Cora: [and she'll come down dressed for their date and greets him with a smile] Hey.
Stiles: [and he is probably not dressed up enough for this because he's just in jeans and a nice button-down shirt] Hey. You ready?
Cora: Yep. [she's not too dressed up, but there may be a sundress happening, just cuz] Yep. [and she'll open the door to slide into the passenger seat]
Stiles: [and after he closes the door for her, he will climb in.] So I was thinking that new little cafe that opened was due our patronage.
Cora: Sounds perfect. Do you know what kind of food they have?
Stiles: Coffee, sandwiches, salads, and some deserts.
Cora: So something for everyone.
Stiles: I believe so.
Cora: Perfect. Sounds good.
Stiles: [and so they arrive and he will guide her to a free table for lunch]
Cora: [and she will look over the menu as she settles] So how's Dina doing?
Stiles: Good. I was thinking of getting her enrolled in some kind of lessons over the summer but she hasn't decided what she wants to do.
Cora: What about day camp?
Stiles: I don't know if she's ready for that. [aka not sure if he's ready for that yet]
Cora: Well, day camp would be like a test run for preschool? And they have half-day programs too.
Stiles: I know, but it's a lot of strangers for her to take in at once.
Cora: That's true.
Stiles: I thought with lessons, it'd be an hour and I could be there for the first few so that she can see me if she's scared.
Cora: [she nods] That makes sense.
Stiles: So we're trying to figure out if she wants to do horseback riding, ballet, or swimming.
Cora: [she nods] I'm sure Allison has some leads if you're looking for good ones.
Stiles: We were thinking of maybe sending her and Ryan together, actually. That's the swimming one.
Cora: Then you're two steps ahead of me.
Stiles: Maybe for the first time ever.
Cora: You were never that far behind.
Stiles: So says you.
Cora: [her head tips to the side] Why don't you think you were?
Stiles: Werewolf everything - you kinda always had an advantage.
Cora: Maybe physically, but in terms of people? You always knew them better than I did.
Stiles: Yeah, kinda. [rubs at the back of his neck, because that was not how it was now]
Cora: [she watches him for a moment before reaching out to take his free hand] You'll get there again.
Stiles: [licks his lips and nods] I know. One day.
Cora: And until then, is there someone you can trust to help you?
Stiles: Not sure. I mean, a lot of people help.
Cora: [she nods] Yeah, that's true.
Stiles: I think your mom has made it a personal mission to rebuild me.
Cora: She does that. Her specialty is taking care of people.
Stiles: You know if it wasn't for her, I'd probably be a fugitive on the road, trying to get me and Dina a new identity.
Cora: Then I'm very glad she was there.
Stiles: There's still some days I think that would have been the better choice. Less of them now but the urge to run is still there. I've been talking to your sister about that.
Cora: Has it been helping?
Stiles: Kinda. Mostly.
Cora: Just give it time. These things aren't something you can fix overnight.
Stiles: I don't know if they'll ever be actually fixed you realize.
Cora: No, I know. But they'll get easier to deal with.
Stiles: [nods, and then smiles as their food is delivered because they totally ordered somewhere in that conversation]
Cora: [yes there was ordering and now some eating]
Stiles: [and everything will be good until someone drops a plate and Stiles flinches, his heartbeat suddenly spiking]
Cora: [and she hears that and reaches for a hand gently] It's just a clumsy waiter.
Stiles: [nods, because he knows that. but it's still just...] Yeah.
Cora: We're almost done, why don't we walk to the theater?
Stiles: We could do that. Maybe get another coffee?
Cora: Yeah. Definitely. [and she'll flag down the waitress so that they can get on their way]
Stiles: [and he will try and finish his food, but his hyperawareness is up and it makes him nervous and twitchy so he's not really hungry.]
Cora: [and she will also get them to go containers so they don't have to wait for them to finish]
Stiles: [which they can leave in the jeep before walking to the theatre] I'm sorry.
Cora: It's okay. [she slips her hand in his and gives it a small squeeze] It happens.
Stiles: [takes her hand and squeezes it]
Cora: Plus it's a nice night. It's a good night for a walk.
Stiles: Yeah. [and he just takes a deep breath, slowly come back out of it] Yeah, it is. The stars are bright tonight.
Cora: And the sky is clear - we didn't have nights like this in Boston.
Stiles: We sometimes had them in San Francisco. I'd go to the bridge and sit at this picnic table sometimes when I told Suzanna I was working late and just stare at the stars. Sometimes one of the guys would come with me so i wasn't alone.
Cora: Sounds like you had good friends.
Stiles: I did. You'd like them.
Cora: Maybe I'll get to meet them one day.
Stiles: I'm sure you will. We're thinking about making a business together.
Cora: Oh yeah? That's great, Stiles.
Stiles: We'll see what happens. We need to find an investor first, and that's usually the hardest part.
Cora: Have you talked to Peter?
Stiles: ... No. Why would I talk to him?
Cora: Because he has a hundred and sixteen million dollar trust fund that he's doing nothing with? And if you had a solid business plan, he may consider investing, or even giving you tips on how to make it look good for investors?
Stiles: [and he takes a deep breath] I guess I can think about it.
Cora: Yeah. I mean, even if you don't want to ask him for the money, he's a good person to bounce an idea off of. At least you know he'll be honest.
Stiles: Yeah, I know. I just... [sighs] No, it's stupid.
Cora: No, tell me.
Stiles: I know Peter's not like Suzanna's family... but remember all of that started because they wanted me to work for them. I don't know if I could ask someone I know to be involved in this. I need to do it on my own.
Cora: Okay. Then don't ask him for the money. But ... don't be afraid to use him for his opinions either. Because I will help however I can but I know nothing about running a business. He can at least tell you if there's anything in there would be red flags for real investors.
Stiles: Like I said, I'll think about it.
Cora: Okay.
Stiles: [Deep breath] So what movie do we want to see?
Cora: There's a fun comedy that just came out. It's got Kristen Bell in it.
Stiles: Comedy would be good.
Cora: Comedy it is, then.
