canon au } { post-6a, of reunions and remembering

Olivia: [and after finally separating herself from her brother, she goes back to a room where she can be alone and finally hits "call" on Hal's number, and takes a deep breath as she waits for him to answer]

Hal: [and he's working on a paper so he will look at his phone and smile before answering] Well look who finally remembered how to use the phone. [playfully, of course]

Olivia: [she laughs] Sorry. I was out of service for a while.

Hal: that's fine. Lacrosse started so I've been busy between working the freshmen and trying to keep up with classes. Have a good hunting trip at least?

Olivia: Not exactly. [a beat, because he just said he was busy] Can I come see you?

Hal: Yeah, sure. Let me talk to my roommate and see if he can disappear for the weekend. I even have a home game so I'll be around all weekend.

Olivia: Okay. Let me talk to my dad and then I'll hit the road. Even if he's not cool with it, I can always get a motel or something.

Hal: Unless you think he's going to spy on you here, you don't need a motel. What he doesn't know won't hurt him.

Olivia: Okay. I'll see you in a few hours.

Hal: See you. [and he's going to have to finish this paper asap]

Olivia: [and she's going to quietly negotiate a weekend in Berkeley with her brother and father, before driving up and texting him when she gets there]

Hal: [and he will remind her where he's living in the house with the lacrosse upperclassmen and head outside to meet her]

Olivia: [and she smiles when she sees him before darting closer and basically launching herself at him]

Hal: [laughs and catches her, and he's just going to kiss her]

Olivia: [and she's more than happy to kiss him back, because god she missed him so much]

Hal: [and after a bit] Hi.

Olivia: Hi.

Hal: I missed you.

Olivia: I missed you too. I know I was gone a while, but I didn't mean to be.

Hal: Its fine. Things happen.

Olivia: Usually when people say that it's not three months happening.

Hal: [blinks] Its been the months? [runs his hands through his hair] Damn, now i feel like a crappy boyfriend.

Olivia: [shakes her head] Not your fault. Kind of has to do with the thing I was hunting.

Hal: Well come on in and we can talk about it. You want something to eat? [and he slips an arm around her waist to guide her inside]

Olivia: Yes please. I'm starving.

Hal: [and welcome to a male house kitchen. There is leftover pizza, hot dogs, and beer]

Olivia: [and she will grab the leftover pizza and a beer and sit wherever he puts her] So you know anything about Norse mythology?

Hal: A bit. Loki and Thor right?

Olivia: Yeah, but there's also this thing called the Wild Hunt. Riders that ride the lightning and they come into towns and will take everyone there. When they're done, the world just forgets the people there ever existed and it's nothing but a ghost town.

Hal: That sounds bad.

Olivia: Yeah, it was really bad. Especially since it ... got me.

Hal: But you're here and not forgotten.

Olivia: Because Scott stopped it. Somehow diverted whatever mechanism it was before it could take us away. But there's a reason that you forgot to talk to me for three months.

Hal: ...Oh. Well, I'm pretty happy then that Scott stopped them because I'd rather not lose you forever.

Olivia: Yeah, me too. I was just worried coming up here, because I ... wasn't really sure how it worked for people outside of Beacon Hills.

Hal: [looks at her a moment] You were worried that my forgetting you meant I was with another girl, is that it?

Olivia: [there's a bit of a pause] Maybe. There ... there was a little bit of that. I mean, I'm technically not even supposed to be here to begin with. This isn't my world, so ... what if there was supposed to be someone else and I just ... got in the way.

Hal: [he turns to face her, taking her hands in his own] Liv, you're the only girl I want. And while I've been too busy the past few months to entertain the thought of finding a girlfriend that isn't you, the few girls who have flirted with me after a game just... didn't feel right. [chuckles] Actually, this explains why I kept feeling that.

Olivia: [she looks back at him with a small smile, before nodding] Good to know. [and there's definitely a bit less tension in her posture with that news - that's one worry off her mind]

Hal: Anyway, pretty sure that there isn't a girl who can compare to you. Who knows, maybe that portal thingie sucked you through for me. [smirks because boy ego]

Olivia: [and there's a bit of a look at that] Don't get too cocky.

Hal: [works to school his face, but he's still grinning] I'll do my best.

Olivia: [rolls her eyes] Maybe you should just consider yourself lucky that fate didn't decide to work the other way around and you wound up going to my universe.

Hal: Oh, after what you've told me, I'm very grateful for that.

Olivia: Good. [and she'll just shift a bit so that she can tuck against his side instead]

Hal: [and he will snuggle up with her, and probably go ramble off about things she's missed for the last two months pop culture wise since he's been helping her keep up on that kind of stuff]

Olivia: [which she will appreciate because two months is a long time in movie time]

Hal: [yup. and then he will fill her in on the fucknut president they have]

Olivia: [. . . . .] Wait, the guy's name was Trump?

Hal: Yup.

Olivia: [squints a bit] I read a newspaper thing about him once back home. He got eaten alive on national television when the first wave of Croats hit. He had a show, right?

Hal: Yeah. [blinks] Wow, that would mean the breaking point for our realities is approaching.

Olivia: [shakes her head] No, it was back in 2010. He was doing some kind of live promotion for that show, with the celebrities, competing for a job or something? Someone there was infected and it turned into a blood bath. The media had been trying to downplay outbreaks of the virus so far, but after that, it all kind of went downhill fast.

Hal: Oh wow. That... while it sounds horrible the guy is an asshat and I'm not sorry to see him go.

Olivia: [she shrugs] I was ... an infant at the time, so I can't really say either way.

Hal: Oh, well you'll see it yourself first hand then.

Olivia: I guess I will.

Hal: So what do you want to do tonight?

Olivia: [she takes a deep breath before shrugging] Honestly, I don't really care, so long as I get to spend time with you.

Hal: Well, that I can do. Except for the few hours you get to play cheerleader and watch a lacrosse game.

Olivia: Sounds good to me.

Hal: You can keep those freshmen vultures away from me after the game too. [smiles and kisses her] Make sure they know who I'm with.

Olivia: [grins into the kiss] I'll do that.

Hal: Good. [kisses her again] Want to go up to my room to watch a movie?

Olivia: [is that code for fool around? because there's probably going to be fooling around] Let's do it.

Hal: [totally code.]
