, until a wave of memories hits her hard, and her eyes widen] Stiles!

Stiles: [pushes himself up to stand, groaning because it's obvious he hasn't moved in a while] You remember me?

Olivia: Not at first, but ... yeah.

Ben: [his head is clearing as well] What the hell is going on?

Stiles: What day is it?

Olivia: Uh - the third, I think.

Stiles: The third? But...

Ben: You've been gone almost a week.

Olivia: I guess? I just got to town.

Stiles: What's been going on? How's my Dad? Cora?

Ben: Whoa, kid calm down. Right now you have to tell us what the hell is going on.

Olivia: Yeah - where are we?

Stiles: Train station to nowhere. It's like the waiting room that never ends, and the train never comes.

Olivia: I'm guessing not on the usual plane of existence?

Stiles: No. You guys heard about The Ghost Riders being in town?

Olivia: Ghost Riders?

Stiles: Yeah, Norse mythology. Same bit Parrish comes from. Riders come and take people, erasing them from reality.

Olivia: ..... Hold up, erasing people? They erased us?

Stiles: Yeah. No one back home will remember you even exist. Your belongings will disappear, you disappear from pictures... just like you were never there.

Olivia: Oh, hell no. [she huffs and makes a fist] Where are these things so I can punch them in the face?

Ben: I'd like to get a few slugs in myself.

Stiles: They don't come through here often.

Olivia: Okay. Then how do we get out of here?

Stiles: No clue.

Ben: [snorts] perfect

Olivia: Then let's figure it out. [she's not going to live with being erased, no thank you.]
